Congress and the American people stood behind George Bush when the war started.
I don't know which is sadder, that many American's have an elective memory concerning things like this, or that the members of Congress play to that elective memory so much.
If American's, no matter what their party affiliation, would face the truth that MOST, if not ALL, members of Congress believed that Saddam was a threat and needed to be removed, we might actually have an HONEST dialogue about the war in Iraq.
