  • Fuck yeah!

  • i want too hugg Steve . I do know why.

  • 2:46 Fingerprints everywhere!

  • Comment removed

  • Steven Wilson e Mikael Akerfeldt = DEUSES DA MÚSICA

  • when i first heard this song, i thought it would be one of the worst filler tracks of all time. then i heard the chorus, i was like 'this isn't so bad...' then i heard the BRIDGE!

  • Fuck me that was good!

  • i love the invisible whammy at 5:23

  • @huntrayisabeast16 That was a volume adjustment, not a whammy motion.

  • Awesome!

  • awesome band,playing proper music,and im a 50 year old,just love this band

  • @tramlad2 Beat you. I'm 56 and I to love this band. Being a drummer I just love Gavin Harrison.

  • Grandissimi !!!!!

  • Wow these guys are fucking awesome!

  • Delicious- point taken. But in the case of this particular song especially,I think John Wesley adds a lot.In fact I think he adds a lot to their live performance in general, and I definitely prefer the live version of this song to the recorded one.

  • When i start work, i nowadays start with a cup of coffee and PT

  • the drummer is insane

  • AlumiSonic guitar! Cool.

  • If i was at just any PT show i would just die. There amazing.

  • I dont know why everyone talks about Gavin geniusness in every pt video, yea he's really good but Steven Wilson seems to be a underrated guitarrist. That last final solo is great

  • @lpz2 THAAAANK YOU, my sentiments exactly. Well except for Gavin actually being one of the best modern drummers out there :P. But yeah Steven's a monster guitarist, extremely underrated, I guess his musicianship surpasses his guitar playing and hence everyone overlooks his guitar playing.

  • Why was it taken out of the DVD/BluRay!!!?!?!?!?!?

  • What the hell happened to this video???

  • The really amazing thing about this band to me is that everything I've heard them do live actually sounds better than the recorded versions, which are pretty damn good to begin with. And it's not so much because of improvisation or solos, the songs just sound better.I like the live versions better than the recorded versions, and I don't think I've ever felt that way about another band before.

  • @klongyaw7 I'd have to disagree on that. The studio versions are some of the most delicious audio I have ever experienced. The live versions are definitely good for live, but nowhere near the sound quality of the originals. Although Hatesong is definitely better live because after getting Gavin, they did so much more with that song.

  • This band is so flipping good it's amazing.

  • Drummer has such a unique setup! love it!

    Sonor drums <3

  • ohh damn how much I want that snare :!

  • @kuraxsine See the man himself tune his snare drum, this is a 13"x7": /watch?v=AxSHmg5Nkf8&feature=related

  • John Wesley is definitely their secret weapon.

  • Sorry I thought you meant why is this song not on DVD, I guess you mean the whole concert!

  • why the hell is this not on DVD?

  • @gogolplex74 Read the description my friend, you're in luck :-)

  • @Mrdionoz Out-take?

this song is one of the Best PT songs

they sould add this instead of Sever

  • @gogolplex74 Ahh you meant the feature program not the actual DVD. I agree it's awesome.

  • @Mrdionoz No, it's part of a concert, but it's not on Anesthtetize DVD

  • They clearly cut this song for time, because there's nothing wrong with it, great performance.

  • Steven SLIGHTLY messes up the solo, I think this may have been his reason for cutting it, seeing as how he's such a nit-picky guy.

  • I want to hug the bassist.. I dont know why

  • @Matabi2 I think we all want to ;)

  • @Matabi2 because he's a boss.

  • @Matabi2 Its that chill look that he always has, even when they play hardcore shit.

  • @PKTANGEL It's probably because he looks like he consists of pure musical joy and energy.

  • @Matabi2 probably cuz he awesome like everyone in this band, and smiles all the time haha

  • @Matabi2 BECAUSE HE IS THE GROOVEMASTER. LOOOL! THAT'S WHY!

  • @Matabi2 its his smirk

  • @Matabi2 We all do, we all do.

  • @Matabi2 he's like the happiest bass player i've ever seen

  • @Matabi2 i am a Steve biatch..i know why i want too hugg Steve.

  • nothing short of magnificent

  • Correction- this isnt on the dvd or blu-ray. i own both. but i do realize this was from the same set but excluded from the release. i wana try download a good version

  • In my opinion John Wesley should be added as fulltime member of Porcupine Tree, he is a very good guitar player and is perfect on chorus.

