One day while he was working on a house two of his friends where walking down the said walk, coming from a coffee shop when two men came from a car. One was armed, the armed one put the gun to his back and said "give me the money". My dads friend said "thats not a real *ucking gun" and walk' a way. My dad called 911 during this and it came to be that the armed robber got away with his money and the police arriving 15 min later.

Look, i've had to point a firearm at a night stalker. I was taking my night run and this dude was following me, to test it I circled around the block twice. So I ran home and got my SKS(looks like an AK-47), I made sure I put on the 50rnd loaded clip and waited. I heard a knock at the door. I opened it with my foot. You should of seen the look on his face as I cocked the gun and said Asta la vista, baby.

I don't want to kill anyone any day. I would feel terible. I was carrying a knife but I SUCK a hand to hand combat. It's wrong to kill people. BUT, if it is in self defense it is justified. Pulling the trigger is a last resort. In my case he just needed to see it. This world is bad. There will allways be badguys and goodguys. If evryone was is my situation I think they would think differently. Living at the mercy of crooks and criminals unarmed is bordering mental sickness.

But many of the things you just said are already illegal. There are age restrictions for firearms ownership, there are restrictions concerning criminal records dealing with violent crime, felony convictions, domestic abuse, etc. There are also in many states restrictions due to mental state.

Here's a plan: Let's actually teach people that they're responsible for their own safety. The police aren't there to protect you, and they never have been. Just ask the Supreme Court. They've consistently ruled for over 100 years that the police have absolutely no responsibility to guard your life or property, they merely have to enforce laws.

@JustSayNoToGuns Dude, there will ALWAYS be a way to obtain a gun. No matter what laws you enact, no matter how many registrations are collected, criminals will always get guns. A simple background check and a permit should be all that is needed.

I'll admit, I want a gun at the moment. The truth is, my friend was murdered by a shot she never knew was coming. She'd have not had time to react anyway, and wouldn't have owned a gun either. The one person shot who was equipped was a cop who did shoot back, but he was wounded. This is just too personal.
