  • Since when are Bow Rails not a functional piece of equipment to have?

  • @markeyjames22 Thats what I was wondering...

  • almost 50mph in a 61 footer. holy shit. well, with 3000+hp, she should. haha i wish my viking would go that fast. twin 454's baby!! old school!! shitty fuel mileage.

  • We had a 1987 viking 35 Convertible with Twin Cat 3208 TA's and we would burn easily 120 gallons a day which is alot for a 35 foot boat

  • yea, i have a 1977 Viking 35 convertible. i have twin 454's that i have "modified" so-to-speak. the boat ran around 30mph before i pulled the motors, and now i'm gettin close to 45mph FT. mines not extremely bad on fuel, but its not good either. i'm averaging about 4-5mpg. but i would rather have diesels. if i had the money, thats exactly what i would put in. i love my boat though. so much room. and rides great in rough weather.

  • Yes it ran really well in chop. wow 45 mph?? At WOT we were only getting 28-30 mph

  • yea. 45mph is movin in that boat too! haha i built the motors myself though. each is putting out around 500hp . i have a little over 1000hp in the stern. thats why i can go 45mph. haha

  • Ha that is legit! Those 3208's were putting about 375 hp at peak performance. at the time of sale they prob were not putting out nearly that much. prob 325 ish... needed OH'ed

  • We probably needed an Overhaul. Boat was sold a while back (6 ish years ago) who knows what the new owner has done with it

  • There is no way you run 40 knots. Not possible

  • @jrodnj yes sir. i was hittin 42mph. i blew the port engine 3 months ago, and decided to take the 454's out. i found a pair of 502's for $5000. put a fuel-injection conversion on them (custom kit) and had them dynoed ($500) at roughly 775hp each. yes. they will suck on fuel, but i should be able to pull a set of ski's. i'm getting built tranny's next month. kinda runnin low on funds! lol the engines were turning 5800 WOT when hitting 42 mph. it is possible.

  • @jn20000 its very possible there's faster

  • I'll believe it when I see it. Let's see some video of the boat with GPS shots of the speed. I'd think a tank like a 35' Viking would stop pushing water at some point. What props are you swinging to get that sort of speed????

  • @jn20000 you are FoS, sport. Why lie? What did it get you? Maybe you tricked a 10yr old....that make you a "big man"? pfffft.

  • rowdy

  • silly sped-up video.

  • great job and excellent match with the music
