@shinhawk yes but for a majority of the time luca was driving, points only went up to 6th position. he had plenty of 7th and 8th finishes, which to todays system, would have gotten him points. he also would have gotten a 4th place finish which would have gotten him points, but his gearbox failed late in the race. people forget to remember that when they talk about bodaer.

as pessimistic as this does sound, i seriously doubt heidfeld will win a race... very sad, i know, but he's landed himself in some pretty solid cars, the '07 and '08 saubers are the best examples.

i think heidfeld's first win will be the result of luck, unlike webber, who fought every second of the race for his.

also, don't get me wrong, i am a big supporter of heidfeld. but after i saw him passively lose to kubica in canada '08, i knew he was destined to always be 2nd...

Right now Heidfeld shares the record of most podiums without ever having won a race with Stefan Johansson. Heidfeld also has the most points scored without ever winning a race, with 225. Nico Rosberg is behind him with 217,5.

1 pole and 2 fastest laps is a better record than for instance Eddie Irvine with no poles and single fastest lap. Irvine won 4 races in a good car though.

Well, Stirling Moss won 212 races in 529 races started in all forms of racing he competed in 1948-1962. That's a whopping 40% win ratio. Can't think of any driver with that record. Also his record winning 1955 Mille Miglia with an average speed of 100mph in a 10hour straight race on Italian country roads is the stuff of legends.

Moss won 4 races in 1958.Hawthorn only 1.Hawthorn won the title with 1 point.

Chris Amon was the unluckiest. Led 852 km, never won a race.

Often he was easily leading only to get a puncture a few laps from the flag, or some rare mechanical failure. Ferrari wanted to keep Amon for 1970 but he got disillusioned and wanted a Ford Cosworth DFV for that year and signed for March. Mistake, his former team mate Ickx lost the title in 1970 by 5 points, and Amon was often better than Ickx in Ferrari.
