Season 9 had some anomalies: in addition to Cindy becoming UNDEAD and Esmeralda's "avoid the Flip camera" suicide, there was Marissa Kenmore--I think her light broke in the Galileo thermometer episode, so Jory's team "pulled the plug" and declared her dead soon after.

Jackie lasted 19 experiments (3rd place behind Lacey and Diane), broke hers and Beatrice's plates, and showed how a "y" could be corrected into an "ie" without erasing. Zelda lasted only 4 experiments and was killed in Riley's only hosting episode.

Three microwaves died from fireworks experiments, meanwhile, but Samantha Samsung survived a bottle-rocket AND a firecracker (the latter was a "damn fine idea" and the only firework experiment to get a "good" verdict).

@ladycordelia17 I think I can explain Candy and Emily. Microwaves can generate what is called a standing wave. The radiation has to be absorbed by something in the microwave. If the item(s) in the microwave don't absorb the microwaves, the machine can overload and possibly backfire onto the heating mechanism. That's my theory.

Though being 3rd place in longest lasting, she was quite hearty. But St. Margaret Emerson II was the heartiest.
