  • I'm curious about the software that makes the animation. Does it use a midi file or input from a midi keyboard. Reading the input seems like the hardest part and the animation seems like the more creative you want it to look the harder it would be to make. What language was this made in? I might be interested in making one, I was looking at the MidiDevice class in java, that seemed like it could be used to read midi input and from there I could make an animation.

  • @musanim You sir, are a genius

  • I feel I'm on the Eiffel Tower overlooking Paris

  • @musanim The best version I've ever heard...

  • I love it, thanks for the upload!!!

  • what???? no ratings? aw... i forgot to like this video and i was about to but then i found out. ratings disabled :(

  • Great quality, thanks whoever uploaded this to YouTube I listen to it every day. :)

  • @youamsuck That would be me: I performed it, recorded it, wrote the software that made the animation, and uploaded the result. Uploading it was the easy part.

  • @musanim thanks man, I love this master piece !

  • Debussy would probably compliment your playing of this! The best I've heard, ever!

  • This is....

    Fuck...I can't even begin to

This takes music to a whole new level, it's so beautifully visual and smooth

  • this program greatly fits this piece... cheers mate!

  • God I'd love to get paid to program that

  • I lost count of how many times I have listened to this piece : )

  • @LieutenantSarcasm26 That's okay --- when you're listening to this, you shouldn't be counting, anyway.

  • Words don't work anymore...

  • Claude Debussy, favorite composer ever.

  • Impresionante. La música, la gráfica. Emocionante

  • Just amazing. As music, math, patterns...

  • 3:04 to 3:14 is so beautiful

  • so relaxing ... mmm...

  • beautiful

  • I would like to compliment whoever played this; it is my favorite version I have heard so far. Tells quite a story, and I like how each note is easily registered, unlike some of the versions I've heard.

  • @Charlindy Thanks!

  • A suavidade da música é fantástica.É o alimento do nosso espírito

  • i played this for my piano 10 royal conservatory of music exam i think i go an 8/10 but i wasnt very good haha

  • Where can I find more music like this?

  • This is so beautiful. It conjures images of Paris long ago, and love at first sight, and chasing the one you love

  • @atheistpolitic Yeah!

  • bravo!

  • Wow watching that is so hypnotic :) Love it

  • @cgatejames i love how all you people cant see what im saying. this sounds like brad mehldau. i try to say "hey guys, we have a bridge" and you fiends burn it down because of a rigid caste system. "you jazz meatheads stay where you are, and dont you dare suggest WE had anything to do with `that abomination`." bebop isnt the modal totality of jazz. open your minds, and your hearts.

  • @poopinhere You missed the point of musanim's response, Jesus came before Christianity. He inspired it.

  • This is my favourite! I like MUSANIM! thank you!

  • @poopinhere Uhh that was the comeback's punchline, twat... Beautifull arabesque by Le grand Debussy

  • wtf??? its not jazz!!!!

  • i like it

  • Such a delicate and light piece in places - the animation helps you "see" the music - very helpful to appreciate it, thank you for playing it with feeling and sensitivity.

  • Absolutely fantastic. 1 of my Favorite videos of all time!!

  • that's really cool how you animated it...

  • a very beautiful composition ! ♥

  • enchanting...

  • listening to this song is like dreaming... thank you for the music and the video....

  • Strangely, this animation makes one notice that this music is the work of a genius

  • Perfect, just perfect.

I'm a big fan of Debussy I've actually done one of my Exam compositions in his style. Mine does not hold a candle... but its alright.

  • @KyrianaeWolfsbane No one gives a shit!!!

Actually just joking, would be quite interesting to hear - you uploaded it? Couldn't find it on your youtube page..

  • @KyrianaeWolfsbane You should put your composition up hear. I'd love to listen to it. Who knows, maybe we'll be watching animations of your work some day. ;)

  • what im saying is the french impressionists were the major inspiration behind jazz. the fact this is called "first arabesque" fascinates me. for instance, pharoah sanders and sun ra. sun ra has a solo piano album, there is no difference, just as beautiful. there is a specific sequence i am talking about @1:45 on for a few bars. i really dont care if you agree, thats what i got from it. (and that descending line... heavenly. i didnt know christ was french.)

  • Incredible.

  • @musanim yes, you are so all knowing. sorry...

  • @MRBORGHEAD lol its obviously not jazz dude

  • this is the mot beautiful jazz tune i've ever heard.

  • @MRBORGHEAD That's kind of like saying Jesus was the most devout Christian ever.

  • @musanim especially because you know... he was jewish.

  • @musanim exactly. because Jesus was a devout Jew, you know.

  • @musanim Ha. It's funny because he was a Jew.

...was that even supposed to be the joke?

  • @musanim Amen. =]

  • @musanim hahahaha

  • @musanim LOL, and btw this animation is awesome

  • @MRBORGHEAD its not jazz just letting you know

  • I first heard this song as the theme song for stargazer at midnight at the end of broadcast for PBS and loved it, but never knew its' name. Beautiful version.

  • This video was absolutely fantastic! I'm so surprised this particular video isn't more popular!

  • reminds me of Final Fantasy XII for some reason .-.

  • @NinjadoAlaska musics from final fantasy games are mostly rip offs of classic masterpieces i wonder why they dont sue them

  • @f34r0r If your work is over 75 years you don't hold their rights anymore wasn't it? they have no owner after a period of time, but the amount of time I'm not so sure about the 75 years

  • @f34r0r hahaahha most of these composers have been dead for decades at the very least... once you die (and that many years go by) anyone is free to interpret your songs as they will... especially since most of these composers didn't have "copyright" issues to begin with...

  • Makes me remind a Bicicle but I don't know why x)

  • This is the first time I've seen the circles. I love the new animation style

  • mmmmhhhhhmmmmm

  • haha wow the circles look really cool on this one...i love it when it scales in the beggining ....A++++ vid
