@keithpwns You can buy a crappy Chinese drum that sounds bad for cheap, which in turn makes you sound bad. Or you can invest in a high quality, American made Spaun drum that sounds great and makes you sound great as a drummer. Which is really more "affordable" when you consider your life as a drummer and the impression you want to make on the musicians around you?

I like the snare, and I would just like to mention that fact that i watched a lot of your demos/videos and I really really admire your dedication to your craft and I admire the fact that you take the time to demo your kits by your self. You seem very humble as well. What does it mean "Split Snare"? Is it cut in two pieces and sick together only because of the lugs? BTW, snare sounds amazing!

@transplantero Yes, the drum is completely cut in half! Then we put it back together and the lugs are what keep the top and bottom half a complete unit.

What skins are you using, and what's causing the ring everytime you hit it?

@MAD018 It's an Evans G1 coated single ply head. Keeps the drum sound very open and bright. Also, the depth of the drum, thin maple shell, and zig zap split all add to the drums resonance. If you want less ring you can use a 2-ply head with resonace control or use some dampening like Moon Gel or tape. You can always back off the resonance of a drum but you can never add it in if it doesn't exist in the first place.
