My dad told me today that he wished I would go away and that I have no life cause I made him upset. Then I went in my room and told myself he obviously doesn't love me. He hates me.
Now I know that people don't even have dads that could even love them. Or hold them. And I do. I love you dad <3
I so can relate to this video. My dad lost his batte of cancer (multiple myleomia) in 2010. He only been diagnosed 2 months prior to his death. He was the rock of my family and now that he is gone its like a big piece of the family puzzle piece is missing. We had to make the decision to take him off life support and going in there and saying our last good byes and reassuring him we would be fine and that we would all take care of my mom that had a stroke 7 yrs ago. I miss him more every day :(
this song makes me think of my Great Grandmother..She Basically Raised me....Died near the middle of January of 2004...I had jolted awake I guess about a couple minutes before she died...about 1 1/2 hours later to my grandmother and grandfather came home with my mom with the news she had died....I was told she only Died when they told her she didn't have to wait for me...Sometimes I just hate my family....guess it was too much for them to wake me up too & say goodbye

HE told all his nurses that "my little girl is coming", I will never forget how big his smile was when i walked in his room. I lost my dad almost 5 years ago to the day. He wasn't just my father, he was my best friend. Even though I've had to raise the kids since their mom left, I stayed awake and never left his side for nearly 7 days. When I knew he was ready, I called in other family members and told him to let go, we'll meet again one day. 2 minutes later he was gone and I have never felt peace like I did at the exact moment he left. My daddy just died yesterday. Now he won't have to be in pain anymore. I remembered listening to this song growing up, never realizing the true emotions you feel from this. @angiengary11 it'll be okay i promise. my dad was sick with cancer when i was 6 and he almost died 4 times and was not expected to live and i think once he was also pronouced brain dead or was going to be but he survived and is 5 years cancer free. that doesnt happen for everyone i know that but he was lucky and i feel for you. he might survive you never know. miracles can happen :D

I cry too this song. I still have my daddy. But, im the youngest of my family.. So when i was five, my dad was too old really.. But, atleast when i was five, he wasnt hurting as bad. My daddy just died yesterday. Now he won't have to be in pain anymore. I remembered listening to this song growing up, never realizing the true emotions you feel from this. I lost my grandpa June 2, 2001 this song hits me hard cause I lost my dad Oct 9, 2007 just one day before my son turned 1 months old and he never got to see him. my dad left when i was small, so my mother took his place and she has been both my mom and dad ever since. last year my mom got dianosed with cardio miapothy. which translated means broken heart syndrome. she has always been there for me and i dont know what i would do without her because i know that any day i could lose her, i just hope and pray that it doesnt happen anytime soon. that would brake my heart.

my father passed away August 28th of this year. A friend of mine shared this song with me right after he passed away. The part that gets me is the end. The night before my father passed, I was in his hospital room with my mom and a family friend. The friend asked us if we had told him it was ok to let go, that we'd be ok...we said we hadn't...the next day he passed away...I know he heard us. He just wanted to make sure we'd be ok. this song, made me break down and bawl when I first heard it. It was soon after my Dad's funeral, last month. He'd battled cancer for 3.5 years. He was the one who taught me everything that I know. I wasn't a healthy baby and mom had post partum psychosis. Dad was given custody of me. He was my superman, and he'll always be my hero.

@angiengary11 it'll be okay i promise. my dad was sick with cancer when i was 6 and he almost died 4 times and was not expected to live and i think once he was also pronouced brain dead or was going to be but he survived and is 5 years cancer free. that doesnt happen for everyone i know that but he was lucky and i feel for you. he might survive you never know. miracles can happen :D

I never really had a father I could truly relate this song to, and it's that absence in my life that brought me to tears with this song and High Valley's "A Father's Love". I'm not a big country music fan, and I don't listen much, but I've shown some pretty significant people in my life these two songs, and I cry every time.