  • @Hallek555 I agree w/ you Halle-he's a great addition, and the band is really balanced now. I was disappointed when Chris Maitland left, as I thought he added a lot to the mix-but Gavin is in another category altogether...My favorite percussionist right nw.. VEEEEEEEEERY tastey drummer...

  • Their touring guitarist is the luckiest mother f**ker alive.

  • This song is for EVERYONE. How ironic.

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic epic catch

  • It's Perfect% \m/

  • Thumbs up if u <3 the fill at 4:04 :)

  • @kuraxsine Such a tasteful player. Everything he plays has musical value and adds to the song. I enjoy the fill at 1:00...again, very simple but it works so well.

  • @XDrummerSteve agreed! words cannot describe Gavin's talents, its rare that a drummer can dress up slow/quiet songs with intricate fills and patterns and not overdo it. he nails it every time!

  • @kuraxsine ideed. it made my balls tingle

  • Close your eyes and let the thoooooooooooooooooooooooooo(close your eyes and let it) passsssss!!!!

    I LOVE PT.

  • holy crap. i was finally going to see them this year, but turns out i'm busy when they're playing by me :( next time...

  • Porcupine is a drug administered through Cochlea into our brain and when its mixed with ocular administration, its becomes over-dosed ecstasy!

Man! i am surely drugged by PT to write that :D

  • I use Porcupine Tree as a substitute for weed.

  • @shaygahweh I use it together , and its AWESOME !

  • @shaygahweh i use both

  • @shaygahweh I guess that's why I'm getting hungry now.

  • @shaygahweh I use Mary Jane and listen to Porcupine Tree :P

  • @shaygahweh Thats odd...I use weed as a substitute for Porcupine Tree.

  • @shaygahweh I use Porcupine Tree as a substitute for reality.

  • @shaygahweh Same!!!!

  • @shaygahweh Though they also go really well together

  • sounds like a dream...ahhhh!

  • porcupine tree= the beatles+the who+the doors+pink floyd+dire straits+everyone who was a someone in rocknroll

  • @nikhily912

you have no idea how fuckin right you are.......or maybe you do.

  • that wah sounds amazing

  • 5:23 Steven reaches for a whammy bar that's not there lol

  • @trongs01 Even God makes mistakes from time to time...

  • THAT is music. Not the stuff from the charts like J-Bieber, Rihanna, Lady Gaga etc

  • This should not have been an out-take.

  • Just starting to get these guys and I really hear the influences, Pink Floyd, Rush, Radio Head, just a sweet mixture of all the music I dig...

  • @xyz321123 SW was writing music before Radiohead was a group so maybe the influence was the other way around hmm?

  • @KoreyKu Very true, but they do list Radiohead first under their influences on the official site.

  • the fact that the best rated comment is that is that many viewers know what a floyd rose is! prog is for intellectuals :p

  • rain keeps crawling down the glass.(pull yourself up together) the good times never seem to last (you know it's not so bad) close your eyes and let the thought pass.

  • I can't stop smiling...;D I feel stoned ...;D what a marvelous band ;oo thanks guys;*****

  • what kind of guitar is this?

  • I truly love this band. As I have said before, to listen to them is pure bliss. Porcupine Tree are about as close to heaven as we can come on this earth-their music is intelligent, catchy, and impossible to categorize. They are wildly talented musicians, but never fall into the self indulgent overplaying of other groups that might be called progressive. They can bounce between so many moods and never miss a beat. Everybody watching this video needs to turn their friends onto PT. God Bless PT!

  • @theaterdreamer No offense but 5:00 minutes on is over playing which is what progressive rock is on every level. doesnt mean its not bliss :)

  • 4:25 - Gavin wears Pumas! So that's how he manages that magic footwork....

  • I tried the capsules and I tried the smokes...

  • great music. these guys are awesome, they remind me of pink floyd with a little king crimson in them also

  • Fucking amazing.

  • Oh man, where is the "Sooper-Dooper-LIKE!" button? Tasty good schtuff. :) I was lucky to catch their tour of The Incident in Portland and want to see them again.

