What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for your sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have eternal life
Yeah - I get it. ~ What if the christian picked John up and never actually made it to the Sunday service because he and John ended up in a spiritual conversation sitting in the parked car - That would be really cool!
It is fairly sad when people take what is meant to be a fun reminder of how not to be so judgemental of those who don't "look" the part for those who do into a little skit to shed some light-heartedness on a serious issue, take that that and make it onto a religious war.All this video skit is saying is to stop always assuming that the "church" makes you saved, when its all about the person inside the church...."The clothes don't make the man its GOD that makes him holy."-Myself
Yeah, Abilene Tx. Wow, been interesting to see folks and their vibe about what was supposed to be a fun video to remind folks to pay attention to the folks next door.
Sometimes things are more revealing by the reactions they provoke than what they say. Looks like we all have a bit to learn about judging and slamming folks and letting grace make us gracious.
While dressing to impress people is wrong, but not dressing your best for God is equally as wrong. It show little respect for Him. He is not your buddy you pal-around with, He is the King of Kings who also happens to be your friend.
Both of these are very poor examples of a Christian.
this whole thing of making fun of each other is a bad example hands down. and dressing for God? I dress for occasions. that special event. or for business meeting. God is not someone I'm conducting business with and unless it's one of his parties (the holy days he announced in scripture) I don't dress up for school and worship. Tradition does not dictate my life with our heavenly father. Now those old hymns are better than most pop christian worship songs.
hahahaa , he is not ur buddy , he is the king of kings who happens to be your buddy . hhhaaa haha looks like u were the one wearing the suite in the video .. hahahahahaha cant stop laughing
This is just a sign of the selfishness of our society. People have always dressed up for important people or events to show respect. People dress up for their loved one. We have become a me first people. We ought to give God our best.
Jesus is concerned with both inside and out. He wants the outside to reflect the inside. (Matt 23:26)
He told the Pharisees to clean the inside and the outside will be clean too. Jesus is concerned for both the inward and the outward. We do judge books by their covers. Just to be a phony on the outside, make it real.
Good point (literally). Your right, and there's no reason to doubt that people who make videos like these are right and have good intentions. The problem I have with this is that as as Westerner, I feel there is a MAJOR MAJOR lack of Christians educated in the deep truths of the Bible and a TON of "Christians" who don't study the word (and some who don't read it at all) but make hanging out with their church clique an idol. That is what we need to be fighting against!
What a CROCK of Nothing - it's the same aire of superiority we have come to expect from the C of C sect.
Maybe if you borrowed "churchgoers" Greek Dictionary you would be able to understand GRACE, BAPTISM, and THE HOLY SPIRIT; instead of holding to you limited and errant theology!
Sad! "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.
Reminds me of the people tailgating /driving crazy in traffic with the religious bumper stickers on their SUV'S or the neighbors that have the 10 Commandments sign in the front yard and they are always fighting or their kids are having loud drunken parties when parents are not home. People get so wrapped up worshipping religion that they miss a true relationship with Jesus the Christ.
amen! chirstianity isn't just about going to chruch, it's about living completely for Jesus. but don't get me wrong going to church IS improtant, Jesus Christ Himself died for His church. it's where we as christians go to learn how to serve God, and how to be better servants to God and other people. thanks for posting!! God Bless you!!
@riffmanforchrist Very well said. Some people take the whole "it's about the relationship with Jesus" to the extreme and think they never have to go to church. They say things like "church is man made and not what Jesus intended" when the New Testament, specially The Acts of the Apostles, is all about that first Christian church that Jesus started. I am not saying that going to church is all you have to do like some think, but it definitely is important.
It's supposed to make a point for the people that do act like the church goer. That it's not about the ritual of church, but to glorify God. To grow in your relationship with Him. We're not putting down anyone, it's just making a point.
I have to say you did nothing wrong. We are not to judge the world. We are however; supposed to rebuke our bretheren for the hardening of their hearts. I think this video does a great job. They both are christians. So for one to try and lovingly correct the other. Not by say HEY you are doing this wrong. He does like paul does when The Apostle corrected people. He says stuff like I do not act like this(or anymore) because here is where my thinking was wrong. He used himself as an example.
Christians put that fish decal on the back of their cars not realizing they are promoting the god of the philistines, dagon. This is a great skit. In my own life, I have seen this. One time a homeless man came to our church. He needed a ride about 38 miles away from the church. None of the people there would give him one. So, I gave him a ride. Missed church that day, but gained so much more with God. I disagree with the brother over Christianity being based on horus.
Actually, the fish sticker is a representation of the symbol used by Christians to communicate their faith secretly during the oppression brought on Rome. To find out if another person was a Christian, the first would draw one line and the second person would complete the drawing of the fish in the dirt. In reality, the fish was chosen because it represents the story of the fish and loaves.
All that being said, I'm not slapping decals or stickers on my car. I shouldn't need to wear a sign.
Too bad the Christian religion itself is just a myth though... based on 'Horus', the Egyptian version of Jesus...then mixed with the pagan myths from the Enuma Elish. It would have been a great story if the whole Jesus thing was actually REAL though.
Real great skit though...Pretty ironic since the entire Christian religion is based on plays (skits) written by Roman aristocrats (the Piso family). It's actually kinda' accurate in a very ironic sense!
Speaking of irony - a person with a tag-name "IlluminateYourMind" disseminating such shockingly ignorant and historically inaccurate reconstructions of the origins of Christianity. You got sources for your assertions?
judging people for their false-piety is still judging people. Some of the most hypocritical Christians I have ever met are some of the ones that come from some of those non-denominational inetgrating faith into the culture, lets abandon all of the traditions that our church was built upon churches. I have news for you all of us Christians exhibit false-piety and hyoprisy in one way or another.
Love it

Yet another division amongst the failing flocks!
It's SO nice they are now ridiculing their own hypocrisy, so others do not need to.
So far, I've seen three such rifts developing, each claiming the "new moral high-ground" and all three using this copy-cat commercial format.
Hypothesis: religious folks lack imagination.
Evidence: Fledgling religious factions imitate computer ads to promote their "new" version of old bullshit.
Religion = FAIL
Satisfying irony.

Why should we dress up? Who impressed by that? Doesn't the Bible say that the Pharisees dressed up and put on fancy displays of their piety?
Isn't He more concerned with the condition of our Heart than the clothes we wear?
