the smoothness of moving items from one box to another are not realistic. Not even iOS is that smooth. People will be disappointed when their tablet isnt like this.I used Android 2.1 and it was no where near that and was almost up where my iPod touch is. I do find it sad that it claims that Google talk has "hundreds of millions" of users.lmao (I hope that was a joke)

@marquesbrownlee I'm a little surprised they went with a predominantly blue color scheme as opposed to a green one. I would have liked green better than blue. At any rate, if it weren't for the horrible software development kit *cough*eclipse*cough* and the lack of extensive online documentations and tutorials I would jump ship to android. I must admit that having no flash really sucks, but the flip side is that it is much easier to develop for iOS devices and the user experience is very nice.

did you know that even the NASA uses eclipse as an platform to send and receive data to their interplanetary Rovers?

and yes, I am currently working on 2 different Android Applications, and also writing my bachelor thesis about an eclipse plugin that is being developed at my university (google "code-recommenders")

I dont think there are any IDEs that is better suited for Java development than eclipse....

@crasherball That's great for you!!! Too bad that doesn't make eclipse any more usable for me. Even if I tried to force myself to like it and work four times as hard to do even a simple application, what pay off is there? To my knowledge, paid apps are only available in the US market. Also, PayPal isn't a payment option, which is probably why the paid apps that do exist are pirated. Also, the Android market is very disorganized. My apps would be very difficult to find.

sure, paypal isnt supported by the official android market - but the great thing about an open platform is, that your not bound to one single company

there are alot of 3rd Party market apps - and some of them even support alternative payment-options (like paypal for example)

but you are right, there arent that many paid apps on the android market - but i think thats because its more feasible to release free apps......

but if you have an ad-supported app thats free - your constantly getting money from people using your app (and its going to have a much bigger userbase anyway, because there is no payment-hurdle)

the official android market isnt disorganized-you can mostly find whatever you want on it-and you can also look at certain developer's "other apps" (also try AppBrain)

its not as good as the ios-appstore yet, no doubt!

If you want to compare something like the Galaxy Tab or the Moto Xoom to the iPad that 's a completely different story. They're too similar to love one and say the other sucks.
