It's just that the purpose of the buildings is the perpetuation and consolidation of falsehood and the corruption of the human mind and will with unfounded nonsense. These buildings are symbolic of the fascist, tyrannical nature of the belief systems they were built to honour. But, you're right, in their own right, as pure constructions, many religious buildings are beautiful and I really like this Minecraft one.
