  • Works for me when I use with gel, I don't use a large amount. Try and make up your own mind folks

  • @locsnatwist Everyone should always make up their own minds - I'm not here to think for people. I personally would not want to use a styler if I *have* to use it with another styler, but that's me. If it works for you, that's cool too.

  • Ugh I wish I would've seen this before I bought that crizzap. I feel victim to the curling souffle last night. No frickin bueno.

  • I don't believe in wasting a product. I have this and haven't been able to make it work for me or my girls. However, since I see that it works for some people, I'm gonna keep trying. When I tried it in my hair, I couldn't wait to get home and wash it out. Maybe I used too much, but my hair felt like it was caked with product. I don't know how to avoid the stickiness.

  • @candygirl2319 Did you try twists? Some people liked it for that...I returned mine. I don't believe in wasting product either! I hope you find a way to get it to work.

  • hated this product!!! i had the same reaction you had. it's greasy and it gets all over the place (on your neck and clothes). it never dries. but on the plus side, you get great 2nd-4th day hair with a few spritzs of water. i used the curl enhancing smoothie under it and it was better. still wouldn't buy it again

  • You mentioned you used leave-in conditioner. The company reccomends you use this on naked hair. Like others have stated it's the agave that makes this sticky.

  • @WhoCares3001 I don't think it's one ingredient, I think it's the overall formulation. I have several products with agave and they are not sticky. Also, regardless of how I used it, I did not like the texture, period, so I wouldn't buy it again.

  • @denimpixie "I don't think it's one ingredient, I think it's the overall formulation."

Funny right after typing that comment I thought exactly that. I've purchased this product but have to use it. I know about 4 people who hated until they tried it on "naked hair" and literally applied a fingertip amount.

But we all know how it is with hair/skin products... one girl's beloved staple is another girl's "where's dat receipt.... back to da store ya go" product.

    Btw: Excellent vids and blog!

  • I have 4b 4c COILY coarse hair. This product does not work as a gel for me either..it does not clump my hair HOWEVER is is the ONLY product I have ever found that keeps moisture in my hair all day! Downside ,yes it is sticky...it's the sugars & Nectar in it. I also live in Nevada which is ultra dry with ultra hard water as well. Your hair may be coarse but it is more curly than coily..your natural oils travel down your curls better than coily hair which is why coily

    heads need more moisture!

  • yesssss.... i got it today and it was horrible!!!! hate hate hate...

  • I know! My hair wouldn't dry at all, its only good for if you wash it the night before then let it dry for hrs. it makes the hair feel soft and less greasy the next day... and i still wouldnt leave it out with the stuff, way too goopey

  • Me tooo!! I mix a lil with my ic styling gel, and bang!! Niiice results

  • For everyone who left bad reviews, I must say I felt the exact same way! I almost took this product back to Target but I tried it again. This time I didn't use as much because I can't really say this is a "gel". I used about a palm full under my ecostyler gel. HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!!

  • this stuff was FAIL for me untill i used it veerryy lighttly underneath my gel. its BEAUTIFULL under gel. i use ic styling gel or if i really wana go out-go out i use it in conjunction with my kc curling custard. it really does a thing for 4a 4b 4 C hair. just try it if u already have it. the key is "light".

  • I tried the soufflé because I swear by the moisture milk and the curl enhancing smoothie, but this stuff was a major fail for me. My hair looked like a limp noodle. I had to wash it out. I love the Shea Moisture line and my hair really enjoys a gel product, but my hair was not feeling the souffle either.

  • I appreciate your honest review. Several factors can come into play such as hair texture, porosity, other products used in combination with this one, etc. I used this and it works quite well in my hair. I think people should think before they buy, but don't let one review persuade or dissuade you from buying.

  • I wish I had seen your review & all the others BEFORE I wasted my cash. Shame on me, I was caught up in the Shea Moisture hype. I don't think S.M. tested this out in anyone before they put this out. LoL

  • My hair felt like I had a Jhericurl product in it. LOL!

  • Elle - I had the same results with this product. We have to think of it more as a moisturizing product and not a gel.

