  • just watched French special forces movie and this is the title tune for the helicopter intro, had to get some Bad Mick jones is a legend, RIP Joe strummer !

  • look at all the heathers dancing on the stage haha

  • most of the time live music is better, but this song's gap between the live version and the record version is incredible. the single can't hold anything to this performance.

  • I don't really pay attention to the crowds in the shows I go to. But are any of them even like this anymore?

  • Way way ahead of their time. samples and crossover tunes....Fucking brilliant.

  • Thank god for my dad introducing this band to me.

  • @danmang92 LOL, that makes me feel old...

  • I really wish I was there.

  • This is actually from the Freedom Beat concert at Clapham Common 28th June 1986

  • such carefree times, what envy.

  • Despite the cheesy synth drums, this track still kicks any modern mainstream "rock" band's ass. Who besides braindead teens needs to hear shit like 30SecondsToSuicide, Greenday, mUse and Blink anyway?

    This here is neglected art.

  • @NotableJInx2 Green Day is great!

  • Gay

  • @LumpySpunk

    no way

  • Great, i love this song =)

  • A cool melody one of the defining sounds of the 80's

  • Greeeat footage! Not crazy about the higher pitched singing in this verision, though...the style in which it is sung on the the album cut is a big part of what makes this tune.

  • This would have been the Clash in the future... then they would have tried yet another genre, constantly evolving!

  • the clash pwns BAD hard...so hard.

  • @Iwetbeds duh but they are still great

  • @Iwetbeds no way

  • Saw them at Exit 2 days ago! Much love!!!

  • Best video ever! Look at the crowd.. On stage too! Just brilliant. Love it x

  • i think if the clash never broke up they would have been similiar to BAD, but joe wanted to go back to punk unfortunately

  • @BEARARMZ he didnt really want to go back to punk, thats evident in the mescaleros which became more folk like. either way everything he did sounded awesome, except maybe cut the crap.

  • @wookiewhat the mescaleros wasnt right after the clash broke up like BAD. he did want to go to punk. he had a mohawk and made cut the crap. the only good song on there was this is england. i have almost all the clash documentaries and yeah he did want to back to punk. he felt the clash sold out and needed to go back those early days in london 1976, but unfortunately that scene was dead.

  • This is along with the Clash and Big audio one of the most important music groups in history, Just like the Beatles! Just listen to the words and the beat!

  • He's singing slightly out of tune.

  • @HyperboreanUK Can you help me hear him sing out of tune at Lollapalooza? The only way I can go is if I win tickets in this contest. Just gimme a thumbs up on my video - it's all I need. And then I'll owe you my soul.

  • That was awesome! Saw them last at Coogee Bay Hotel, Sydney early 90's! Come on down under to Australia! GLAD BAD IS BACK!

  • I was there for this one, it was a free all day gig on Clapham Common. Shame BAD only got to do three songs as they and Gil Scott Heron were the highlight acts.

Oh, and Boy George was bottled off the stage.

  • @fremontian9277 Helps having been a major member of The Clash beforehand

  • huh?

  • first saw B.A.D. at the hacienda mcr in 86

still got the B.A.D. baseball cap

& still got my signed skins ;)

    this line up is unbeatable

  • Just found this vid today. One of the best things to come out of the 80s and still sounding as good as it did. In terms of live performances - I've not seen many better than this. Excellent post.

  • fucking awesome. REFORM!

  • I'm jumping up and down right now

  • the lack of joe strummer is disturbing

  • This is a killer live version, thanks for the up

  • LONG LIVE MICK !!

  • need more cowbell! Awesome performance of an awesome song!

  • what a fukn tune love it.

  • It was 1986 not 1988

  • never knew Micks band kicked arse like this..they were real popular aswell

  • @SuperGrimupnorth you never get to see B.A.D. ? i 1st saw them @ the hac in 86

just as the "this is big audio dynamite" album was big & e=mc2 was out

still got the 1st single the bottom line

went on to see them everywhere i could get to

all the samples are from performance

    james fox & mick jagger....

  • If you showed to someone without any preface or background they would probably think this was the talking heads for the first 45 seconds

  • God Mick Jones is the Man!!!! and was the brains behind all the good clash songs, and from the first time i heard this song witch was proly bout two years ago iv never gotin tired of it, i think its one of the greatest songs ever er er definatly top shelf shit, plus look what there waering so fucking cool but thats just me im way into music

  • @smokinghooeyup247 is there any B.A.D album that sounds most like Mick's Clash stuff?

