  • so who got lead here by their dick?

  • @RIP200711 rich0292

  • What's that sexy anime from?

  • @rich0292 GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995) Its a decent movie. GitS: Stand Alone Complex is pretty amazing.

  • @Azzalack Thanks :)

  • First - this is definitely a remix.

Second - Excellent song (the original). Nice picture, but has little to do with the song.

  • @CatKnight1 Its Ghost in the Shell.

  • I listened to Zager and Evans. Then I listed to this. I wish I hadn't, my ears are bleeding

  • Yes, the original version is. But this is the ORIGINAL VISAGE EDIT, no remix at all. I am glad you enjoy.

  • I actually think I like this version more...

  • STUDY THE PICTURE! HEED THE WARNING! This is what the future is in danger of becoming! But it doesn't have to be that way! In order to AND RESPECT EACH OTHER AND PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT BETTER.In doing so,we could create a paradise that's safe for all. Pleae put aside your differences. let's build a positive utopia and not a negative utopia. SO PLEASE...LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

  • @dane810 Dude, its just from Ghost in the Shell. Chill out. She's a human who had her brain and spine placed in a robot to survive. What you see isn't something bad. What you see is something wonderful; escape of death via transplantation. Her gun comes from the fact that her body belongs to the military, Section 9.

  • @Azzalack As a YouTube journalist,I like to thank you for your comment. I never saw it that way. Very enlightening. You really opened my eyes. Thank you for helping me see

the light. You are A VERY GOOD PERSON AND TRULY A WARM AND WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING! Again, thank you very very much.

  • @dane810 Dude, Are you high?

  • @Azzalack shes just sitting there and it looks like shes in pain. lets if i were to choose between death and living like that.... death it is.

  • @sunburst223 Cyborgs/Androids/Robots, in GHOST in the SHELL don't feel pain. People feel pain. She, my good sir, is a cyborg. I mean, people cry when they have limbs blown away and their false skulls crushed, right?

  • @Azzalack it looks like a miserable existence to me

  • The original is the best... this cover makes the song sound idiodic :(

  • @SilentGodsRiot idiotic*

  • Ghost in the Shell and Fallout, anyone?

  • My god, This sounds terrible...Old version ftw.

  • is man is still alive!

    and Laibach is cool

it still is too Matrix though

  • Love this song. Not only is it a great song, but the lyrics are great, and the song does make you ponder what it will be like in the future honestly. Or at least, it makes me wonder...

  • @xDaveyDeathx Actually, the Future started January 1,2001...but now that the Future has arrived,we must decide....A GLEAMING PARADISE...OR AN ORWELLIAN NIGHTMARE...

UTOPIA OR DYSTOPIA? we MUST choose and PLEASE...for our children...PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY!

  • thumbs up for glados

  • this isn't a remix, they just re did the song geez. stop calling it a remix. they took the lyrics and made it more modern for the time.

  • que mal remix : (

  • Brilliant song, fantastic version of said brilliant song

  • SHePP sann dANNAK kARNN ... xxx ;vfjrrjdssk ,, ...

  • Oh please! Zager and Evans released this in the 60's. Way ahead of their time!

  • The year 2525 will be nowhere near as good as the year 1982 visage dude xD

  • THIS SUCKS!

  • "In the year zero-nine, zero-nine, they ruined a great old, classic song"

  • @llamastastegooder It wasnt in the year zero nine zero nine.

It was the year seventy-eight seventy eight.

I like Visage's version better than the original.

  • Some songs work w/ a strong, steady (plastic) beat... seems this isn't one of them.

    - Of course my opinion's been shaped by having known the ori. for about 40 years.

When it comes to beats, plastic /inelastic ain't often so fantastic or "all that."

For jazz purists in fact they'd be judged, I bet, as *crap* /flat out bad, almost uniformly.

  • Is that a picture from Ghost in the Shell?

  • look at her booty!

  • I'm suprised to see some people criticizing the use and synths and vocoders. I think they really give the song a futuristic feel (I mean, the song IS called "In The Year 2525"). It's a cover, you can't expect it to sound the same as the original, that's just uncreative - Well, for a cover, that is...

  • Lyrics first heard about 30 years ago, Thanks to You Tube, revisited.

IF man is still alive & woman has survived.

Not withstanding Annas & Arunas, the MYTH of the "most powerful, benevolent & merciful".

The fire ants & Locust WILL BE REPLACED BY HUMANS as the Pestilence & most Vicious Predators of 2525.

