I need to find a better v6 for my '87 S-10 Tahoe. My 2.8 wont even get out of it's own way. Only 223K on it but I cant go over the Mountain Highway without dropping to 45 MPH uphill-grade in overdrive. In reg.drive I can hold it at 50 MPH but it gets hot quick...I think it's a Boat Anchor to be truthfull,(the Motor) but the Truck has been fun as heck ! ...btw... nice vid :)
Sharps is on the east side of Town and I was on the west side between Smith Bridge Road and Tuscumbia Baptist Church. Last time I was thru there they had fixed the road so you could almost drive a car thru.
nice rig, I had an 88 with a 4.3 vortec I loved it, it never gave me a single problem..I pulled out several fullsize trucks with it...sure do miss it..
I have an '88 S10 Tahoe 4x4 and it's real nice. Completely stock, even with the open diff's, pulled my friend's 1989 Mitsubishi four-door Montero. ANd that sucker has 31's and a lift on it. :D But I also have the 4.3L TBI. I like it over the Vortec. And with the Jasper rebuild I have, it gives me 203 hp and 314 ft. lbs. of torque. I don't need more than that right now, haha. But they are great motors. I agree. ^_^
i have had a 93' blazer 4x4 with the 4.3 Vortec. and i currently have a 92 Sonoma 5spd, with a 4.3 TBI. the tbi's are just easier to work on, and seem to last alot longer than what the vortec's do. just my 2 cents..
wow it looks just like mine besides the front bumper, but urs has a vortec.......wth did I buy the only one that dont have a vortec engine......I got a fuckin 4.3 fuel injected
I wish I had the 4.3 tbi. The vortec (CPI) is a good engine but I will have to do ALOT more work to put a v8 tbi in. The vortec can be used as a tbi with tbi intake. Thanks for your comment, if you don't mind next time don't use the foul language because I have young children that like to watch "dads blazer" in the mud. Have a blessed day.
I had 84 with the 2.8 and my buddies and I FLOGGED it. It ran great just a little low on power but that kept us from breaking things, "most" of the time.
1/4" x12" C channel bolted in place of bumper with straightened tow hooks for more strenghth. 1/4" plate welded in the center of the C with the winch bolted to it. 1/4" x6" C channel protecting the winch and the fairlead bolted to it. winch and bumper weigh 200-250lbs.
maybe/maybe not but it gets the job done. In the video it does have stock gears, engine, tranny. It has 33's and home made front and rear bumpers thanks for your comment though. Sorry you did not like it.
It has a 3 inch body lift, 1-2 inch longer rear shackles, about 1 inch torsion bar crank. I also had to cut the front fenders and hammer the inner fender back to fit those 33's. The rear had to have very little trimming but we did beat the rib flat inside the fender.
thats nothing dislikse button he i come
