for people who doesn't like too much SWEET flavour, you don't need to reduce sugars in this recipee. i tried reducing it to 1/2 a cup but then its too dark :D hopefully, next sunday i'll beable to try making this chocolate brownie again :) HAPPY COOKING and thankyou very much for this recipee :D thank you frm Thailand:)
there are plenty variates of vanilla extract that do not contain alcohol, but vanilla essence is the one that usually contains alcohol... that's the cheep stuff in tiny bottles :]
@CookingHalal what do you mean when was the last time i read the label, everytime you buy any new products, you shoukd always read the ingredients. All i'm saying any ingredients containing vanila extract has alcohol. if vinegar contain vanila extract then yes it's haram.
Vanila extract contain an estimate of 35% of alcohol.
I heard scholars categorize things like that as halal, because the incidental presence of alcohol for non-intoxicating purposes does not render food haram--if it is in an amount that doesn't intoxicate; isn't there as an intoxicant; and isn't consumed because of intoxication...

It should be noted that nowadays, most vanilla extract bottles contain alcohol. Please check whether it can be used before baking
