hi farfinmosker. member we were discusing how they go in deep water without drowning for a period of time? well, how long is that? and does there have to be bubbles?
@chewy89422 It's probably a bit different for each individual. Some of my crabs will stay under for up to about ten minutes. But I wouldn't recommend testing it or leaving them in the water that long against their will. Most will leave the water within 1-5 minutes. There doesn't have to be bubbles, but I use bubbles to oxygenate the water, and keep it moving so it doesn't stagnate because then I only have to do one water change per week. If no bubbles, it has to be changed every 3 days or so.
@CRaeside10 You really need a bigger tank. I have 10 hermit crabs, and they are in 40 gallons. I could probably fit 15 in there, but I want room for growth.
@hermitcrablady I noticed that my crabs like the pools better when they are well lit and not stagnant. Those are my only tips if they aren't already like that. Other than that, some crabs like to swim and others don't. :)
@teddy5615 I don't have any live plants in my tank, usually. They would just rip them to shreds. Every once in a while, I will buy them a pot of organic wheat grass, and they tear it all up. :) I don't think any live plant would be able to survive their destructive claws. :P

MY HERMIT CRABS KEPT DIEYNG ! :( I BOUGHT LIKE 5 AND THEY ALL DIED THEY WOULDNT EET AND THEY WERE VERY SCARED X( i think it was my fault T_T