  • Amen

  • I just got drugged

  • Rain keeps crawling down the glass

The good times never seem to last

Close your eyes and let the thought pass

    ----

    I love this lyrics

  • It's nice to watch a video on YouTube where the comments below it aren't full of fighting, arguing and swearing!

  • @kenraq2000 hate to say it but thats probably because everyone who listens to porcupine tree is rather intelligent

  • Comment removed

  • @kenraq2000 Cos only the sensible ones come here.. i.e. Porcupine Tree Fans :)

  • @kenraq2000 thats why you just watch the videos and ignore all the bs below it

  • @kenraq2000 agreed friend. :)

  • @kenraq2000 Yeah, PT fans are several cuts above the rest.

  • Gavin @ 1:36, just perfect.

  • @kualj yeah.. I'm addicted of this part;o what a feeling;o Gavin's my guru

  • lol @ 5:23 SW thought he had a whammy bar. :))

  • @killerkite333 Lol, well the guy DID have quite a few guitars he used at this concert, to be fair :-P

  • Este tema es una reminiscencia de Pink Floyd en especial en cuanto al Coro

  • Este tema definitivamente es una reminiscencia de Pink Floyd en cuanto al coro

  • Still waiting for that really high and even LONGER note. Listening to them is like listening to parts of a different world.

  • love Gavin's playing at 5.11-5.15.

    ps. Wesley's voice sounds amaf*ckingzing!

  • Is SW using a gibson? Every time the camera gets close to the headstock it cuts scenes!

  • @WayWaterWay It's not a Gibson. I have no idea what it is, and I'm suprised that SW is using sth else than PRS (and his acoustic), but It's definetly not a Gibson.

  • Comment removed

  • @michu321 Pretty sure SW has standardized on custom PRSs ...

  • @WayWaterWay I think the guitar is called an "Alumisonic" or something like that.

  • @WayWaterWay It's a Paul Reed Smith

  • 2:55-3:20 = the most psychedelic, nostalgic and melancholic melody in the entire history of music!

  • this song psyches me out every time I listen to it... \m/

  • i m just in love with each of the member of thhis band.....

look at the ecstatic face of colin at 52 second of the song.... love it..

  • Great band, I think!

  • how is this not on the dvd?

  • If these guys were any tighter, they'd lose their circulation. Nicely done.

  • 5:23 Invisible whammy bar. Seriously though, crazy good solo.

  • Why this song isn't on the Anesthetize DVD?

  • Where to get this outtake? I think it's niether on my DVD nor blue-ray??

  • I love how the bass player is just so content!

  • Great artists respect each other....

Douchy trolls just like to compare and argue..

    Peace.

  • he butchered the last solo but whatever. Great vid and song!

  • when this song ends I want .3 as if I am a fuckin junkie

  • @5targazer that's absolutely ok....because 3. is one of the best fucking songs in history! i would strip for a live version of .3 ....aww yeah :-*

  • @Thome90 live .3 is here: watch?v=sBQnDNhq8Lg

also there is full live version on audio version of Rockpalast, shamefully it was cut from DVD, and by the way mellotron scratch - same story!

  • @5targazer thank you....yeah what a shame....mellotron scratch is such an awesome tune.....

  • "If I left the stage would that be wrong?"

    Yes, yes it would Steven.

  • So why is this an outtake... It's magnificent.

  • 5:24 - imaginary floyd-rose, haha

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic LOL You made my day XD

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic hahaha yeah; ''Oh right... not my usual guitar.''.

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic that is so wicked!!!

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic Good eyes. Maybe he was adjusting the tone knob?

  • @yuppyguitar1 hehe, didn't saw any knob moving :p

  • @gabrieloliveiramusic he realized that it was a les paul hahaha "where is my PRS whammy bar???" hahahaha "oh I forgot... I´m playing a les paul" hahaha

  • @Holdsworthands It's not a Les Paul, it's a Alumisonic.

  • @willregnier oh I see sorry... anyway I wanted to say the les paul type of bridge :)

  • Is that Steven Wilson playing a guitar that's NOT a PRS? Wow...

  • this song put me on such a natural high, i feel so euphoric everytime i hear this song, let alone the screening by Lasse Hoile. Such a superb song and video.

  • the guy disliked this music is totally DEAF !!
