  • Haha, oh man, I was 7 when we got this on VHS and I was exactly the opposite. Sometimes I even REWOUND AND WATCHED IT AGAIN. I loved this scene so much...

  • I have to admit, even as a girl, I did this when I was younger. Of course, now it has become one of my favorite moments in the movie.

  • Not only this, but "Springtime is Warm" in the Magoo version. I love you for making this.

  • hahaha!!! i only watched this scene because of his blue coat! so shmexy! but when she opened her gob she was '>>fastforwarded' she has a naisely voice =/ sorry hun, but that bonnett has to go too, BYEBYE BELLE!

  • I skipped the movie and watched only the songs when I was a kid I loved this song! I watched it three times each time I watched the movie! =)

  • but but....this is an integral part of the story, showing one of the main factors that lead to Scrooge's broken, grumpy and miserable persona in his later life :O

  • You should have stopped fast-forwarding it halfway through, saw she was still singing, then fast-forwarded it some more. I would have LOL'd even harder.

My dad loves this song. My dad hates songs in movies and he likes this song. It's so powerful.

  • LMAO!!!!!!

  • That's hilarious! My friend and I were just talking about this the other day, then I found this video. did the same thing. ahahah!

  • The new way of watching Muppets Christmas Carol since they got rid of this song is to pause it at the point you started fast forwarding and to go on youtube find this video, watch?v=XO_Y5lzSLZI&feature=related, watch it, and then watch the rest of the film.

  • Haha I used to do this (much to my sister's annoyance, she loved it) but I like it now so I got the DVD and they've cut the song all together!

  • Ahahaha, I did this too when I was a kid! "What?! Boring emotional stuff!!" *fast forwards*. Some people in the comments seem to be outraged that anyone would fast forward through this touching song, but when you're four you just want to see muppets singing happy songs about Christmas. Now as an adult this is one of my favorite parts of the movie! It's so touching.

  • @meekakitty Yeah, the whole idea for this video came about when my friend and I were talking about the movie and realized we BOTH did this when we were younger, so I determined right then and there that this had to be on the internet. (that's also when I realized that there was no version of the song on YouTube, either. Well, from Muppet Christmas Carol, that is)

  • The most emotional part is when you see him break down at the end, even as he joins in the song. T-T Definitely just skip to that part.

  • PWND.

  • That was HILARIOUS! we did that too!

  • I did this when I was a kid too, but mostly because the song made me cry and I would get all embarrassed. SO.

  • My sister does the same thing when there isn't anyone under 25 onscreen while watching the OC.

  • lol. I loved that song, but watching you fast forward it was still hilarious!

  • That is hilarious. yeah that song is so long and boring and not the right tone for a muppet movie...

  • I find this kind of funny and it makes sense, since in the original release of this movie, this song was cut but then put back in later on for the dvd

  • that is very offensive to the most emotional song in this film ou should have watched it normally and enjoy the song. i watch this film several times every year around christmas song and i love this song so much that i rewind it and watch it over and over and over again cos it is so emotional and it makes me so happy and sad at the same time that i cry

  • @madpotterfan sounds like you watch it enough that they don't have to.

  • u should change the name to: "buy the dvd" haha

  • when i was young i didn't like it, now i am older i love the song!

  • humbug to you sg137iu

  • omg i laughed so hard!!!

  • YES!! I always hated this song...XD

  • oh nevermind; i had both scenes going on at once

  • what is with the weird repeating?

  • This is exactly what I did too.

  • haha!!

  • The song was the most meaningful part of the whole movie. It shows one reason why Scrooge hates Christmas so much.

  • Then I'm so glad I'm not at your house...

  • My mouth was wide open..... wow I lol'd and become frustrated all in that moment

  • Brilliant its what i used to day when i was a kid

  • I can't believe you just skip over it! I love this song! I've even cried before! Maybe... I think... it counts!! It's such an important life lesson, as that person a few posts ahead of me mentioned.

  • definitely

  • I agree with the video, if there aren't any muppets singing, I'm just not interested. Made me LOL!

  • Your a fool to skip ahead , the most imortant lesson in life is contained therein.

  • haha so at your house you just skip over the most emotional song!? The songs are what make the movie great! I actually laughed when you skipped over it :).

  • @p405e i agree with you about it being the most emotional song and that the songs make the movie great but when i saw that he fastforwarded it i was so angry and really peaved off and thats why i wrote my long angry comment

  • I love this song...most emotional part in the whole film.

  • lol. So true.

