But the writers allow both to imagine SKate in real world off the Island Jack in a church!.
Bottom line everyone in the church was dead, next step was to leave the church alone into the light backed up bye Jacks dad who said everyone will leave alone, Kate isn't going with ya. Also interesting is everyone ended up remember someone they lost on the Island it was like to give them all peace to move on.
Also a kool note Jack ended up married to Juliet when everyone was in limbo together,perhaps a sign of what would of happen if everyone gotten off the island instead of seperated. Gave up my tv awhile ago but Lost, at the time, got too complicated for me. lol But Jack was in love with Kate the last I saw and Kate was back in the states with the baby of the Australian lady. That's when I stopped. And the bald guy was in a coffin. U can answer or not. :)

when their plane crashed to that island ethan,juliet,ben, rousseau they are already on that island(they saw the plane broke in the air)..but the sideway flash obviously tell us that they are outside of that island(plane landed safely) where ben teaching in a school,ethan & juliet as a doctor. they were suppose to be on that island..
remember when ben takes locke to see jacob in an abandon house:1minute the chair clear and the next thing we saw a guy..they didnt explain that??

One of the worst ill-contrived series ever 2 (dis)grace tv. I never followed the show but saw the last episode to see how it would end and within the first 10 minutes (including the recaps of episode prior) knew pretty much the whole series and who was really what and what was really happening to the people of the island. I have to say that viewer hype was way overboard and the hackney religious references and number references where just plain stupid. Just another ploy to get people to watch.

The island is not real in the sense of it being on Earth. Jacob identifies those capable of finding redemption and prove themselves able to 'let go' of life, the island is a separate reality. All experiences are 'real' to the lost in a similar way to our lives on Earth are perceived to be real. 'Dying' on the island, having proved oneself deserving, allows the 'dead' to meet within the alternate 'LA' construct where they need to remember their island lives by joining their soul-mates.
@60999716 SPOILER the smoke monster was the twin brother of jacob who guarded the island, they were born on the island and their mother was killed by a woman who adopted them and jacobs brother (smoke monster) found out at a later age and left to be with other people on that island, then the fake mum showed jacob the heart of the island and after about 30 years the brother killed the fake mum so then jacob got angry and chucked the brother into the heart and then the smoke monster came out

i watched it this morning, i'm still very lost, please can someone explain in detail. The whole time they were dead? I really love this show, but for 6 seasons i can't believe thats JUST it.
The shows executive producers stated that the series finale wouldnt tie everything up in a nice bow and it didnt. There were still a few things left unanswered like, where does the island come from? What was the light cave? What did the numbers mean? Why was Penny in the church but her brother Daniel wasnt? What was Jacob? What was the Man in Blacks name? If these things were answered at some point let me know and Ill stand corrected.
i finally get it now!! the flash sideways was a kind of purgatory where everyone met before going to heaven. ben, hurley, kate, sawyer and everyone else who survived in the regular timeline led on normal lives until they died like everyone does. there's so much redemption in the finale its just so heartwarming that everyone even people like ben are in heaven now.
I actually really liked the ending because it ends the show with all of the charactors being happy and not having to worry about the island anymore. I don't care if it was a little vauge it allows me as a fan to fill in some of the holes myself. I'm satisfied by the end of the series.
The ending of lost was like that of Narnia..where at the end everyone is dead in a afterlife...i knew it..they name a character after CS Lewis the author of the books in Lost..Charlotte Staples Lewis is the character they name...it had to be it because everyone else is named after a philosopher or a scientist...and couldnt be random author they choose..i knew the ending and figured it out before the show ended..

Wow, this whole series was crazy, and when u really think about it , it made no sense at all.
Basically what i get from this ending is that, after they all died in the 'real world' they met in heaven or where ever.
What i thought were to happen is that "the other life" would be real at the end when they all remembered what happen.
After all Jack supposedly bombed the island ending of season 5.
Well w.e show was still entertaining and still amuses me :)

You should all open your eyes to the fact that Hurley, the immortal protector of the Island and Ben his Richard Alpert, were both in heaven... Which means someone is still on the Island.
Which means there is always the possibility that there will be another LOST season/show... And the series Finale was just fantastic. I'm sorry to all the people who couldn't find the deeper meaning in it.

I thought everyone time-traveled, suffered memory lost, changed history, that the plane didn't crash, then they remember everything and go back to the island to protect it. But the ending is nonsense, it look like if the writer didn't have any answer themself. The ending would have make sense only if everybody would have died at the end, but some survived and escaped the island on plane, what happen to them...

