Nice chat. I side with Garin over Parsons. I think it really comes down to your attitude of the Public. If you think the Public is a bunch of ill educated villagers and the Artist is an intellectual giant then you will need to "dumb" your art down. How sad. When artists realize again the Public is equally as important to a piece as the artist is then that marriage will birth something beautiful. Without honoring the Public the artist is just left masturbating in paint.