  • Ha ha ha ha! It's so true!

  • no way best part

  • How can you say that she is to blame here? She wanted to be with him and he wanted only money....It's Charles Dickens, try reading it sometime.

  • Man, I knew women are heartless, but dumping someone in song! This just takes their evil up a notch.

  • I LOVE THE SONG. It should never EVER be fast forwarded through

  • I both like and hate this song. On one hand, it's incredibly boring and slows down the pace (although the version during the credits is awesome), however, I feel like it fits into the movie and scrooge gains more sympathy from the audience listens to clara basically dumping scrooge in a song. Also, it makes more sense for scrooge and rizo to be crying in the end of the scene.

  • well id have to say tht anybody tht fastfowards a song in any MUSICAL yes i said musical bcause thts wut it is, first of all these type of songs are there bc they build to tht person, if this song isnt there u dont kno the whole story just read the book this song is practically based on how clara deserted scrooge, and i have to say anyone who does this at any part in any musical does not know culture bc indeed sirs and madames this stuff is culture and thts all i have to say about this outrage

  • I was so pissed when I watched the DVD and this song was cut out - it makes no sense. Why would Scrooge be all of a sudden crying??? Sure, he's going through an emotional change, but it's not suited to his character

  • why would anyone fast-forward through this song? It gives background on Mr Scrooge's life and it's a huge turning point in the movie. Plus the song is very emotional, which i love

  • Gah!!! You cut out the best part! You people have no taste!

  • LOL!

I think it's a beautiful, meaningful song and it shows a part of Scrooge's personality =P

  • I really love this song, and it's a shame that so many hate it really, but I can understand why.

  • I always hated the song too. But for those who like it, it IS on the DVD. You can only see it if you play it in fullscreen, though.

  • so true, we used to fastforward on the VHS, my sister and I couln't stop listening when the DVD totally missed it out. hilarious :p

  • the DVD doesnt have it on at all? that's horrible!!!!!! it has to have this song in it, it help soften scrooge even more. and the song is pretty good too

  • this was and is my favorite song from MCC. You guys just have no soul. ;)

  • LMAO...

oh lord...that's how i used to have to watch it...mum hated the song and always fastforwarded! but the dvd doesn't have it on at all! i was gutted!

  • Your mom must have had to leave some one because they realized they no longer loved her...I did once...hence this song makes me cry.

  • gosh I miss that song! It made me feel so much more for Scrooge's relationship. It's now cut from the film. Doesn't make sence why Rizzo or anyone is upset without it.

  • This made me laugh out loud. I love musicals, but since I was young I've hated this song. When they show it on tv, I actually click to another channel here.

  • dont get that at all, it is one of my favourite songs in the film, and it was even more beautifully sang in the closing credits.

So thanks for posting the full version on the link, its on my favourites list.

  • LOLLL! Omg, it's so true, EVERYONE hates this song, that girl just ruins the movie

  • not true

  • I love this song but a lot of songs were cut do to time limits. I think Paul Williams put a lot of heart in this song when he wrote it and was probab ly sad when it was cut.

  • You should watch the wide screen version, they didn't include the song in that one!

  • My copy doesnt seem to have this song on it at all. it goes straight from her saying "you did once" to rizzo crying. I think really it works better without the song, beause it doesnt add to the story, and kind of hampers the flow

  • We fast forward through this song every year. No one ever wants to listen to it.

  • haha I always did this as a kid...always.

  • LOL thats retarded, I like the martina mcbride version best.

  • Idk whats worse here, the song being cut, or people ACTULLY believing that this was on the DVD =p lolz nice job. If they had taken the song off it would have been a cut scene and gone on to the next one, not fast forwarded lol. (Yes I own it on VHS and DVD) Anyways Its a great song, that woman has a great voice and it is a heart grabbing song.

  • LOL, I would have done that as a child but now that song means something to me.

  • i know what you mean.....ilove this song brok my heart when i saw it was not in the dvd sad face....

  • It's a very nice song, but I always thought it was long, too. Never deleted from the film, though. It's on my DVD and VHS copies.

  • WHY THE HELL DID THEY DITCH THIS SONG?!? We used to have this on video but then one year it broke! But WHY did they loose this song on the DVD version? Thank you for posting this interesting fact by the way.

  • "This is how the movie is intended to be watched.

    At least, in my house."

^ If that didnt give away the joke idk what else will lol.

