This thing is a biatch to use in a high speed match. the actual position itself is ok to get into, but the sweep itself against a purple or blue belt is difficult as heck.

@iPumpIron4Fun Yeah, lots of moves get more tough to pull off when rolling with high Blues and Purples...they've seen most of these and know how to avoid them....

The bicep crush is LEGAL for brown and black belts only under IBJJF rules. Here are restrictions listed for browns and blacks:

I love this sweep. I never work with Spider guard too much though. I better get it down better before NAGA in February.

I love this move, I like to use an underhook on the leg rather than grabbing the pants.

I do both, grabbing the pants can be faster sometimes, underhooking is more secure though...both are good options

bicep crush is illegal in all BJJ competition, as well as the shin crush. this is however a good sweep to use against an agressive opponent.

The bicep crush is not legal in Judo, but the Spider Guard is, the proble with Judo is the Refs will stand you up if you don't get a submission fairly quick.

@kosenjudo The old school judo rules were better for sure. It's sad because they have more or less lost half of there art.

good technique, but its svery dangerous showing that 5technique since many will try to do it without realisingwhat is actually ahappening. hpefully nobody will get their bicepes.

Not in the Purple Belt level, not sure about brown or black division. Every tournament has different rules though.
