at least...bassoon isn't that popular of an instrument like flute.

i know that there are maybe 3 or 4 in the highline district, myself included. so maybe find the amount of districts in washington, which is (A LOT HOLY CRAP) 295, multiply that by 3.5 (just to be fair to 3 and 4, and sorry, gotta do the math visually) aaaaaaand...

295x3.5= 1,032.5 possible bassoonists in washington state IF each district has 3.5 bassoonists.

@TheJamster2411 That would be a contrabassoon. It's very similar to the bassoon but sounds an octive lower. It is the lowest instrument in the orchestra. Even the tuba cannot play lower.

That is utter rubbish. My brother plays bassoon, oboe, cor anglais, contrabassoon, bagpipes, piano and sings professionally. All of these are much MUCH harder than the guitar. Why don't you try and learn one?

I did the same thing, and actually playing flute helps with bassoon playing. My bassoon teacher says good flute players make good bassoon players. The embosure (sp?) is pretty similar. Tight mouth corners and focused air through a small opening.

Hahaha playing bassoon... is a freaking hassle. Everything about it is a straight up pain... it's size... reeds... intonation... clefs... 13+ thumb keys for 2 thumbs.... a billion and a half fingeringssss... eww. But, hey, it pays for college, right?