The neta-babus OF 2525, will live under a protective dome protected from

radiation & toxins, self inflicted weapons of mass destruction.

Away from the 90%, the deprived & EXISTING poor.

  • what a crap

  • interesting version

  • Hell yeah i have a huge poster of the same ghost in the shell image fuckin awesome

  • i can hear a transition into another song at the end? what is it?

  • @bigbadbeast2007 hi, i never noticed. it sounds to me like an intro to their song the Anvil.

    you're a careful listener aren't u? (ioordinedisordine)

  • This rendition isn't as bad as I was afraid it might be. It's as good as the Zager & Evans version if not better. Thanks for uploading. :D

  • Interesting cover, reminds me of the Matrix with all the tubes, not the guns mind you just the wires and tubes.

  • Ghost In the shell... That's some good shit :3

  • was anyone at Blitz when Steve and Visage performed this live ? .... i was and it's a pretty damn fine cover ....

  • this is bullshit i like the oringal a trillion times better

  • they have hurt me so. NOT EVERY SONG NEEDS A REMIX!

  • @IoOrdineDisordine The original was by zager and evans wasn't it? please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @JingleJoe right but this is not a remix but the original published version of this beautiful cover version by Visage (including members of Ultravox and the Banshees) first recorded in 1979. I advise you also listen to another beautiful rendition by the band Laibach!

  • @IoOrdineDisordine oh yes I have heard laibach :) they did a fantastic version of this song.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine ..That is a remix. Visage did not just simply play the original song, they modified it a bit and changed the sound.

    This is a remix.

  • Comment removed

  • @IoOrdineDisordine In the sense that you are saying it is a "cover" and not a "remix" I agree with you, but I think you are walking a fine line there. Personally, I don't "like" or "dislike" this version. I prefer the original because that's what I grew up with, and I prefer other pieces of Visage's work better.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine dude, do you know what a remix is?

Remix: to change a song's music

This band made a remix of the origional.

  • @gir42399 Where did you get that interpretation of "remix"? because this is a "cover" and a good one for '79 though not as good as the original for '69 both would have been analogue recordings and the sounds would have been synthesized as opposed to digitally enhanced

  • @JingleJoe Yes, Zager & Evans did this long before Visage...

  • @JingleJoe I think you're right about that! Recording duo 'Zager and Evans' wrote 'In The Year 2525,' the #1 song of 1969.. The remixes don't compare and don't have the same feel as the 60's songs did, IMHO.

  • @JingleJoe Yes, their original is here with some very apt sci-fi and real-world images attached!

    youtube.com/watch?v=yesyhQkYrQM&feature=related

  • @JingleJoe you are correct is was recorded and a number 1 song in June of 1969.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine Actually, the original was by Zager and Evans, on a guitar.

While both are nice, I like this version more.

  • @HellsSkulkers Rule 34-b: There is a techno remix of it.

  • @JingleJoe

i like how u got specific about the rule. i never had a b thrown at me.

  • @HellsSkulkers true some songs should just be left alone

  • (visage) perhaps the vanguard of the era, at least true to what art is d tracey in canada

  • that scene when she beats the shit out of the guy in the fountain is one of my favourites. maybe the best depiction of invisibility in an animation, ever!

  • i'd love to be the Ghost in her Shell.

  • this song was butchered by them!

  • Zager and Evans; much better version than two guys with doctored voices over electronic music.

  • @Cubroncs03 if you think that then you surely have truelly flipped

  • In the year 252525

The backwards time machine still won't have arrived

In all the world, there's only one technology

A rusty sword for practicing proctology

  • ...Pick your sons, pick your daughters too, from the bottom of a long glass tube, whoaa, whooooaaaa... Dam thats scary, he called that one

  • The Zager & Evans version was haunting and human, evoking the theme of the song. This is cheesy and computerised, completely undermining the theme of the song and rendering it meaningless.

  • Sounded futuristic in the 80s then, sounds futuristic by today's standards! Awesome song, best version.

  • Ghost in the Shell o ye one of the best anime ,thats Major Kusanagi Motoko :D

  • This is just as good--possibly even better--than the original. BTW, the sexy image used for this video is amusingly outdated; there's no way that by 2525, we'll be using cable and wires. It'll all be completely wireless, organic machinery!

  • I remember when the robot noise sounded like shit... and it still does... I like the guys voice just not the robot sound

  • back in the 90'S DJ Billy used to played this one at Club @ in Tijuana Mexico, I was DJ there too but he knew what was good and this theme was one of the greatest!!