  • I also bought the Shea Moisture Curling Soufle. I had to immediatly wash it out because of the oiliness or grease in it. My hair doesn't respond well to it at alll, but I am happy for people who it works for.

  • @denimpixie.WOW! at 6:06 when u put her hair right to the camera is could totally see what ur issue is with the results. HONESTLY in the beginning I was thinking "its looks fine...what is she talking abt!!" UNTIL u got up close n personal! Yeah, I can see how it just layed on ur hair and ur hair looked kinda "blahhh" as u said! I may try it anyway since it can be returned. Ive got abt 3 diff textures of hair on my head so maybe??? And thats what I LOVE abt Target...Its returnable!

  • Girl I was just thinking about Sideshow Bob, and you SAID IT!! LoL!! Well, I guess I won't be buying this product. I love my Long Aid, and it's sticky and greasy enough. BUT it's only like $5.73 for 32 oz at Walmart. Girl, i am NOT paying $12 for something just like it. :p Izzy looks completely UNhappy!! LoL!

    Jen

  • I just have to tell you how wonderful it is not to have to listen to that annoying intro music on your channel. That stuff gives me a headache, big time. It's awful, and some people have it going on forever.

  • @kalm5369 LOL! I hate video music but a lot of ppl like it so I put it on sometimes. It just sucks b/c it has to be royalty free so it can't even be fun music.

  • I feel this would work well on those with thicker strands ( they need the extra moisture).

  • @infp49 My hair is medium/coarse - my strands are thick. My hair is not fine by any means.

  • so glad i saw this first I hate greasy hair, #3 pet peeve

  • Thank you for your review. The general consensus seems to be that this should not be used like KKKC as the texture misleads! I still plan to purchase this product simply because there hasn't been a product from SheaMoisture I haven't loved, but I know NOT to shingle with it. I can see/hope this would be great for smoothing back into buns/updos, & the oil content seems it will seal moisture & wont dry stiff like gel. I'll try it with my curl formers too.

  • @denimpixie does the smoothie work ok?

  • @nene8907 I like it, I have a couple of reviews on it (one for each formulation - they reformulated it this yr).

  • Hilarious! I was thinking side show bob too! Too funny! I wanted try it but I guess not...

  • @sisterboyd Do you do twist outs? On your hair it might give you a jheri curl look but I dunno....

  • Thanks Elle for the review. You're one of my favorite vloggers, even though we don't have the same hair type (kinky, coily, very fine). I appreciate you're honesty. The Shea Moisture line is a hit/miss for me so far. The yellow label shampoo completed dried my scalp out and made me sneeze uncontrollably. However, the curl enhancing smoothie is a winner for my hair.

  • @CoilyTwin2 Thank you!!! :D I've also tried the yellow shampoo (only once) and it was okay but a little stripping. I like how they reformulated the Smoothie definitely.

  • I appreciate your honest first impression review of this product Elle. I know everybody loves Shea Moisture, but sometimes even a line we love can hit the wrong mark with a certain product. And it looks like they missed the mark on this one. Also, ppl should remember that this was YOUR experience w/the product & their experience could be different. As always, I appreciate your honesty =)

  • Why do some people thumb down a review ? Is it that they don't believe it to be true or don't like the effect of the product ?

  • LOL!!! Guess I will NOT be trying this! Cannot find CON anywhere near me :( May have to order it from somewhere...

  • it doesnt smell bad but i think that the smell is a bit too strong (maybe cuz im pregnant). but it is sticky stuff...i have 3 jars full and dont use it.

  • 6:12... too funny! NO NO 8:03... Even better!!! HA! Good stuff man... LOL

  • Btw, I don't want it to seem like I didn't like your review, Elle, because I do. I bought the SM Souffle and my hair didn't have the same reaction as yours. Probably because I didn't use it on soaking wet hair and I did a twist-out (not a wash-n-go). I agree with you about the oiliness of the product, the consistency, and the drying time. SM Souffle did not leave the "crunch" feeling I get after using KCCC, but it has about the same hold. SM Souffle gave my hair great shine and moisture.

