Thumbs up if you're listening to this high - not because of drugs, but because the second you noticed that a forty-year-old progressive rock classic has over 99% likes on Youtube in 2012 put in a state of extreme euphoria and re-instilled your hope in humanity.
My dad first turned this song on for me when I was 5 years old and told me all he knew about the band and prog rock. It was an unforgettable introduction. Love it.
Great plan, the benefit of artists together in the science of understanding! The value of art along with the value of the soul is being lost in so much disagreement on the trail calling anything creative, there is more value placed on real understanding as there is more value placed on real art that comes from this deep and want to see and Huge and do so ... Being
I often think which is the best prog rock song of all times - it's either this or Thick as a brick by Jethro Tull or then King Crimson's In the court of the Crimson King. In any case, this is something so good and brilliant that I can only hope some day someone will compose something like this again. Especially, the ending part is simply breathtaking...
Bought the ALBUM in 1975 and still one of my favorites of all time. Its a great band performance ! all the guys are cooking and playing tight together ! Andy: underated by a mile ! gr8 guitarist. Peter playing beautiful keyboards with good sounds ! RIP Peter Bardens ( buried in the Forever Cemetery in Hollywood CA). Drums n bass so together ! Brilliant music
1993 i first heard that masterpiece i still looking at the sky and still wondering why? Wondering why all the good human feelings this music brings out goes away.
One of our guys selected this and some other Camel tunes for motorcycle drag racing's website SATURDAY NIGHT CONCERT. Dragbikers have good taste in music.
Camel was more prog than Floyd; more prog than King Crimson, more prog than Yes, more prog than Genesis, more prog than Roxy Music, more prog than Jethro tull - Camel was PROG!
More instrumental albums? Huh? The only pure instrumental album they ever did was the snow goose and even that had some wordless vocals on it. It's their instrumental passages that smoke(just like with most great prog bands).
This is total KSHE -95 song takes me back to class where we could play music he was such a cool teacher he would say stuff like how does this music make you feel and told us we had to write stuff about it. He was such a Hippie at heart ;)
I've discovered Camel just today and I truly feel like I've been looking for that kind of sound all my life. Already ordered a few albums via Amazon. :D Probably the most underrated band in history. Progressive symphonic rock at its best.
@john083055 Unfortunately, that is a big part of the population. It frightens me that suck a large portion of people need medical attention. It raises the question of how much better society would function if this was not the case lol. I just wish more people could comprehend this music :( ! Too many people can only understand simplistic, unoriginal, interesting pop music designed to hypnotize the minds of the ignorant masses. Music like this, true music, has so much more meaning and feeling.
Haiku poet Michael Dylan Welsh was talking about Camel on Facebook, so I had to check them out--one of the few prog bands I never listened to growing up in the '70s and '80s. I regret that now. Very nice. The keyboardist and guitarist had the same interplay that made The Doors famous. Towards the end, they utilise a riff that must have inspired Iron Maiden's 'Phantom of the Opera'. Camel deserve more recognition.
@phtheph hmm, i sometimes wonder how some people's minds work.;my language skills is not the focus here, you need to satisfy your ego in real world, and sorry for yourself not for me :)or just listen the song , hellooo, there is a video if you look up, ok ,... i am rephrasing everything for the retarded people like you...: the point is not to be gramatically correct here, nobody cares, is it ok up to now phuta?suprise me:)) haha idiot

I've noticed my favorite songs have no lyrics for at least the first two minutes.
THIS is music. Not a 4-minute pounding on drums session and screaming like an idiot. This has MELODY. It has RHYTHM.
Rule of thumb: if it was played in the sixties or seventies, it's most likely better than anything on the current Billboard 200.
