  • This song is so good! Now stop reading comments and listen to this song!

  • to be honest i never cared for the thumbs up, but knowing that so many people feel the same way's really nice. and yes, about the username, i just thought of it then and it stuck.

  • I was born in 1988 and I love music. I love FitzSims.

  • I love William! I saw him live in Manchester in November, and he was absolutely incredible. Met him afterwards too, such a lovely guy :)

  • Who cares when you were born? Just enjoy the music.

  • born in 1995 grown up with william Fitzsimmons ^_^ my hero when i was 5 and it still is :-)

  • @fartsandburps : I was born in 1996... I tell you, this is not boring music.

  • people who dislike videos like these need a serious grip of their lives.

  • god I made something wrong.. thanks for making me cry <3 I really need it right now..

  • uhhm i love it so much !♥

  • Best thing I've accidentally clicked on.

  • So magical ;3

  • Saw this live yesterday. Great Guy! :)

  • @ROFLMAOROFLCOPTER to be honest it's a little hard to take YOU seriously with a username like that.

  • This is honestly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The first time it came up on my internet radio station my jaw dropped to the floor and was not picked back up for the entire six minutes of this song. Very few song, if not any, have ever made me do that.

  • Man, everyitme i hear any song by this Fitzsimmons, i really feel for him. It's good to know someone still has emotions :) thanks WIlliam

  • Beats add to the epicness of a song that needs no more epicnes to make it more epic...

  • @fartsandburps ur not the only one :)

  • He's a genius! Every song is so beautiful emotional,i can't describe my feelings,when i listen to his song's..

  • This song just reminds me of this time last year, when I was sat on a bus and had this playing through my headphones. The sun was setting and I was just watching everything go past from out the window, buildings, trees, people... really did make it more emotional than it should have been, that's how powerful it is. Gotta love this guy.

  • I can't even begin to comprehend the emotional concepts of this song. It's beautiful beyond belief, every little aspect of it. i could listen to it endlessly and i would be content, it makes every little thing okay, and inspires me to do so many things. Thank you William Fitzsimmons, for writing such a captivatingly incredible piece of music.

  • I guess now i can tell my fellow music lovers "here's something you might like" and just play it to them. Nice discovery!!!

  • @cachaslokas that was exactly my thought process when i discovered him :D

  • It would be better without the annoying clicking sounds in the background, in my opinion.

  • this is incredible. beyond amazing.

  • If jesus had a voice this is what he would sound like

  • Well at least we all agree that its performed somewhat on six strings ( and thats not beef jerky) ..and Im a drummer so I know nothing just throw me a peice of raw meat and Im in bliss

  • I like how he doesn't finish his words.

  • i'm still trying to figure out why anybody will find out a great but not widely recognized William Fitzsimmons song .. and in spite of being amazed by this musical feast ...ends up pressing dislike button and leave .. I dont know may be a little description of thumbs up or thumbs down will help ..!! whats wrong with you 6 people .. !! you need treatment .. William worked as a therapist for mental illness too .. may be he can help you ..

  • First song I ever herd from him, best song I ever herd by him, never the last song I'll hear by him.

  • Definitely, it's an acoustic guitar. His vocal is great.

  • 6 people are deaf heartless morons

  • @laneangeln08 ...weren't his parents deaf?

  • @stupidfruitable they were blind ..

  • @stupidfruitable No, blind.

  • beautiful just beautiful music

  • ohhhhh. this is so awesome. so amazing. this music is so different, so individual. it is very helpful when u have, u know, some depression, some heavy week or maybe month. i download it in my iphone and i listened it everyday. i think, there are no words to describe this music.

it is just mentionally and i love it very much.

  • In a world where I can torrent entire discographies at a time, I will gladly pay for masterpieces like this.

  • So ein schönes Lied !

  • Great song ♥

  • i just watched the movie . i lost the respect to my favourite actress megan fox , worst movie you can ever imagine

  • I was born in 1995 and i love music like this, not the "music" they play on the radio. People make fun of me for having such a "boring" taste in music. Well, I feel sad for them.

  • @fartsandburps Yep, similar situation for me too. I too was born in 1995. It blows my mind when people who listen to generic pop criticise my music taste when the stuff I listen to stuff of true beauty which takes true talent to produce rather than just a contract with a multimillion dollar record label and a pretty face.

  • @fartsandburps There will always be those who march to the beat of their own drummer. Makes no difference when we were born or what our peers think of us. More folks admire that non-conformist pluck than you might realize.