  • @MissEddiecation Yea that is my thing - I mainly do wash and gos, and usually do not use gel when I do twist outs, so for *me* a gel needs to work for a wash and go. If it works for someone else, awesome - I in no way am trying to "blacklist" Shea Moisture, which is what I feel some people thought and I'm not sure why. And thank you for commenting on the consistency, feel, etc...those are factors that are not up for debate and I didn't like it. How can people argue with that?

  • @denimpixie I feel you. SM has so many other great products out there. Unfortunately, their Souffle (gel) is not one of them. I hope they go back to the drawing board on this one. I will continue using the product and trying it out in different ways. Also, I bought SM Thickening & Growth Milk (yucca + aloe); Loved it! IMO, better than the other their other SM Milk product. I used the SM Thick&Grow Milk with the Souffle for my twist-out.

  • @MissEddiecation Honestly I would LOVE it if they reformulated this and I would certainly try it again - I like to try all of their products, some I am in love with, some not so much. C'est la vie. I like the Yucca Growth Milk but I cannot stand that flower smell - and I certainly said that in my review of it but I know that smell is an individual preference. I love the smell of the Black Soap line and some ppl hate that.

  • If someone else likes the product and does a review...would their review be any less honest? This is the reason why I don't take reviews seriously. There has been reviews done that say great things about a product, but then I try it and the product sucks. That's why it is important to know what ingredients your hair likes and doesn't like. If you know your hair doesn't like (insert ingredient here), then why buy a product that contains it.

  • @MissEddiecation I agree with you - however, I'm not sure if you were referring to me, but there is no ingredient in this product that my hair "does not like." Furthermore, an ingredient does not make or break a product, a large factor is the formulation, which is mainly what I am getting at. I have many other products with similar ingredients that aren't nearly as greasy. And no, if someone has a great experience that review is not incorrect - that's their experience.

  • thanks for a great first impression review..ive seen your hair look a lot better with other products......i wont be trying this!!!..glad that SM's other products are the Bomb.COM!

  • Thanks for the info mama! I won't be trying this one! I haven't had much success with Shea styling products. I love the shampoo though!

  • Before you even said it I was like "mmm mmm. That gave her Sideshow Bob hair..."

  • I can't stand the feel of greasy hair from a product ... especially if it's hanging in my face like yours is ugh lol. I feel your discomfort :S

  • Wow! I have NEVER seen your hair this lifeless..Saved me Lots of time and money! Sorry..but thanks for your review!

  • It feels gross. I can't get pass the icky feeling.

  • I got this last week & used it to do twists. My hair had less shrinkage but came out limp & stringy. Also don't like the way product feels-tacky, sticky. Will be returning this to Target.

  • Im very familiar with your curls... and even though your hair looked nice, Ive seen your hair with much more life... and YES its the GLYCERIN!! I absolutely WISH they didnt put it in there... ughhhhh.. Ill be sticking with EcoStyle Gel I guess... crazy thing is.... Ecostyle has glycerin... BUT... It surely doesnt have this kind of effect. I cant take anything dripping on my shoulders. Thanks for the heads up girl.

  • @Ysheena1 I mean I honestly think it's hard for soaking wet hair to look "bad" and when I say bad in the sense of natural hair usually that's frizzy, shrunken, and dry. The amount of glycerin in this stuff most likely would not have given me dry hair but I wonder if it would have been like the Mizani Moisture Stretch - which gives me soft hair but it's very limp and stringy.

  • @denimpixie Im absolutely SCARED of Mizani girl. When I had a perm ALL of thier products took my hair out.. even the shampoo AND condish. I love Kinky Curly products though... that condish is the bomb.. They just dont gove you that much for the penny.. thats why I converted to the Shea moisture condish

  • I'm not familiar w/ your curls, but I thought your hair looked good :( Guess you know better and how you want it to feel and look. Hope I have better results

  • Can I have it? lol

  • Seriously, people give thumbs down for an honest review if it's negative? Would you get a thumbs up if you lied and said it was great? I don't get it....

