And, about "our lands". IIRC, Abkhazia wasnt a part of georgian state when finally conquered by tzarist Russia. And I recollect correctly for sure when I remember that georgian state, which existed and was regularly harvested for boys (for the janissary troops) and young women (for harems) by the ottomans then, joined the russian empire according the will of its (georgian) rulers. The caucasian war became huge exactly after that event, just to solidify the empire.

Another important step is that during 5 day of war a lot of NATO and US military equipment was captured by the russians, which is a subject to believe that Georgia was getting arms from US and NATO, not for defence. @alskinso It's a Czech-designed DANA 152mm self-propelled howitzer. It is based off of an 8x8 truck chassis, which keeps production and maintenance costs down in comparison to tracked, tank-based self-propelled guns.
That is maybe why it looks a little strange, most people are a lot more familiar with seeing more conventional tracked SPGs such as the German PzH and American Paladin.

And, about "our lands". IIRC, Abkhazia wasnt a part of georgian state when finally conquered by tzarist Russia. And I recollect correctly for sure when I remember that georgian state, which existed and was regularly harvested for boys (for the janissary troops) and young women (for harems) by the ottomans then, joined the russian empire according the will of its (georgian) rulers. The caucasian war became huge exactly after that event, just to solidify the empire.

Georgia was arming on purpose the proof is actual (NATO,US,Ukrain,Chinese arms,assets in georgian army). Georgian army was also instructed by US and NATO instructors. Special forces of georgian army(infantry) had several training operations outside of the region, in Iraq.Its obvious Georgia was preparing for expansion of South Ossetia.

Another important step is that during 5 day of war a lot of NATO and US military equipment was captured by the russians, which is a subject to believe that Georgia was getting arms from US and NATO, not for defence. Georgian army was mobile a first and the most obvious fact that they were preparing for a strike, large numbers of personnel carriers(various type), as well as aircraft based.

@Combinus002 I`m not a "weapons expert "not "weaponary expert" at all, there are videos on the net and as i said you can easily find them.you tried to deny bombing our territory with those types of weapons so i answered.as for rights,Russia had no right to recognize Abkhazia and the-so called South Ossetia as independent countries, what would you do if The USA and NATO recognized Chechnya as an independent country ?

How georgian army crossed the South Ossetia boarder and apeard in Tskhinvali? Because they wanted to remove UN peacekeepers by the force, and get the control of South Ossetia. South Ossetia doesnt want to be with Georgia, its not independed lets say Russia has interest in South Ossetia, russian bases are established in the region.

Georgia also taked a major part by allowing chechen separatists to cross the georgian boarder and hide, from the russian army forces.

@Combinus002 No, those actions are nothing compared to an obvious recognition of the territory.and why do you call them "terrorists"?they are just fighting for their independence and they are using all means necessary to defend their homeland.so if it is permissible for Ossetians and Abkhazians to have the right to self-determination why it is not permissible for Chechens ? Russia is simply pursuing a policy of double standard towards the Caucasus .

@giojiu The independence for Chechnya was needed to get the control over the gas and oil refineries for the west interest, the Caucasus has its own strategic importance. That was the point for starting military invasion on by the russians, to remain the control over Chechnya. Russia tries to defend their own interests in the Caucasus as well as USA does in the middle east.

@giojiu West would buy oil refineries and storage for their large oil manufacture companies, from Chechnya, a new pipe line would be established thru.Chechnya would meet any inventation from US/NATO with full agreement by setting their bases inside of the country, thats called "modern independence" where countries are trapped,occupied by the needs of the foreign governoment polices.Chechnya had only 1 choice to be with Russia or to be with US,so how could you call it "independence"?

@giojiu A simple provocation act like inverting a former part of the superpower country(USSR) into independed state (after USSR collapse) is more likely done, and has a direct support by only one country in this world USA. They will create all possible uncomfortable actions against Russia until it will be devided on the separate self-controled (so called independed states), for their interests.

@giojiu Retreating is also a tactical move, if commanders remains a control of the amry during retreat it would prove itself stable in the future, but it was obvious georgian commanders have lost the control of the army, the army colapsed, georgian soldiers were runing away throwing their weapons, some even picked up civilian clothes to hide themselves from the russian army.

@portnoyere Легко, и при чем тут грузины? Расчет был на скорость, но просто не получилось, потому что Россия тоже готовилась к этому сценарию. Если бы туннель завалили - вполне могли выиграть. Нельзя отрицать очевидное: в 2008 Грузия атаковала посты МС, только через день наши туда добрались.
