  • Your immune system will not, in no way, shape or form, be able to "filter out" melamine. It's not a virus or a bacteria.

Chickens that were fed melamine tainted food laid eggs that were 2 to 5 times the safe level of melamine.

In South Africa, Nestle stated that the baby formula that was tainted there was due to the milk from dairy cows containing melamine because the cows were fed tainted food.

It is passed through from a nursing mother to the baby. You should at least do some Googling.

  • P.S. Have your husband make a video. He seems much more serious about this issue. I saw him in the background ;)

  • I think you are a wonderful person and I appreciate the video, but it's sad that people like you want to just hang out and Starbucks and let everyone else police the world.

If someone doesn't do some policing, then the rest of us will pay.

Why not be willing to do some research, contact your state representative, anything?

I do not have a child and I have taken it upon myself to try to save children.

Think of Erin Brockovich. What if everyone hung out at Starbucks and did nothing?

  • I get a very strong impression that this woman doesn't "hang around startbucks all day" she has a family. she is obviously concerned about this issue. if everyone dropped what they were doing and focused on some new media scare, the world would fall apart.

aside from a VERY few medications that mother would take because of cancer, it is ALWAYS better to breastfeed.

    melamine or no melamine.

  • Why do you put "hang around starbucks all day" in quotes as if you are quoting me? I never said that. I also said I support breast feeding. I never said everyone should drop what they are doing and I fully assure you the world is not going to fall apart if mother's take a proactive interest in the health of their babies that would involve doing a little research, maybe writing a paper here and there and contacting the news media and congressional representatives with concerns.

  • i'm sorry, i did quote you incorrectly.

i think it's wonderful that you care about this issue, i just don't like that you are commenting on this woman's video in a way to use guilt to move her into action.

not everyone has time to focus on this issue like you do.

sorry again, didn't mean to be rude.

  • Well that is where you have me wrong. I do not expect this woman to go into action, but if she is going to take the time to make a video, why make one suggesting we sit around and do nothing and trust the FDA? If everyone did that, we'd all be in trouble. A few of us have to look out for the rest of us that don't want to be troubled with it. The FDA is corrupt for one. Secondly, even if the FDA was not corrupt it is impossible to monitor every food and drug with such a small staff.

  • P.S. it's pronounced...

    mel·a·mine [mel-uh-meen, mel-uh-meen]

  • I support breast feeding, but mothers can pass high levels of melamine through to the baby. Melamine also causes reproductive damage.

We can't simply "trust" the FDA. We have to stand together to change laws such as country of origin laws. The FDA is indirectly (possibly directly) funded by the large food manufactures. Recalls would cost these companies billions.

Until mothers like you take this seriously, they will continue status quo. Already our children have been harmed.
