  • i have a wrx 2011 (not an sti) - the manual says to connect the green cables to get the car into test mode, i cannot find loose green cables under the steering wheel. is that a step i have to take or not? this video seems to indicate i do not have to do that. please let me know.

  • @SamuelRitter1 it's actually on the passenger side. i had the same issue

  • @Ultima2032 how come when those green cables are connected the check engine light flashes? does that just mean that it IS in fact in test mode?

  • @jacqueal1 yeah it means it's in test mode. afterward I do realtime map changes at that point i don't put it into test mode just simply change maps such as valet mode. I believe you only need to put it on test mode when you do a complete reflash.

  • @SamuelRitter1 If you have the AP-SUB-003 model as shown in the video, you don't have to mess with the test port to do anything with the Access Port (reflash/data log, etc).

    In the "Getting started" booklet it mentions the test connector portion only refers to the SUB-002 and SUB-002 models.

  • How do you know which map you want to load or if its the right map that your car can handle or needs?

  • @koston777 If your going to tell somebody they are wrong you should make sure they actually are. They did make WRX in auto. 2008 was the last year they offered them.

  • Hi I purchased a used 2008 wrx hatchback auto. I purchased this Cobb AP and can't seen to find the obdII. Would it be in the same location as in this video? Right now I see what looks to be a white pin connector below the steering column under the dash?

  • i did all the steps, but when i chose the map i wanted it told me to cycle the key while the car was on. it said turn it to the 'off' position and then back to the 'on' position. when i did so i wouldn't let my car start. what the hell??

  • @blackcinema87 This is a common question on the Subarus! After the first time you install the AccessPORT, or whenever you reset the ECU, it will take an extra 10-15 seconds to start the car. Give it a moment, then crank the car over. If the install was 100% successful and the car will not turn over or fire after repeated attempts, please call us at 1-866-922-3059 and we will do what it takes to get you on the road!

  • @cobbtuning so is it only the first time you reset the ecu that it may cause this problem? I'm going to be picking up your accessport next week, so after i upload the stage 1 +sf intake map to my car, will it start on first try everytime after that first time that it doesnt? or do i have to wait 10-15 secs every single time before it will start?
