My favourite bands are Riverside, Pain Of Salvation , Kingcrow and Porcupine Tree...tha latest album by PoS are not so good to me...but Kingcrow are rising up as one of the more interesting prog bands out there. Their latest album Phlegethon is a masterpiece in the same vein of the first albums by POS
@tehGmoney Pain of Salvation used to be the biggest promise of prog metal but there last 3 albums are constant deterioration, especially the last 2 which are barely prog. Whoever likes Riverside, should listen to other great Polish bands: Animations, Osada Vida, Votum, Disperse, Division by Zero, Satellite
@TalRudess I understand what you're saying, but I wouldn't call their last three albums a "deterioration." They are indeed totally different from their earlier. At first, I didn't really find Scarsick very "proggy" but surprisingly it is, yet it subtle ways. Although, it's not as heavy and technical as One Hour by the Concrete Lake, Perfect Element, Remedy Lane. Either way, they're extremely talented musicians. Maybe after they finish their Road Salt series, they will adopt a more "edgy" sound!
@YazoDlack YOU CAN BE YOURSELF, YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DUPLICATE WHOLE UNIVERSE AND PUT IT IN SAME PLACE AND TAME AS THIS ONE IS...................OH NOOOO YOU WOULDN'T KNOW THAT YOU ARE YOUR SELF THEN
@sniperGasMask Mabey I have heard the wrong stuff from Opeth. Those other bands are awsome but from the stuff I've heard from Opeth I dont know why you stck them in to. Can you make any suggestions of albums of songs to change my mind about Opeth?
@ahigherstate Most of Opeth's stuff is an acquired taste. I can say that I didn't like them at first, but after listening to them for a while, I love them now. I'd start off with the Damnation album (no death metal), and then to Blackwater Park (a bit of death stuff).
@ahigherstate The entire Damnation album to start off with. You can also try the songs A Fair Judgement, To bid you farewell, Coil, Hessian Peel, Hex Omega, When, The Moor, Face of Melinda, The night and the silent water, Nectar, Drapery Falls ...
Totally agree... I'm a big sigur ros fan so i'll still just put sigur ros above Karnivool... but Sound Awake is the best album i've heard in 4 or 5 years... absolutely incredible
@sniperGasMask you must like Tool??? APC, Deftones, all those bands in that genre im guessing? If you haven't heard of a band called katatonia, u may like them. cheers
thank u riverside for being in my life