Anyone else tired of the post apocalyptic, end of the world, pre-2012 crap that is spewed out by tv and movies. Its seems with the "so-called" end of the world looming every movies deals with the same theme. Don't believe me. Book of Eli, Lost, Supernatural (good show though), hell even 2012 all deal with an impending doom to humanity or "where will u end up when the end comes Heaven or Hell?" I mean come on already the last show was even entitled "The End".

One of the worst ill-contrived series ever 2 (dis)grace tv. I never followed the show but saw the last episode to see how it would end and within the first 10 minutes (including the recaps of episode prior) knew pretty much the whole series and who was really what and what was really happening to the people of the island. I have to say that viewer hype was way overboard and the hackney religious references and number references where just plain stupid. Just another ploy to get people to watch.

Desmond hit Locke so he could Let Go and find jack to remember their past life.
The black smoke was part of the darkness of the island (it being life and death), Locke was essentially death. Thus why Jacobs brother became it.

Just some questions. The light is electromagnetism therefore electromagnetism has the ability to cure cancer and paralysis, manipulate the time space continuum, is the life force of earth and has the ability to manifest evil?
If no one can find the island and have to be brought there (e.g. by Jacob) then why does Hurley need to protect the island if he can just not bring people to the island?

I haven't watched yet. I'm doing my best not to read anything here until I've seen the Final Episode. I've got 72.3% downloaded currently so it should be ready in the next half hour. Dang slow link. What I'm pissed about is that it's a regular file size. Why couldn't these bastards have done a 2 or 3 hour finale. When I saw it was going to be on on a Sunday, I was for sure thinking that It must be a 2 hour window that they couldn't do on a Tuesday. I"m pissed. This thing could go anyway

I don't understand how can anyone say that Lost's ending was a great finale.Just because they all appeared happy and hugging each other in the final scene doesn't mean that this justifies an ending like that.Everyone's got the idea that Lost was all about the connection of science and religion,supporting Einstein's theories but there were tons of questions that were unanswered.ABC didn't have the right to end it like that

The island is not real in the sense of it being on Earth. Jacob identifies those capable of finding redemption and prove themselves able to 'let go' of life, the island is a separate reality. All experiences are 'real' to the lost in a similar way to our lives on Earth are perceived to be real. 'Dying' on the island, having proved oneself deserving, allows the 'dead' to meet within the alternate 'LA' construct where they need to remember their island lives by joining their soul-mates.

@60999716 SPOILER the smoke monster was the twin brother of jacob who guarded the island, they were born on the island and their mother was killed by a woman who adopted them and jacobs brother (smoke monster) found out at a later age and left to be with other people on that island, then the fake mum showed jacob the heart of the island and after about 30 years the brother killed the fake mum so then jacob got angry and chucked the brother into the heart and then the smoke monster came out

The shows executive producers stated that the series finale wouldnt tie everything up in a nice bow and it didnt. There were still a few things left unanswered like, where does the island come from? What was the light cave? What did the numbers mean? Why was Penny in the church but her brother Daniel wasnt? What was Jacob? What was the Man in Blacks name? If these things were answered at some point let me know and Ill stand corrected.

i finally get it now!! the flash sideways was a kind of purgatory where everyone met before going to heaven. ben, hurley, kate, sawyer and everyone else who survived in the regular timeline led on normal lives until they died like everyone does. there's so much redemption in the finale its just so heartwarming that everyone even people like ben are in heaven now.

I actually really liked the ending because it ends the show with all of the charactors being happy and not having to worry about the island anymore. I don't care if it was a little vauge it allows me as a fan to fill in some of the holes myself. I'm satisfied by the end of the series.

The ending of lost was like that of Narnia..where at the end everyone is dead in a afterlife...i knew it..they name a character after CS Lewis the author of the books in Lost..Charlotte Staples Lewis is the character they name...it had to be it because everyone else is named after a philosopher or a scientist...and couldnt be random author they choose..i knew the ending and figured it out before the show ended..

Season 2 = the worst one! sorry, the "other" stuff wasnt that good very slow season
Season 3 = could be the best one not much mystery but awsome action & fun to watch
Season 4 = didn't have to exist, very short dont really remember much of it anyway
Season 5 = revealing! thats all i can say, quite enjoyed it

The island is some light..really thats the big reveal. Plus this alt universe leaves you not really caring if someone dies in the original time line cause there in this other one.
