This was my first computer and I bought it in 2007. I paid over £400 for it and I considered it to be a rip off because it only had 512MB RAM and was as slow as a snail. I didn't know anything about computers at the time and was a complete green horn. I've learned a lot since then. When I clicked on Internet Explorer I had to go for a smoke knowing it would take that long to open. I suffered it for a year and then bought something a lot better. I'm glad I kept it as I'll put extra RAM into it.

Guyz, leme tell u my experience with this hp530, first time when I used it, it was soo fast that I felt lucky but, i swear just within a month, there were many problems found like, it was not switching on and off properly and slowing down e.t.c

Just after a year it completely slowed down and now it's motherboard is copmpletely destroyed...

I think that this HP company is nothing more than a peice of shit....

for an HDMI, u need a kinda good graphics card, and this laptop has a fucked up graphics card, on GPU-Z it says it has 8mb of video memory and on some games it says it has 256 mb i dno whats up with that, Anyway if u have heard oh Battlefield heroes , this laptop can hardly play it on everything low, including the lowest resolution, even for a business laptop or for school i wouldnt recommend this. and yea man, 2 usb is pure crap, i always have to unplug something to connect something else.

only up side is the recovery system you dont have to find all those disks the battery is horrible on it its like the G1 of computers it has the potential but falls short

I had this notebook, and if you add 1gb ram more (making 2gb RAM), installing XP PRO SP3, this pc will be extremely fine. It run programs like MATLAB 7.5 R2007B, Autocad 2007!!! at very nice speed, without trouble. If you overclock the processor you can get more speed. I think this notebooks is just for working; for gaming I use my desktop PC, which has a quad core processor and a gforce 8800GTS XXX.

I had a unit of this kind.... but during constant travels, it automatically turns on and the battery gets so heated.  Maybe advisable not for travelling. Must be the frame during close status.

That's a good laptop to have around your desk as an extra Screen/TV/Movie. Oh and if you have a top-of-the-line custom built PC in your dorm room you can control it from this baby in class.

It's not a veeeery good laptop to be as your primary system but veeeeery handy if it's just an extra accessory. I think that's the idea here Logan right?

That was three months ago... i got 3 way sli 280gtx, i had to upgrade my motherboard forst, i can run crysis in 1278 x 720 with anti-aliasing on at 32 fps, which isvery playable, i had 53 as peak.

Ati is still working on getting the drivers work perfectly with a quadcore.

i dont have a sli board, i think sli corssfire is VERY over rated , seriously , i only got a 8800gt and it runs everrything on a 24inch resolution, spending 400 quid on 2 cards is very stupid

Yeah, 2 4870x2 only gives 20% more performance than a single 4870x2 on crysis, but still when new drivers come out, and when (hopefull) new games come out using the capability's of sli, the performance will double.

Take a Physix card for instance, it does you no good for cysis, cus its not suppoerted.
