I know that Alan Silvestri is the main composer and movie scorer of this film.....however for this song, does ANYone know who the actual Tenor Sax player is on this song???? I've wondered this for YEARS as I LOVE his tone!
In 2002 A Limited Edition Soundtrack CD was released 3000 copies. It's now out of print and sells for around a hundred bucks now on ebay and Amazon.com.
I've never understood why it was so hard to find this, let alone the soundtrack album for this movie. Then when I worked part-time on a couple of FM and AM radio stations which we featured movie music, someone told me that the problem is not just this movie,it's almost every movie that Alan Silvestri composes for, for some reason he never negoitates the rights to release the album, what a shame he writes such cool music
Only a person with no heart heard this song...saw that boat sailing away down the streets of New York, and did not believe that Joan Wilder and Jack Colton would live happily ever after...Of course, real life was a MUCH different story, but Alan Silvestri made it possible not even to think about that!
The words used by a guy into movie scores:"What? Romancing the stone? Are you serious, that's one of the worst and most cringeworthy scores ever made for any movie." This was the reaction when I asked why he didn't included it as one of Silvestri's hits.
Maybe it wasn't too bombastic sounding or "epic" (one really overrused word to describe something) for his taste.
This is one of Silvestris quality works and is as if made for the era, movie and atmosphere of the movie. I still believe that.
love this end closing theme so much. I used to rewind my vhs tape over and over just to listen to this song, then turn it up real loud!!! such a catchy chorus when the sax kicks in!!!!
hahaha awesome song, loved this movie when i watched it a few years ago..now i wanna watch it again! Thanks very MUCH for this upload in gorgeous quality! x)!
Oh Dear Lord....thank you soooooo much for this upload! I use to work in a movie theatre back in the mid early to mid 80's when this movie was out and I use to look forward to cleaning up the theatre after each of the showings of this movie just so that I could hear this song! Do you know if it actually has a title and who were the musicians?
Wow. Thanks for the upload. I wonder where it came from, as I tried to find this and the soundtrack was never released. I ended up doing a rip from my dvd so I could listen to it elsewhere. But this version is super nice. Thanks!!!
One of the best films ever in my book, and such a GREAT piece of music - thanks a whole lot for this one, I'll be playing it til my neighbors complain!
Good Lord, I have had this stuck in my head for 26 years! I absolutely loved the end of this film and the boat on the avenue... "no, hopeful romantic."..... Thanks for the memories!
AT LAST !!!!! I love this piece ! I remember stopping as I left the theatre when this song came on and ended up dancing in the aisle with my date . And we weren't the only ones ! Thanks for putting this one up .
Oh the memories of 1988...Think this was on the telly by then in England. I would go out and get full of mud and crap in the rain in an effort to be as Jack....Had a little cap gun...I must have made the streets of Swindon Wiltshire a cool looking place as a 6 year old trekking through Columbia...
thank you so much for uploading this song. I thought I was the only one who love the heck out of this song. iTunes offers the song, but you have to buy the entire album.
Thank you so much for uploading this difficult to find song! Whenever this entertaining movie is shown, I always watch through the final credits in order to enjoy that fantastic saxophone.
Wooooow thank you soooooo much you are a true star. one of my favourite 80s movies and an ultimate amzing soundtrack. Jazz just has a special place in my heart. THANK YOOOOOOU XXXXX