  • @CurlyKimmyStar *Shrugs* I've given up trying.

  • @CurlyKimmyStar

--ppl who're trynna sell/pawn product off on unsuspecting suckaz

--ppl determined 2demote any video she posts, 4whatever random HAM reason

--afro nazis lashing out b/c she doesn't fall into THEIR definition of *natural*

--ppl who're not intellectually equipped 2disagree w/o defaming others' posts

    --chicks who like 2b lied2

--or ppl who've been suckered by product & it's too late 4'em 2backpedal, so they bash any honest reviews that don't agree w/their own (shrugs)Take ur pick.

  • @CurlyKimmyStar how do you know why ppl are thumbing down the video?

  • @ideolojay I don't know why, I was just guessing because Elle's other videos don't have such a low thumbs up percentage. I haven't watch all of her videos, but this is the most recent review where she didn't like a product that I've watched. I tried to give it a million thumbs up the other day to make it higher, lol! Not sure if it worked. :) Who knows, I could be totally wrong, and its just the regular peeps that click the thumbs down button! :)

  • Have you done a individual review on the ufdcm???

  • @oriana0525 No it's on my list.

  • "Help me mom waaaaaash me!" LMAO!

  • I AM NOT A FAN OF THEIR PRODUCTS, THE CURL SMOOTHIE WEIGHED MY HAIR DOWN, THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!

  • I love your review. My hair has the OPPOSITE affect to the ingredients in the souffle as it's a completely different texture from yours so I will still be buying this when it comes to walgreens.

    Izzy looks so sad :(

  • Were they trying to copy off KCCC?

  • @anissa4334 I don't think so because the ingredients aren't similar, texture isn't similar, none of that. The color is similar and that's it, which isn't surprising since they aren't using dyes in it. It seems that every new gel created people want it to be a replacement for KCCC, but this doesn't even seem remotely the same.

  • @denimpixie I havent found anything that works as well as KCCC! Thanks for reviewing this. I will not give up my KCCC.

  • Izzy doesn't likey....

  • I lime everyone could not wait to try this product. But I dont like gylcerin, and I tried this souffle in a wash n go and I felt like I had a jerhi curl. Hated it I washed it out of my hair 2 hours later. Yukkkkkkk.

  • SO...since wen can return used hair products back to a store ?

  • @measchueax It depends on the store. Yes I told them that I had used it - they gave me store credit. At Whole Foods they will give you a refund.

  • Thanks for the review

  • Wow...thanks for informing me. I believe I'll try that one then. I've always had poor luck w/the ecostyler gel...everytime I apply it to the edges, they just frizz right back up. lol.

  • I'm really disappointed that they added glycerine to it because during the making of the product, they asked ppl what they wanted in a gel and most ppl said they wanted glycerine and protein free product. I don't get why they asked if they knew they weren't going to take ppls request into consideration. Smh.

  • @sWeEtSkItTlez I am pretty sure the gel was already made at that point and they were just asking for opinions to create buzz around the product. Somehow I knew it was going to have glycerin but I didn't expect it to be this high on the list b/c most of their other products aren't super high in it.

  • ewww.

  • Glycerin is the third ingredient?? No thank you.

  • wow i never heard of this product before

  • I have not seen this product yet it must be new I didn't know they even made a gel lol, weird

  • Is it similar to a curl activator?

  • @faizah365 The only curl activator gel I have used is Long Aid and this is greasier than it, imo. I have some Long Aid and compared them.

  • sigh. I was looking for a gel that compared to Kinky-curly for a lower price. Nothing I've tried compared to KCCC for wash-and go and braid-outs(love that I can still see my texture in my braid-outs). Any suggestions?

  • Yuk!

  • LOL @ the 'touch-a-vision" comment. So sorry the product didn't work for you hun! Nonetheless, the honest review is much appreciated.

  • @MsChanteJ72 I really feel as if you need to touch it to understand what I am talking about.

  • I had to laugh out loud at the 'tree' comment.... Too funny!!

