Awesome guitar playing on this version!! Awesome voice Kasim!! Oops is one of my favorite albums from Utopia. Todd & Kasim, two of the best musicians ever!!!
Way to go, Kaz ! Sultin has the perfect, soaring rock and roll singing voice - just as strong as it was in 1976. This is one of my favorite Utopia songs. Todd and Kazim do great together.
Todd has been kickin' it for more than 40 years and only gets better ! "Liars Live" is one of his best recorded live shows on DVD if you dont have it, GET IT !. Saw him at Radio City Music Hall NYC in the 70's during his "Pyramid Era " One of the best live shows ever, pure genius and AWESOME guitar work ! Rock On Todd !
....and again. Oops Wrong Planet absolutely fucking rawks. Gangrene ???...What kind of a fucking song title is that ??? Hey for all you ladies out there, you have a track on Oops titled " My Angel ". It's so purrrrty.
WOW! So cool to discover these great videos of Todd! I've seen many a concert but could never get enough. I've been priveledged to have recently met Todd outside a venue and have a picture taken with him. He is one of a kind!
(Setlist: Trapped, Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Abandon City, Love of the Common Man, Back on the Street, Black and White, Crazy Lady Blue, Love in Action, Death of Rock 'n Roll, Communion With the Sun, Sunset Blvd., Last Ride, Gangrene, My Angel, Seven Rays, Heavy Metal Kids, Singring and the Glass Guitar, Utopia Theme, Just One Victory.)
I heard them do this live in 1977 in Toledo, Oh, when 'Oops' first came out. They took the stage in front of a curtain, in black jeans and white T-shirts and opened with this song. After a break, the curtain dropped, and there was the Ra/Pyramid/Willie motorcycle drum stage set. F***ing Awesome! Will never forget the first of my 15 Todd shows (even interviewed him while a student at Ohio Univ.) This song has the same ferocity I remember from back in '77. Just incredible. Todd. Best. Ever.
I went to see a show on that 77 tour in St. Louis, MO at the FOX Theater. Only concert I've ever been to where ONE band had an intermission. Actually it was like seeing two bands for the price of one. Singring & The Glass Guitar was epic. Smash it, smash it, smash that ice guitar. lawl.
Your all yuppie Trapped.. you let all this shit happen... starting with..electing Regan..you assholes..now they have you in there greedy grip good job voting for bush!!!assholes
Not really a power trio..check out the Wizard of Oz playing guitar behind the curtain on the right.I am a Runt fan before somebody tries to attack my comment(gasp).
not so much a wizard as a roadie (i think)tuning a guitar...look at 3:03, you can see him place the guitar in its stand, and adjust the cords on the floor (so Kaz won't trip again!)
The drummer is an ex ~ drummer from the band The Tubes PoffyTheCucumber. His name is Trey Sabatelli. If interested you can find the DVD. It is titled just as you see it in the video description. " Todd Rundgren Live In San Francisco ".
Hey fucknut.I've got a life, been to approx. 36-40 shows, seen Todd with Utopia,I was making a fucking joke. They are called a guitar tech dipshit.Geez YouTube abounds with idiots!!
Of course this is from the Live in San Fran DVD and was filmed during the Power trio tour and they really focused on Todd's guitar oriented material ! Pick it up to be sure !
Its amazing, you listen to the crap that passes for music on the radio these days and then you listen to real musicians who in the twilight of their careers can still blow the punk pretenders away. Great vid rmiyares, thank you!
And when you look at who's in the R&R Hall Of Fame, and Todd's not, it surely turns my stomach!
The man didn't stop after, "Hello It's Me."
Got to his website and see all the bands he's produced over the years!
He was a victim of the, unlike here, 4-5 minute song, that surely didn't fit in with the "Big Hair," era of the 80's, and some of the alternative bands he produced in the 90's!
Todd never sold out, didn't care about the fortune and sure doesn't care about the R & R Hall of Fame which is a joke. That's why I love him, he followed his brilliant mind in whatever musical direction it went.
I'm sorry if you felt I stated, or inferred that Todd cared one way or the other about being a member of the H.of F.
I do believe, he is a victim of his(to use your word, "Brilliant," ability to continue to evolve, musically, keeping and adding to those who have been fans since the late 60's.)
The Hall is more concerned with "Longevity," over, "Quality," so we will continue to enjoy, "A wizard, A True Star."
Write his name- Wikipediadotcom, if you haven't for, "Genius."
Of course the constant flow of cash he got from his producer's royalties for Meat Loaf's "Bat Out Of Hell" didn't hurt. :-D But hey, whatever works - Todd is awesome!
Stay for a moment. Stay for awhile..hypnotized by sight and sound..Empty feelings bring a frown...only love can make you smile. RA and OOPs was on every 8-Track car sterio in my high school!!

Yes, it's a roadie - but Kaz never did trip over cords - he broke his ankle from synchronized jumping like a loony.
What a powerful, powerful, punchy song! Full marks to the drummer (who is it? - can anyone tell?) for keeping a solid groove, rather than rushing.
