  • Incroyable....my favourite song from a very beloved movie on Youtube...merci!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think the same guy that directed matewan directed this movie

  • @WVliberty true!! John Sayles is the name...

  • @TheElfowl Matewan is a good movie never watched this one though, i'm sure he did a good job capturing the culture in this movie

  • I love this song!!!!!!! The movie is great as well. One of these days I am going to New Orleans to attend that Heritage Jazz Festival, I think it's called.

  • you have to go to Acadiana, not New Orleans for this feeling. New Orleans is more jazzy. Go to Festivals Acadians in Lafayette.

  • I lived in Lafayette for 10 years ! Also, Cecilia, Sunset, and Youngsville. Loved it and miss it terribly !

  • This song - 'Danse de Mardi Gras' -lead me to hunt down "The Balfa Brothers Play Traditional Cajun Music, Vols. 1-2". Two other favorite songs are the instrumental 'Chère Joues Roses' and 'Chère Bassette'. Hearing this again makes me want to hunt down Dewey Balfa and Tracy Schwarz' - 'Traditional Cajun Fiddle: Instruction' on Smithsonian Folkways (FW08361) and learn cajun fiddle on my own! Also search out Dewey Balfa's 'Cajun Fiddle, Old and New' (FW08362)

  • Este filme é muito emocionante!!!!!!

Um dos melhores que ja vi.......

    Realmente, fico sem palavras.....

  • What a great music!

  • Damn Mary McDonnell's beautiful. She's one of those rare women that seems to get hotter the older she gets.

  • I love this song and the Bayou scenery. Makes me want to be there.

It's almost Mardi Gras time again! AAYYEEEE!!

  • Beautiful song !

  • Wow! Great Music! the Heart Of Cajun!

  • Great song! Awesome, awesome movie!!! I've watched it for the first time not too long ago. Seen it three times already. I never tire of Mary McDonnell's performance in this one. And the cajun flavor in this film makes it even more special to me. (The cajuns are my people's cousins. I'm an acadian from up north) ;)

  • haha this movie is shot about 5 minutes from where i live.

  • damn, you're lucky :)...greetings from Germany!

  • thank you so much for posting this!

I remember, a few years ago during my awful summer job, I would watch this sequence before I would go to work to put me in a good mood. It worked every time. It'such a great song.

  • Thanks for posting this. I love the Mardi Gras song playing as they go through the bayou. I loved this movie about the woman loving the Cajun man. No one sings this song like the great Dewey Balfa.

  • great tune! more balfa brothers please.