  • Thumbs up if you saw this on African Exports' facebook page!

  • I did read the Shea Moisture recommends this product for "holding". They also recommend not to use the styling milk(leave-in) because the souffle has it's own oil in it which would leave too much oil in your hair.

  • @Cheryl72859 Well for me there was no hold whatsoever, which was actually good b/c I don't like tons of hold. I didn't see where they said to not use a leave-in, so I used it like I use all my other gels, it's just very greasy.

  • Thanks Elle-the burning desire to grab it has definitely decreased. Like I said, if I want glycerin, I have a big tub of eco blue!

  • Aw that sucks...I was so hoping this product was going to be good. I was going to head right out and get this but I'm glad I saw this review first! Thanks Elle...I 'preciate ya!

  • I may still try it- don't mind the oil, but not too crazy about the glycerin. What you said about the content in lower end stylers is so true....I have to wait and see...Thanks for your honesty in the review!

  • @pjjosephgiss I think the glycerin, not the oil made it so greasy...it has oil but honestly not that much...I'm not really sure what it is but it's greasier than Long Aid.

  • I had to return it for some KCCC. It was too thin and oily for me. It didn't clump for me as well. I was hoping it would replace my KCCC but it seems to not be the case.

  • I appreciate the reviews......HOWEVER....her hair is nothing like mine so I will still have to check it out for myself.....It still is cheaper than most other "natural" products.....ijs

  • @sfarmer1920 Great point and I'm glad you understand that.

  • thanx for the review. i don't like putting gel throughout my hair anyway, but i do need a natural hair gel for my edges so this might work for me.

  • AWE!!! Izzy looks unhappy!!!!!

  • LOL i was never gonna buy it. i'm gonna use the stuff i have.

  • LoL! I'm glad you did this review before I went crazy going from target to target to try and find this product. Cuff that! Have you tried the NEW gel from Carol's Daughter? That too just came out. It's about $22...but I think it's worth it.

  • @iwillsmile4umh I have that too, it reminds me of Jam...I like it so far but the hold is strong so I don't think I'd use it all over my head - it's good for slicking down frizzies and edges without needing to use a brush. And you only need a TINY bit b/c if you overdue it's like paste lol!

  • Oh No :(:(:( Sorry for the mix-up...I was told it was a BOGO. I haven't been able to find the gel is the Chi town area...still going to look and see what happens...

  • @Kamiele1908 $15 for two DCs is still great! I kind of want to order more...**greedy**

  • @denimpixie LOL...I purchased 8 PRODUCTS today!!!! I BC'd on 8/19 after 19 months so I am getting back to my roots (so to speak). I have dry hair and am currently doing weekly protein and moisture treatments. I have a regimen and everything (awww snap!!!), just no tried and true products or holy grailers so to speak. I'm working on it. Can you tell me why glycerin is so bad for our hair???

  • @Kamiele1908 Glycerin is NOT bad for our hair! Check out my video on dew points. It's just a humectant, and too much of it can be very sticky and greasy.

  • @denimpixie WIll do. Thanks much...I get confused with all this new information!!

  • I think it is the flax seed that is in it. I am glad that you did the reveiw on this because i was thinking about trying it. thanks!

  • @genejaytre Hmmm I dunno the flax seed is towards the bottom and I make my own flax seed gel and love that.

  • Awww DAMN! well glad my Target didn't have it yet!!! LOL

  • I think for kinkier textured hair it's probably better...Ur hair looks like it needs very little product to achieve lots of curls..but kinkier hair sometimes requires much more moisture.

  • @one2keepitrl My hair is medium/coarse, it is not fine or silky despite how my curl pattern looks.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Your complaints about it are the same of some others that I've read from people that got it early. Shea moisture can be real hit or miss & this sounds like a miss all the way around.

  • i think i am going to get it. i like the weighted look. my hair likes the oil. i will just be mindful using it.

  • still wet after blowdrying..... yeah im not in a hurry to get this I hate when products do that shyt. Thanks chica!

