I really need slipper for my 570 Berg... It's damn hard to back it in feathering the clutch lever and hoping that rear wheel will not lock up or chatter. Maybe in winter when I'll crack the motor open santa brings a nice Suter clutch lol.
nie man keep it up whenever i think of trying something similar, im scared to damage my bike since i cant really cash uot money to repair there and then hehe, are you or were you scared of damaging the bike when you started learning?
@spidey20 No I wasnt, but I dont care so much of how the bike looks... To minimize damage I put plastic pieces on the wheel axles, under the footpegs and on the end of the handlebars. I also use hand protectors from Cycra (the big aluminium ones, the best there is). A tip is to start on gravel or even better grass, just to get a feeling of it. It doesnt damage your bike much either, atleast on grass! :)
Dont listen to others man.You ride and drift very good.No one is perfect. And its better to make mistakes and learn from them instead of being "perfect" and remain in the same level..........Keep pushing it to the edge bro!!! SUPERMOTO FOREVER!!!!
i use to ride ama supermoto for aprilia and im curious how u got ur hands on one they are not cheap unless your not from the states then i can understand how an unexperienced rider would be allowed the honor to own one. only in europe...
@cshansen44 Dude I´m also experienced in psychology and I checked previous comments you´ve made and maybe its time to get some help with those issues of yours :)
The very best in AMA compares to europe but the rest really doesnt.
@cshansen44 They're $10,000 new. In other words, a smidge less than any brand new 1000-class supersport. I don't know where you get off with your "allowed the honor" talk.
@cshansen44 Supermoto is Europe :) States suck at it... as in rally... Formula 1, soccer... etc... so you had to come up with your own sports so you could be good at something (baseball, american footbal etc.)
Well im not sure about supermoto but i ride my NSR as sporty as I am possible on our bad streets and for me it seems helpful to put my knees out to do sharp turns. In the very sharp ones leaning out the whole body helps a lot (as you see in Moto GP)
Isnt it like killing two birds with one stone? To lean backwards isnt counter putting the leg to the left or right i think :-/ In the end you are the pro.
Is it hard to get up the bike with one foot? Looks like it is. Nice video by the way :-)
@MeeGra123 No but if you are sitting straight up as usual you dont move any weight to any side by putting your foot forward
When you put your foot out sideways (forwards is the correct way) you just create a lot of problems (balance etc), and if you need to put your foot down it will put a lot of preassure on your knee and create some nice injuries... :)
Leaning in is ok when you have time to do it, on a supermoto track you dont.
@MeeGra123 Actually you cant make a big difference with the foot but combined with other moves it might just be the touch that saves it, like in this vid. The boots are grippy towards the asphalt tho so the faster you run the less chance you have to save it with the foot :)
@oller1985 Agree, when you have your foot out, when you get in tricky situations when your bike goes "under you", its much easier to recover then with knee out... even tho you don`t the leg out for the most of the time... but as you said... confidence thing ;)
I remember when I once borrowed friends CBR600 for few days, first day I was constantly putting my leg out and every time had to remind my self that I was not on my KTM :)
@MeeGra123 no offence if you just ride on the road you have not even riden your bike %50 of its ability and you havent been able to notice the difference,
get to the track and try there, the knee doesnt help the bike turn, use it as a guage to your lean angle and to feel more stable, some people can touch thier knee at low angle because for them its cool and looks good, but for races touching the knee is the last thing on their mind.
@wanabemxstar1 Dude I've done a lot of supermoto including national championships, international races, national races in other countries and I teach riding technique. I can tell you for sure that its about saving a slide, not moving weight. When you put your foot forward you lean backwards so it kind of counters itself...
@oller1985 that may not be the "reason" you put your foot out. but from a technical standpoint its exactly what it does. Getting your center of mass lower and towards the turn "Saves The Slide".
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
the tires arent warmed up you inexperienced twit.... AT THE 18 AND 40 SECOND MARK HE IS SLIDING THE BACK TIRE ON PURPOSE. ARE U REALLY THAT STUPID TO THINK THE BIKE IS OUT OF CONTROL AND THATS ON ACCIDENT,? LMAO. GO LEARN HOW TO RIDE A MOTORCYCLE BEFORE SPOUTING OUT UR ASS
Tires ARE warmed up, grip differs from different tracks. Both are from braking too hard with either wheel. First one is saved by leaning it up in the right speed and not freaking out, second just releasing the front brake a bit and slide the rear a bit more.
I would have highsided the first one if it had been a warmer day...
well some guys like to slide the back end into turns, its a style or riding, thought thats what was going on, watch DuHamel or aaron yates, those guy slide the back end in like that, good job
i high-sided once cos i lost the back end at barbers in alabama, and that was scary. so thats why i practice a lot more. yeah some dumb ass stalled in front of me, so i hit the front brake and turn sharply on turn 1 and next thing i know i high sided. and was lucky i didn't brake a thing, other guy was scared cos how lucky he was, and the bike fared off pretty well, and your statement is damn right!
xxXinGingtoNxx dnt know wat hes/shes on about, first when you lean into the cornor pump the back break so the back end slips out the feather the clutch full throtel
I dont think you know what your talking about either. You dont just brake, you have to downshift enough so your rear tire is moving slower than the bike. You feather the clutch to gain/lose grip
Front end is saved by sliding the rear even more (which eases up the pressure on the front), since the front end has slipped too theres more room to slide the rear
Rear end, just make it grip smooth and dont panic!
how do you slide into the corner? can someone tell me from start to finish but make it easy for me to understand as i have been riding a supermoto for 3 weeks now.
the trick is to approach the corner with a higher speed than usual, shift down 2 gears, and slowly let the clutch come on. while doing that use the rear brake a little bit (use it at a constant pressure). to control the drift you need to use the clutch (with the clutch you can make the back end come out more/less)
Go down to the gear you want to have out of the corner, then release the clutch smooth and start to turn into the corner. When you hit your "turn point" you should have released the brakes and started rolling on the throttle very smooth. The sliding in this video is done while braking :)
I live in Rome,, here there is a compound of roads, you know Rome? some are long and with the good asphalt, others are tight and with the "saint pietrini"piccoli it blocks of stone embeds that they create the street mantle, here the vibrations to you are many them was also, therefore the motion and the suspensions are much stressed, a normal motion in 2 years would begin to yield, therefore sxv and go
yes.. with translator, but I swear that I learn to speak English. ahahha the sxv is the best and I'm proud that it is Italian bike with the itlian tecnologies,

Actually you are all wrong. The reason riders put their foot out is to move their center of gravity lower and towards the turn.

You should google "backing it in, supermoto, etc" I found a really in-depth article fairly easily on exactly how to do it.
sliding in to the corner is referred to as "backing it in".
modestmoose83 3 years ago
the trick is to approach the corner with a higher speed than usual, shift down 2 gears, and slowly let the clutch come on. while doing that use the rear brake a little bit (use it at a constant pressure). to control the drift you need to use the clutch (with the clutch you can make the back end come out more/less)

Good vid!
I keep training too...
Still not good as you in here. Lol
How do you corner?
I kick down one gear and then, quick turn the gas on, when the tire has no grip, I start de slide do attack de inside of de curve...
Cheers from Brazil!
Keep rockin' !!!
(sorry about my bad english... Lol)

Hi mate!
Go down to the gear you want to have out of the corner, then release the clutch smooth and start to turn into the corner. When you hit your "turn point" you should have released the brakes and started rolling on the throttle very smooth. The sliding in this video is done while braking :)
Keep on riding :)
