@ipdaniel1 He wanted to die like a Man, standing up as he pissed. He just happened to get shot. He was alredy condemned to death, being put out on the front lines.

@ipdaniel1 He couldn't leave the "no man's land" between the German and French trenches, so he was going to die anyway, sooner or later. He choose sooner while "pissing standing like a man".