  • @LolaKinkz SOAKING wet! I honestly don't think it's ever been that bad - I know you and I have talked about the glycerin wet thing but usually I just diffuse a bit and I can fix it.

  • I went to walgreens today hoping to find the souffle since quite a few people found it in there stores already on FB, but no luck. I did stock up on my HG product (Restorative Conditioner and the C.E.S) I know Izzy hates alot of oil but when you said 'oil' i was like "YEA!" The only way i can get a crunch free style is to spray oil over my EVOO eco, so this review has me sold on buying it. LOL Hopefully it will work when the weather cools for you =D

  • girl i am not even going to try. i know that stuff does not work for my hair. i have natural hair but i don't have hair that forms curls earlier. thanks for the video.

  • I totally get it.... Sometimes I think I funnier than I actually am.... I guess beating is a bit of a stretch. :-0

  • @Redshugga It's all good - I just want to make sure people don't think I'm saying this like, made my hair fall out.

  • ok i was going to rush and waste money i dont have based on the hype but i think i'll pass now lol thanx for saving me some dinero

  • @bellanatural01 By all means, go out and try it - this review is my opinion and experience. You can always return it.

  • Another woman said she didn't have a great experience using it and they told her that she should use it without a leave in, so maybe you could try it that way?

  • @RellaBella92 Honestly, I'm not even trying to use it again, leave-in or no. The texture of that gel just isn't what *I* like on my hair, regardless of product combinations, hair properties, etc.

  • @denimpixie oh I see. Well, it's true that everything isn't for everybody.

  • So disappointed with you experience with this new product. I was starting to call Izzy Mikey because I thought she liked everything! :-) but I'm totally acting on behalf of Izzy when I call protective services for the abuse you put her through today! Side note... I love SM products as well. And even though Izzy took a beating I may have to put Katrina ( my name for my hair) through a test try.... If it's a no go I will return it.

  • @Redshugga Let me be clear. This product was not damaging to my hair in any way - it wasn't dry or tangled, which REALLY makes something bad. My hair was just very greasy, limp, and all over the place - something that also isn't cool, but certainly not what she's been through with some other stuff truly jacking her up. All I had to do was hop in the shower, rinse, and do a quick condition.

  • Thanks for your honest review/1st impression. I feel like products that have a high concentration of glycerin makes my hair feel spongy. Did this product make Izzy feel the same way or just really greasy?

  • @MissENTF I'm not sure if I would use the word spongy, just really greasy and limp...it was surprising to me.

  • @Aerogirl530 No really though...I even realized how I sounded during the video and was sure to say that as a company I love Shea Moisture...I've reviewed several of their products and have given them good reviews. I don't think it's fair for you to come on here and act like I'm bashing them when I actually have a LOT of respect for Shea Moisture and I really appreciate them bringing more natural products to stores on the ground.

  • I'm going to give it a try next year. I'm on a protective style thing right now but I can't wait to try this. Maybe you used too much? IDK

  • @TrueCityGirl Used the same amount I always use with everything - the texture is just not good for my hair, I could tell before I even applied it.

  • @denimpixie Oh ok. Well it's good that you know your hair so well. I'm still trying to get there. BTW are you still liking Viviscal? I was thinking about trying it.

  • @TrueCityGirl Still loving it but mainly for my nails right now...they are really sharp, lol.

  • @denimpixie Even better! LOL. Thanks. I'm going to order them sometime this week.

  • @TrueCityGirl I know that Walgreens had $15 off earlier this week on it...not sure if it's still going on though.

  • @denimpixie GASP! Walgreens? I was just there. I didn't know they sold them. I will be going back tomorrow. I know they have a BOGO on Shea Moisture. I went for that and didn't think about looking for other stuff. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely go look for them!

  • @TrueCityGirl I'm not sure if it's in the store but I know it's online.

  • @denimpixie Ahhh even better!!!! Thank you giiiirl. I really love that you actually respond to people. And loving the videos. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Aerogirl530 I said I love Shea Moisture and just got the Purification Masque, it's my main HG deep conditioner. This product was just a huge miss for me. I don't understand why it's "wrong" to say that.

