I love 911's. If you remember, what was being discussed about the tach? I have a '70 Beetle for now and would appreciate your input. . . . . . . . . . . .I want to go faster than 65mph and was told by a Beelte owner on YouTube that it is possible to bolt up the transaxle from a '70 911 to my Beetle's motor. What do you think? How many forward gears are in your 911, is the bolt-up possible until I can afford a used 911 and do you think it is a wasteful idea?
You don't warm cars up on idle, that's mechanical illiteracy. Put the engine under load (by driving ...), don't exceed 3.000 in the first 5 km, make ample use of the clutch. Learn to relate to the car, it deserves it. Having it sit on idle is tappet massacre. But then again, Americans do that with their strange E10 fuels anyway :-(
Thank you for your comments but concerning seats !!,,, i'm perfectly happy with the original leather seats that came with the car and I don't follow trends. I'm well aware of whats on the market and i restore these cars' for a living. It will remain a street sleeper as its been one since the 70's and will never be a track car.
I have original sport seats in various other's and multiple set's of original plastic buckets on the shelf.
wonderful 12 plug sleeper, nice color combo but you got to upgrade the seats for comfort
for a period type RS seat, TRE has affordable repros. factory sport seats are comfortable but add a lot of weight
I dont like aftermarket race seats as it doesnt keep with the OEM sleeper look.
you could also redo yours with new buns and lavish leather although with that engine and set up you might want to have lite but firm support for the twisties and amateur track, I mean that's what they are for...right
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!

This is a T not a S same engine but it's caruburators and not injection, injection where the E (electrical injection) and the S (mechanical injection).
It only a badge, to through people off, thats as far as it goes. The Motor is RSR shortblock, special cylinder heads for better flow , twinplug and original RS MFI with modified stacks.
911/s 2200 mechanic fuel injection - 180 bhp at 7200 rpm - one of the best engines ever, extremely powerful and reliable -Owned a white one- flat out in highways was pure gladness!
Dude is that a 100LS to the left?

Hello.
I finally changed the incorrect tach last year ..
The transmisson will bolt up to the motor but it may not fit without modification to body and other drive train components.. Good luck..
PS,,for the money and time that will go into your car why not just buy into a cheap 911 project car !!!