  • That image looks familier...Matrix?

  • @andyase1 THIS IS SOME PIN UPP FROM THE AUTHOR OF Appleseed ^^

  • @IoOrdineDisordine

it from ghost in the shell movie made by masamune shirow....;)

  • @IoOrdineDisordine i think its from ghost in the shell of 1995

  • @IoOrdineDisordine it's Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost In The Shell

  • @IoOrdineDisordine ghost in the shell?

  • @Pellinore1990

    Yup.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine Aye, it is Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. An awesome series as well.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine Isn't it from Ghost in the Shell?

  • @IoOrdineDisordine It's from Ghost in the Shell :P

  • @andyase1 It is Kusanagi Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.

  • @cityofwalls it is isant it, i knew it was familiar

  • @andyase1 Ghost in the shell

  • @andyase1 ghost in shell

  • @andyase1

Oh come on,.... Ghost in the Shell, basically the main inspiration for the Matrix from opening titles, to the action scenes, and some of the philosophical aspects.

You should check it out,... together with Akira, the best anime's ever.

  • @andyase1 Ghost in the Shell and in the pic is Major Kusanagi Motoko :D

  • @andyase1 Ghost in the shell the original movie, i think.

  • @andyase1 Ghost in the shell...

  • @andyase1 Ghost in a shell

  • @andyase1

It was made by Masamune Shirow. He's know as the creator of a decent portfolio of anime such as Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Black Magic, among a few other. The image is of Major Motoko Kusanagi from ghost in the Shell. I have the wallscroll of this somewhere autographed by Shirow. He's a pretty nice guy.

  • @andyase1 This is from Ghost In The Shell , the Wachowski brothers should have been inspired by this concept

  • @andyase1 its the girl from "ghost in the shell"

    search on youtube

wamdue project - king of my castle

  • @andyase1 it is Ghost in the Shell

  • i kinda like this one

  • Wow. Been a fan of the original for years. This is really good. Great cover. Thanks for sharing.

  • this song is just great and I like Visage's version a lot more the the original from Zager and Evans ...

  • @slayerem great cover indeed. Do you also like the one by Laibach? Much more epic/dramatic.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine yes, Laibach version was good but I think the clean voice goes way better for this song...

  • @IoOrdineDisordine

The Laibach version is the best.

  • @russolo Ian Brown has a great version. Laibach were better when they started. They became "soft" ;-))

  • @russolo

Laibach? lol,.. i'm gonna check it out right away.

  • @IoOrdineDisordine I think the best version is by Ian Brown

  • @slayerem This version sucks. You only like it if you don't appreciate someone's ability to actually play and understand music.

  • @Cubroncs03 times were different... late 60's and early 70's in another kind of music then mid 80's... Bands like Visage, Boy George, Dead or Alive changed music history even if most people that would listen them today for the first time wouldn't agree with me... i can appreciate musicians and instrumentation too but my view on music is far larger then most people have... just check my fav list and u'll understand....

  • @LtModigliani Shirow (the artist) will forgive me, but I know bad karma...I guess I have a lot eheh

  • @IoOrdineDisordine it was a smart thing to do youtube isnt very "accepting" of nudity, im a fan of it though lol

  • @IoOrdineDisordine >_< Don't modify artwork, that's freakin' blasphemy. =/

  • I have this on 12 inch & the album :)

  • I never knew that Visage song this song.

  • it's closer than you think...

  • gayest re-mix ever, original is well better

  • @KingBoab1989

I think that is the well known 1983 version, not a remix. I took it from the CD "The Damned Don't Cry", and there is not mention of this track being a remix (which is made clear for other tracks on the same album).

If by original you mean the the rare recording made 5 years before, plase

upload it for us, I' d be glad to listen to it and have it as a response to this video!

  • @IoOrdineDisordine He hints at the original version, that of zager and evans :)

  • @Hydralynx i understood that when many others called this a remix...why would someone call rmx a famous cover version? :D

  • this song was in the Alien 3 movie sung by one of the convicts before he get smooshed in the ventilation shaft

  • @buubaby omg your right, thats hard core thank you !!!

  • Idk why this version is featured on google search but it definitely works. The dreary robot voice fits the theme well.

  • the sound of the future of the past :-)

  • I remember when this sounded so futuristic...now it sounds like the 80s.

  • @LENTICULARPLASTIC & we all wish the best parts of both could be here today!

  • great version