  • @fartsandburps Do people really make fun of fun because of your music taste? God, the USA is so strange to me..

  • @fartsandburps keep up the great taste in music youngsta

  • @fartsandburps Well I've heard one of his songs on the radio some days ago, that's why I'm here right now actually^^ But sure, basically you're right, I feel pity for my friends' music taste too!

  • @fartsandburps its hard to take you seriously with a name like that

  • @fartsandburps i wonder if people voted you up because of your comment or because of your name

  • @fartsandburps

"little monsters" do not know what they are talking about. keep listening to stuff like this. the world needs more youngsters from the 90's and 00' to embrce this :)

  • @fartsandburps same here

  • @fartsandburps

I love all types of music. It's refreshing to see other people who don't just separatel music into what they like and don't like, but just appreciate music itself.

  • Is he playing on classical or acoustic guitar?

  • @Eljka686 Probably acoustic.

  • @Eljka686 Yeah, It's acoustic.

  • @Eljka686 its a steel string acoustic :)

  • @xChrisFoulkes93x Thanks a lot! =))

  • @Eljka686 I believe he is playing on an electric acoustic. Oh, and his use of sliders (i.e. glass and or metal) is brilliant.

  • @Eljka686 acoustic

  • obviously acoustic :)

  • @Eljka686 He's playing on an westen half acoustic, :p

  • @Eljka686 it is an acoustic.

  • @Eljka686 Acoustic.

  • So beautiful.

  • best song of all time

  • @hchssoccer33 I think its a reference to Christian Passion of Christ and Passion Plays that many churches put on around easter. The voice of the character (whether it be William or someone else) is talking about the normal feelings of wanting to be a better person and wanting to do the right things in life... he also wonders if he's heard (by God or whomever he is speaking to) when he speaks.

  • @IvaKarolina haha lol you just copied and pasted that from song meanings dot com ;)

  • sorry... it's just fuckin' amazing.

  • EARGASM!

  • @BlondVelvet same

  • Riding in the car with the top down on a warm night listening to this song on repeat...it doesnt get much better than that.

  • i found him from Frighten Rabbits LastFM station

  • so i was wondering if anyone knew what/who this song is about?

  • @hchssoccer33

He said in his deep rock drive concert that it's about wanting to be different and wanting to be better.

  • Amerrriceaaaaa, americeaaaaaaaaa! babayyyy nine eleveeeoonnn, nine eleeeveeeoooooonnnnn

  • I found him on a music blog site. Ive had it on repeat for the past three hours.

  • quality..

  • *-melts-*

  • Is that me???

  • i bless the day i run across "when you were young" by mistake.

I LOVE him and i really wanted to see him live but it seems he has no intentions of coming to Portugal :(

pitty, i would be there for sure!!

  • honesty in this song. i just uploaded his new song "the tide pulls from the moon" on my channel-- his new stuff is just as great.

  • it's better that he doesn't have more views this way we can keep him to ourselfs!

  • This is what my jesus looks like! love this guy

  • @itontoe Alexi Murdoch or José Gonzales (spelling?)

  • Do have this habit of hearing a song that is completely mindblowing awesome, and you sort of refuse to share it to others? Not for the fear of being scrutinized for your taste but because you want to keep this beautiful music to yourself?

  • Simply Beautiful Fitz its inspirational to see an artist who just puts his heart and soul into notes . I also admire the way his lifestyle he doesn't seem to be motivated to be at the top of the charts he just wants to travel and play his music to the people along his journey.

  • This guy should have soo many more views, but at the same time I love the way he hasn't got 1 million+ views...I guess it makes it more personal.

  • He is the perfect example of what modern folk should sound like. Seriously. He has a blend of Blue Grass, Acoustic Rock, and even slight hip-hop. He's a fucking genius.

  • Anyone know of any more artists with this style?

  • @irontoe City and Colour?

  • @irontoe

His style is folk acoustic..David Saw and Peter Bradley Adams are both good starts (if you like William) into this subgenre..thers alot of this type of music, just not alot of ppl know about it cuz ther to into the top 40 songs and such.

  • @skiingpoppinridin cheers mate, its a shame the top 40 is dominated by shite lol

  • @irontoe sufjan stevens....gogo

  • @irontoe iron & wine perhaps

  • @irontoe Ray LaMontange..or.. Bon Iver

  • Simply moving.

  • I love a man who is in touch with his emotions.

