I listened in my childhood years with my dear late Dad to Jim Reeves and I have fab memories whenever I hear them.Never forgot hem now in my 50s. Our new grandchildren will not get away without growing up with them as well. I think more kids should have calming music to listen to and the world would be a better place.

While true that Crosby is the man most associated with this song and that the two go together like fish and chips, there's something about the heartfelt sincerity of Jim's version that makes it not one whit inferior to Bing's rendering of this classic.

Another song Jim recorded was "Mary's Boy Child", but, for me, no one, not even Jim can top the recording by Harry Bellafonte. I'm sorry in the delay in replying but my PC has been infected by a Trojan(virus) which was blocking full access to my messages and I could not use the reply function.