  • woman uo ladies

  • Ritual - ideas - relativity Only buildings- no people - prophecy

Timeslide - place to hide - nudge reality

Foresight - minds wide - magic imagery>>>>> Thank you!!! (tears from crying) The best video, wow, thanks again....

  • Esta canción es una absoluta pasada! Es una fiesta!! Lo mejor que compuso Mick Jones (The Clash) en aquella época!!

  • Mick Jones never gets enough proper credit.

By the way does anybody notice that AWFUL Billy Joel " Start the Fire " song seems to have ripped off the phrasing and tempo from E=MC2.

    BAD= AWESOME!

  • this song is all about the film 'Performance' a fucking awful film starring Mick Jagger, however to comare this to Billy Joel's song is utterly ridiculous,Joel's song has the 'rap' bit but has the authenticity of his liftime wrapped up in one(thought pretty lenghty song).

I saw BAD at MK Bowl about 2 yrs after this and they, with ASWAD,blew me away and to think,I was, and still and a heavy ish rock fan is unfuckingbelievable.

Spurs won again today........life dont get much better

  • @1980jlifts ha youre probably right but you can't "rip off the tempo" from a song. thousands of songs have the same tempo

  • god bless the 80s.

  • 80s' music was defiantly the era,i grow up in Australia and we had good music,my only regret in life is that i wasnt in england at that time, were the music was unreal,so many great bands, new romantics the list was endless.talk talk, big audio, psychic furs just to name a few.

  • amazing! love them

  • NME band wagon bands take note. This is how a pop band should sound.

  • Wasn't this Free Mandela concert at Clapham Common? I think it is. I was there and sadly BAD only had time for a short set as 10pm nosie restriction shut them down. I remember Jonesy apologising for it at the end.

  • @HarrytheHorse

    i think you're definitely right.

i remember that i watched this video broadcasted on japanese tv when i was a student, back in the late 1980s (88 or 89, sorry, i'm not sure).

  • WIT A TUNE

  • shut up and dance!!!!!!!!

  • *thumbs up*

  • this is not from 88" it's from 86 or 87

  • OH MAN,JONES IS KING

  • Great band.I saw them play a gig in Lower Manhatten in the early 90's, in a kind of old wherehouse, very basic but a great night.Trouble was,any time Jones spoke the Yanks hadn't a clue what he was saying. He was asked by a few to speak English, trouble was ,he was...diction is not somthing he does well...now music,a different matter !!

  • I really love this song, but this version makes me love it even more. Amazing vocals, and the way the band go for it at the end is live music at its best.

  • This is really good live.

  • This abnd was THE band of the '80s..they survived post clash, post Jam, etc. need i say more??

  • mick jones truely kept the groove of the clash goin dint he!

  • aiaiai so great song!!

  • Love that higher octave in the verses! Thank You!

  • This is music!

  • still rofl at gazzasandersons comment, so true.

loved B.A.D back in the day and still love there songs shame this is the only song there really remembered for as most of there others are just as good

  • 'The Globe' is a masterpiece!

  • Love 'ya Mick!!!

  • That's the fun stuff. Used to jam this whole

"cassette" back in the day.... What!

  • possibly the best video of one of the best songs ever pn youtube, love this version.

    always love seeing Don letts

  • long live B>A>D

  • mick jones 4th big hit of the 80's starting with Train in Vain

  • mick jones the best guitar/singer ever

  • AWESOME,!! thats how music should be

  • I love how Mick plays the little guitar solo at the beginning slighty different from the record

  • Mick looks so fucking cool on stage in this. But those guys from the audience dancing on stage look like they're dancing along to 'I am a Cider drinker' by 'The Wurzels'. Who cares though, they were having the time of their lives.

  • so do have i ! some people just hear nothing ! this is exellent

  • How has this only got 84,649 viewings? I must have watched it myself at least 200,000 times.

Love you Mick. Once a Clasher, always a Clasher.

  • got that allright

  • un clasicooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

  • fuking goood stuff

  • You can't beat this! Could you imagine this happening today with health & Safety.

  • @ShebaOfAraby great comment! back in the late '80s, in CT. we were rockin' to BAD while playing our fave. drunken game-"Spud-nik", indoor soccer w/a potato...BAD kept the groove for many yrs!