  • Gorgeous

  • I love this song and i love singing his songs.... my little cousin Maddy who is 3 calls me almost every night asking "Katwin can u sing me passwion pway and all the other songs" so william fittzsimmons is my cousins lullaby... its cute when im done i hear little snoring on my phone

  • How is it that musicians that try to tell a story and explore the gambit of emotions in their lyrics lay buried while some high-pitched kid wooes the world with a few “baby’s and Oh’s?”

  • @MrCopperhead1861

who cares? as long as you like the music then who cares?

  • @MrCopperhead1861

the answer is simple - the ruling elite has been conditioning the youth for generations and ages - true music does not fit their agenda, because it is not sexy and violent.

  • @MrCopperhead1861 Best comment of all time. Totally agree with you my friend.

  • @MrCopperhead1861 Be glad you're one the other side that appreciate deep feelings... in real words! I wish too they get more attention all these buried diamonds that keeps us -musical- breathing, so It's only in our will to get them "out there"... for the right ears!!

  • @MrCopperhead1861 this is actually the best comment i've seen on youtube

  • William Fitzsimmons + Dallas Green = Not only a perfect playlist, but two wonderfully talented gentlemen♥ what an inspiration.

  • @EpicAdventures11 I was thinking the same exact thing! :D

  • W.F. has managed a way to create with purpose. He has allowed himself to create the ultimate profound, yet relaxing musical experience. The subtle yearnings & discoveries within his lyrics and well orchestrated but not-overdone guitar riffs create a nearly transcendent experience. Thank you, Mr. Fitzsimmons for speaking to me and so many others.

  • @mitchroushart Wow...that was an awesome description!! You should be a writer...if you're not already! :-)

  • This is just so freaking good

Dallas Green you have met your match

  • Outstanding

  • i love his music.

  • the ocean, underwater, sun, rain, autumn, ice cream, mountains, snuggies, kisses in thunderstorms... just a few of the associations I have while listening to this capital piece of music. made my day. still does.

  • im just gonna come out and say it..... this guy is amazing! :)

  • His voice is like velvet...so spine chilling.

BEST SINGER-AWESOME BEARD-HUMBLE-EST PERSON EVER WITH GREAT AMAZING MUSIC.

  • @AbatabIndieTabs 'HEART' IS NOT A VERB.

  • This song is truly amazing.

  • Just... Incredible

  • one stupid person accidentaly pressed the dislike button

  • @nzonion Let's hunt them down and make them take it back!!!

  • Does anyone know where I can buy this album? I had a copy my friend gave me a few years ago but I lost it and I can't find it on Amazon, Play or HMV...! I'd love to own it.

This song is one of my favourites. It's stunning.

  • @BarefootBaby

I just searched it in Amazon music and found it.

  • This is what music is supposed to be - well made, coherent, with lots of soul :)

  • my best friend showed me this song - i love it. its my new favorite.

  • This is brilliant! how come i've never heard of this before?!

  • @Nemesais yeah.. i often ask myself this question.. everybodys knows the same songs, from famous singers or bands like lady gaga oder katy perry oder the black eyes peas or whatever... usually songs without any meaning... they sometimes are quite good of course , but songs like this, which really tell you something, how comes nobody knows them? how comes you have to look for them but really bad songs are on the radio all day... singers like william fitzsimmons deserve to be known! tehir music is

  • @Nemesais ..

...their music is their own work and not just written by anybody and sung without really meaning it!

sorry my english isn't the best i'm german!

  • This is one of those songs everyone needs to hear.

It's too gorgeous for not having that much recognition.

  • I almost wish there was a version of this song with just him playing guitar. Dont get me wrong, I love his voice, but his is simply beautiful. Takes my breath away everytime. <3

  • I love this song. The lyrics posted says 'all i see is his face' but i think that he says 'all i see vis my face'. Someone help me cause now i'm getting crazy! English is not my first language so any help would be nice.

  • when he plays, he does change the lyrics sometimes. usually just a different word here and there, but its not unusual for him to do that. but yeah you are right, he says all i see is my face.

  • Thanks. I saw a video where he says that he likes that a song can mean different things to different people and i think that that changes the meaning, at least for me. I love the song anyway.

  • @iamkrisx Vis isn't a word.

  • Great song! :D

  • brilliant artist and a beautiful song!

I just want to be not what I am today

I just want to be better than my friends might say

I just want a small part in your passion play

    very touching lyrics!:)
