@Musickt196 They were all made to play during the Christmas season. most of the ones that aired on tv played a week or 2 before christmas. Also, every girl has a christmas story of her own

its amazes me how back then they actually allowed the kids to put on a play about the birth of Christ, which is the center of Christmas. Now a days, you have to say happy holidays in order not to offend someone.... sad

I don't like this version as much as the others. they skipped a whole bunch of good things like for one brad is missing, then they skipped her whole perm/ wanting her hair curly things, and her getting sick from it., and them finding gifts for christmas from there dad, and the whole war effort they girls did collecting bottlecaps and the quilt, they skipped halloween the pranks ricky and molly played on each other, and the puppies.those were all my favorite parts in the book.

The movie was good, but the end is completely different in the books. In the books, Molly's hair is constantly wet from curling it for the performance and she ends up with a very bad cold. Molly has to stay home and miss the performance (her family goes to the performance). However, the ending is really happy because Molly gets to be the first one to see and welcome her father home. After reading the books and seeing the movies, I happen to prefer both. They're all great.