  • I get the joke cuz our family literally always fastforwarding this part lmao, but they have actually deleted it from the recent DVD version :)

  • this is horrible. one of the best songs of the movie! i've always loved it...

  • omg people its a joke....they didn't ACTUALLY take it off the movie!

  • Yes they did. It wasn't in the original release and it's not in the widescreen part of the newest release. It's a tragedy. They call-back to this song at the end of the movie, and not including it damages the end of the film.

    :-(

  • yes i was outraged by this.... in gonna go see if it is in the fullscreen version cause i have no life lol

  • ahaha you're right! but, there are so many songs in this moovie that deserve to be heard

  • Haha! That's the way to watch it. It's a lovely song, but it's so freaking looooong. I almost always fast forward it as well.

  • boo :( it's such a good song, it never fails to make me cry though lol

  • I think it's in the Fullscreen but not the Widescreen version. Or maybe its just because I selected it manually. I dunno, but the song itself is on the DVD in some form. Wish they hadn't removed it from the movie. That was a bad move.

  • So they took it off the DVD? I fully intend to Frankenstein my own version onto DVD with the song put back into it! Even if it does mean that it suddenly switches to VHS quality in the middle of the movie! I mean really, it's just too important to the plot to leave out.

  • LOL! But I liked this song. That was really unexpected lol.

  • lol tht ws funny as hell lol i used to do the same thing lol

  • haha classic!

  • amazing. i totally agree i always Ffwd this. or stare at belle's freakishly flaring nostrils.

  • lol i thought that was funny but i do like this song

  • i have to agree was not my favorite songs still i agree they should not have taken it out of the dvd as they have fast forwards too..lol

  • Hahaha I do like this clip.

  • Waldorf: boo

    Statler: boo

  • Crap!

Sorry but the song is a vital part of the story, without it shes just a relationship that ended. Not Scrooge loosing the love of his life.

  • Good thing, for the people that hate the song their is the Widescreen version!

  • have to admit i did that when i was a kid, now i'm older it's one of my fav songs in the film

  • You hate that song? Wow

  • comon that was a good song!! Her voice was kind of wierd, but the song was great!

  • Wow, I thought I was the only one that ever fast forwarded it through that song. It just never really appealed to me even though I appreciate musicals and the style that this particular song was presented. This video made me chuckle!

  • The song is on the Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition of Muppet Christmas Carol DVD (released in 2005), in the Fullscreen version. Curiously, the song is NOT in the Widescreen version on the same disc. (The only widescreen version of the movie that has that song, as far as I know, is the Laserdisc.)

The song is rather un-Muppetish but it is an important part of the story. Plus, watching it every year, I now can't live without it -- it is sad but it makes the ending all the more rewarding.

  • That's why I have a video player. For that one video. lol

  • yeah that's pretty stupid dude... not only is it one of the best songs in the movie it's a big part of the story. you can't possibly be a Muppet fan and not like that song!

  • so you make a video to show you don't like a part of a movie. what a winner.

  • wtf was that all about? skipping the song i love that song comn!!!!

  • hehe, i'm too lazy to skip this song. BUT I HATE IT! *slaps crappy actress* SHUT UP

  • i hate that they took that song out of the DVD

    :(

  • they cut it on the DVD??!! heinous!

  • no they didnt its on the fullscreen

  • I really liked the song. It made it so much more emotional. But they cut it out in the new release on DVD.

  • What?! Why in the hell would they cut it out the DVD??!!

  • yeah the DVD did that too

    LOL

  • i wanted this to be a song for me and my girlfriendmr. scribbles

  • HAHAHAHAA thats EXACTLY what I used to do too

  • omg! my siblings and i always fastfowarded thru this song too! it was just too sappy for us younguns...lolz!

  • lmao well it is a very sad song i understand why you would wanna skip it, unfortunately its also the best song in the movie =P

  • funny i was wathcing it on tv and it did not have this song ?? dont know why

  • I always loved this song and I used to sing it when I was little, but I always begged my mum to fast-forward it when we actually watched the movie because it made me super-sad.

  • ahahahaha i always skipped that part!!!!

  • pwned Crappy actress who plays belle! pwned! my family would always rewind to the party at the party when animal throws down on the drums

well done, and happy kwanza to all

  • LOL, hilarious. I've had to skip this song every time I've watched it since I was a kid. It's a horrible, boring song that completely kills the flow of the movie. Well done.

  • lol! That's exactly how my family watches it too! :D

"All in favor of skipping the song say aye"

    :D

  • What a coincedence, that's how I watch it too!