  • @Aerogirl530 Also, how is it bashing their productS when I even said as a whole line I love their products, just not this ONE product? Seriously?

  • I think I'm still going to try this product because I need a gel that will weigh my hair down

  • Your hair does look different with this new product compare to the other products you've done tutorial or review on. Ur hair didn't look bad but I noticed the difference.

  • thank you! i was starting to feel jealous of all of you guys in the US who have access to this, but your first impressions review has cured me of that. Just the consistency would've put me off, reminds me of another product but cannot put my finger on it right now! yuuuukkkksss, Izzy did look gross with it on, hope you gave her another wash! :) x

  • Long sidenote: I actually had a reminder in my calendar to get this today, but Irene is a heaux (I'm also in NYC), and she messed up my plans. Glad that's over though, tomorrow! Hope my Tarjay has it :S

  • Do you have a different light setting on your camera? It's hard to see what you mean. I did see it when you were up close to the camera.

    Thanks for the review.

  • @luciaSil76 I used my webcam instead of my full HD camera and the natural lighting outside isn't great. But I wanted to do the vid b/c I'm returning it and wanted to wash my hair. It's more how it feels over how it looks.

  • I didn't get your disdain for the product until your close-up at the 6:10 mark. Damb. Yeah, get your money back. I wouldn't even use it for slicking back.

  • @sarayve I mean...not even that...my hair was still SOAKING wet after trying to blow dry it and an hour later. I know it takes my hair forever to dry but I can usually get it to stop dripping fairly quickly.

  • @sarayve i agree. i thought it looked pretty good until she got close up, and even then it didn't look terrible to me. i think the texture and greasiness of it was too much for izzy, and i can certainly understand that.

  • Sounds like KCCC minus the grease. I find it messy, gets on my neck, it's sticky...I always have to wipe my neck down and it takes forever to dry, but I love the curl def it gives me. U know I still have to try it! Wonder if you should stir it? How is it compared to KCCC and QH Curl Creme to you? I know the latter gives me a limper curl than the former... Sad that you don't like it :/

  • @montREALady IMO, KCCC is way better, sorta reminds me of Queen Helene but a softer hold. I'm going to return it.

  • Also, ALL my products get on my neck b/c of how long my hair is - KCCC isn't really sticky to me, it's like a gel, which is a bit sticky, but nothing crazy. This is was like whoa...I couldn't deal, and that's rare.

  • Im glad u did this cause I cant stand very oily products

  • @NaturalBrown40 It's like I can't even say it just didn't work for MY hair, the texture/greasiness has nothing to do with hair porosity/texture - that aspect isn't a debate. I think I'm just going to return it.

  • wow...i see the shiny stuff on your arms!!

  • your hair still looks great to me. izzy behaves well even when she doesn't like a product. she's so respectful;-).

  • @Titus2Chic LOL she was mad at me...

  • Sideshow Bob came to mind for me too! Sorry hon!! Return it. I didn't know Shea Moisture made a new product. I live in NYC, and even though the "apocalypse" is over, I still won't be outside today. I will take a look this week however. BTW... Why did I think ALL THIS TIME that you were in the DMV area?!

  • Awww Elle!! :( I hate when products are tacky/ filmy on the skin. That alone kinda make me shy away, even if it does wonders for my hair, it sucks to have to shower twice! lol. p.s. WHOOP WHOOP broadcasting in your towel haha!

  • @phillyswimmer Lol!!! Yea girl, it's peep show Sunday! I ended up redoing my hair with Komaza Coconut Pudding and that product is MUCH thicker, yet is not filmy/sticky at all.

  • are you mixed?

  • Thanks for this review! I love Shea Moisture products and if I saw this in the store I most likely would have tried it. I can tell by how it looks in the jar I wouldn't like it at all. And I didn't know about the sale at Walgreen either so Thanks so much!!

  • @Fatima0504 That's how I felt - when I opened the jar in my car I looked at the texture and already was like uh ohhh...
