RIP, Johnny Cash. Listening 2 Cash always hits me a feeling like sitting around a campfire in the dark night. MayB, no1 does it better than him. However, 'One' is full with Bono's charged voice & only U2's One can give me catharsis 'cos of its multilayer interpretations. Compared 2 that, Cash laid it bare & ripped off Bono's Irish edge. On the other hand, Bono could never sing 'The Wanderer' better than Cash. Guess 'cos it was his life like the One is Bono's, hence the authenticity.

When U2 recorded this it was a beautiful song which summed up an age. Somehow Johnny Cash has taken it a stage further. Bono said, "I listen to him sing this and I never knew I was so cool". Great respect to Bono for writing this but Johnny did the definitive version.
