The ad, and the innuendo, would work just as well with a white/asian/arabic/whatever actor, so how does the actor being black make it racist? I'm somewhat lost...

I honestly believe anyone who singled this out as racist because Tyrone is played by a black actor and is sexy is the racist one themself.

Most people have seen these adverts dozens of times and the fact Tyrone is played by a black actor doesnt make a difference and they didnt think on it at all

I find it more racist that you cant watch the advert for its Stiff upper lip acting Fry and an up to the times young handsome Tyrone without shouting "black guy ! innuendo! racism!"

This video is deemed racist because it relies on fetishization and hypersexual stereotypes, not because someone's skin color happens to be mentioned. Of course, if you've never had to conceptualize your own race because your skin color is the standard, then I suppose that thought would never cross your mind. It's easy to say something isn't racist or racially insensitive when you don't have to think about your skin color on a daily basis.

What I don't understand, is that every time someones "color" is mentioned, it is deemed racist. Why can't it just be appreciated? The longer we keep focusing on it as a negative, the longer it will be. To be honest, I think it is only white people who are offended by this video because he is seen as a sexual interest by these white women. Lets keep in positive people!

And what about the actor who played Tyrone? Don't you think he knew what he was doing when he decided to take on the role? I want to find out who he is.

the advert could be exactly the same with a white guy. i'd assumed it was the fact that tyrone had been teaching the women instead of stephen (who id thought was supposed to know all about the tea)or that he just a hot guy working in a shop who'd "filled in" some customers, nothing to do with him being black. My boyfriend is black. when i met him i didnt think "wow hes a gorgeous *black* man" i thought "he's gorgeous!!"

Interesting to read these comments. May I point out that the fact that so many people do not see this as racist may mean that the stereotype is gone, destroyed and no longer valid? Tyrone is simply a sexually attractive man. "Filling [the women] in" is funny.
