  • If you want to watch live performances watch the bbc show LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND...and stop fucking moaning about the fact that they are obviously not singing this song live

  • bernie you twat !!! i dident think you could get this low, you should have gunned down the pet shop boys.

  • Mixer: put in a bowl, 1 smiths, 1 new order, 2 pet shop boys= ELECTRONIC!!!!

  • @MrThemutsnuts What are you moaning about it here for? Do you think anyone gives a shit?

  • Better than than the one hit digital shit songs they put out now....I don'"t care what anyone says I still love this song!

  • Karl Pilkington's been getting away with it all his life.

  • Sumner, Tennant, Marr (dream team)

  • PERFECT POP SONG!

  • Marr promised to never use synths with the smiths, Tennant was militantly anti-guitar, something had to give! great track

  • @MrSlimjimk He Did On The Queen Is Dead And Strangeways Here We Come He Was Credited As Orchestrazia Ardwick!

  • new order rock and pet shop boys brilliant...anyone who says any different dont know there music

  • @Ke1ithLemon gosh !

  • Voices of angels!!!!!!!!

  • New Order and PSB, brilliant !!!

  • what exactly did johnny marr do on this song? best Pet Shop Boys song outside their catalogue. Bernard Summer is a gem however

  • it's playback, they're doubling themselves...

unfortunately... one of the gratest songs ever

  • it's playback, they're doubling themselves...

  • Johny Marr!!!!

  • David Palmer was a distant cousin of i bloke iknew from Finglas dublin, his whole family were so proud of of hin in ABC!

  • The drummer here on this mimed performance is David Palmer of ABC . . .

  • For those of you who are moaning about lip syncing/miming, DON'T!!

The BBC programme Top Of The Pops, which used to be on BBC1 on Thursday nights, used to insist that ALL acts on the show were mimed. That's how it was back then. The artist had no say in the matter, if they wanted to appear, they did as they were told. It was only in the last 10 years or so of the show, that they allowed "live" performances.

  • @smiffy1071

New Orders top of the pops appearance in 1983 wasn't mimed/lip synched my good man.

  • Peeing here - Neil Tennant looks like a 30 year old Jeremy Clarkson.

    ;-)

  • @cattygirl1000 only hes much shorter than Jeremy

  • It's amazing to see how good music used to be... Should have been born a decade or two earlier... :[

  • yes,he's lip-syncing.he takes the mike away, and you can still fucking hear him...!

  • How COOL!!! :D I never knew Neil from Pet Shop Boys sung in this song. Thats awesome, and I love both Electronic & Pet Shop Boys!!! :D Awesome!!!!!!!!

  • is he lip syncing?

  • Ohhhhhhhhh. Tjhis is good.

  • Best tune ever. simple as. ?

  • Why did they bother letting singers have microphones during TOTP performances?

  • This song reminds me the times that I flew as a crew of Varig Brazilian Airlines ... late 80s early 90s. A beautiful song by Bernard Sumner and Jony Marr and participation of Neil Tennant. Also reminds me the club in times in Lorena - SP (ClubeComercial). It was really very good time with this awesome songs... (Eletronic, New Order, Pet Shop Boys...). Brazil.

  • @AndradeWanke

Well, it seems like someone here misses Brazil a lot, eh?

  • Song for the FREEMASONS.

  • i spotted this song in a new book called 1001 songs you must hear before you die. rightly so....just a perfect track

  • i think this a genius song.........perfect proper pop

  • WHAT A COMBINATION SUMNER AND MARR

  • CUANDO ESCUCHO ESTA ROLA ME DAN GANAS DE PONERME A BAILAR Y CANTAR ! NEW ...PET !

  • love this tune!

  • Great combination!!!

  • i recently saw an acoustic version of this song released this year, 2010, and as much as i love this song, his voice is so different now. his voice cracks a little and he sings the lower notes more now. but he was so handsome back then and had such an amazing voice. i still listen to this song and disappointed 20 years later. i guess it's because it's tied into my youth when i was clubbing and had boyfriends galore. life has really slowed down since then and the music isn't quite as good now...

  • top choon - very noble of Tennant to go on TOTP just for the backing vocals ..

  • geil

  • woah!!!!!!

  • superb.......................

  • Neil was just invited to sing hes bit thats all! MArr a Sumner were the bosses! cheers

  • Great !!!!!

  • yip

  • Lovely song. Brings back a herd of good memories.

  • Great song,great Electronic,great Neil Tennant.

  • The Electronic project were group by Neil, Bernard and Johnny Marr together.

  • so whats the deal with Neal Tennant being in this?

  • Eh, not quite golfhk's explanation, I'm afraid. Electronic is Mr. Sumner and Mr. Marr's project; however, on this song (and 1 of the songs on Electronic's first album) Mr. Tennant co-wrote and provided guest vocals.

  • Try to figure it out.

  • Bernard...... will your side parting marry me? xxx

  • It's a shame Electronic didn't produce more music.

  • They made the best two albums ever. What more do you want. Jesus H Christ.

  • the uk still and allways have hade the best music output in the world .. put it this way mr jimi hendrix had to come to the uk to make it big!!!

  • @imthestig74 That's pretty funny. All rock n' roll is based on Amerocan blues. America invented Rock n' roll. and for the most part, bands don't "succeed" unless they have made it in the US. I visited the US once, amazing place. I wish I lived there.

  • prick

  • were is this music today?..... just shite rnb and american bollox!

  • Hooray, the sound's back! WMG's reign of terror is ebbing!... Hopefully...

Wonderful song. It's almost surreal seeing those three on one stage at the same time... although I wish Mr. Marr had more prominence...

  • Next time think twice what records you buy- Simple as that: Stop buying WMG Records. Theiy tend to forget, that without us, the music apreciating public, WMG wouldn't exist. Fuck'em

  • i didnt think WMG could screw with this...i hate them..as if anyone could record this and it would be (cd quality) they seriiosly take the mickey

  • don't worry I'll just sing along!

  • el AUDIO

  • WANKERS!!!!!

  • fuck you wmg punk ass capitalists

  • WTF?

  • I think its time to say bye to you tube, This crappy, 20 year old totp recording will not harm future sales of this song. Absolute idiots !

  • beautifully put

  • F. off WMG

  • these idiots think if they remove the MTV here and we will go to the shop and buy. I tell you , if we are to buy it we already have bought it. grow up.

By the way I did have this CD

  • I thought it couldn't get any worse,

The Mrs left me, took the kids along, took my money, Worst of all she took my fuckings CD'S.. Then some fucker wont let me listen to it on you tube... Bastards !!!

  • What a tosser!

  • a bunch of fucking cunts...

  • wankers

  • I OWN this record! shouldn't I be able to LISTEN to it?!

bah, like ANYONE who doesn't have the record will imediately run to the store and buy it, just because it has no sound on youtube........ morons...

  • I bought this record in 1989. Twice, actually. I rather thought I'd already given the record company sufficient financial reward for releasing it. Not enough, it seems, to listen to it here. Thanks, "The Man", for once again demonstrating your open-minded attitude to the future.

  • 3 of the best musical minds of our generation

  • Thanx for the post.

I´d never seen this performance before.

Shame the TV director missed Jonny Mar´s guitar solo.

  • this is awesome. love this song

  • Better quality than the copy I have!

    :)

I love this song so much.
