most ppl here are wrong, the Vtec-e system is a SOHC system that only works on the intake valves, so you dont get the famous vtec kick, its only to give an extra intake boost on higher revs. the normal Vtec system kicks in around 5k rpm and works on the exhaust valves.
@fazri1985 yup, its working on 12 valves when there is a low load (actually it also opens the remaining 4 valves with very slight lift). And when the rpm are above 2500rpm(on 5th over 3000-3500 depends on the load) it opens all valves.

It has the horsepower of a performance honda vtec engine of the same size, but the fuel economy when running low load. Does around 130hp when you want it with vtec and get's 55 miles to the gallon when you want it e-vtec, best of both worlds if a Honda engine suits you.
