An easy game if you make the most of people with high CHR. It wasn't rare for me to get enemy troops to turn traitor in the tens of thousands.. This version sadly has a lot of holes in it..

Hmm I agree if you dispatch the officers with high CHR. But try the lords with five star difficulty, and each time you play the game play is different unlike any other games where you see the certain patterns once you master it. I know what you mean though, get freaking 99 INT strategist and rumor the city crazy then hire it with high CHR officers. It doesn't happen bang like that though. I say this game is difficult overall lots to think about and depends on what lords you play.

I never played ROTK in my life until this year. My brother showed me a game in America, and I got into it. Of course I am a huge fan of this novel and movei ( red cliff -2008) , but game is VERY unique in various way. Maybe I haven't played other games that I prob never played but this game was cool. When you start with like 2 officers and surrounded by Cao Cao or Liu Bei, but being able to overcoming all the difficulties and how you play with diplomacy make this game so hard and unpredictable.

I only played like 3 games in my whole life sigh.. This will be my fourth game, and it was the best. Just try the lords with 2 officers or just ONE lol. So hard, I can't even hire anyone.. true 5 star difficulty. The point is like I said, unpredictable, each time it's different. And on debate and on battle, luck matters rofl. Great game, I loved it, didn't know so many rotk version before this. . Anyway this Christmas week, I played alot lol enjoyed it. UNPREDICTABLE

It's not unpredictable, you can plan everything. there are no dice in this game, just anticipation.

Yes I did. I stand by my opinion. The fact that there was an AI patch for this game (we're talking about the Japanese PC release yes?) speaks bounds about its flaws. Even after the patch I was still doing fine.

I'm not trying to be tit for tat here. It's visually stunning and I hope it sold tons of copies so that something better can be made. But I recommended you try its predecessors as well. 10 was okay, 9 focused a LOT on individual work (you could play as one character starting as an officer in the middle of nowhere or you could be the leader of roaming warriors). 9 was unique in that regard. My favorite was 3 for the SNES though. 6 for the PSX isn't half bad though if you can find it.
