Yes, I know, he doesn't obviously pay up front for his iPhone, and obviously, he gets it before anyone else. But the first model that comes out before they make the batches costs more to make before they finish using and testing demo iPhones. The iPhones that Steve uses are payed with money from Apple, and his bank account, or Apple's bank account.
