I don't know if ppl know yet but rogaine works it's not a cure but as long as u are using it your hair grows trust me. Use it for 4 month n I guarantee you'll smile harder than u ever did in life :)
hey just came across your video and just wanted to tell u that u have a beautiful face and when u did the thing with your hands to show what u would look like bald you look absolutely stunning! the wig was very natural looking and nice as well but not many women can rock the bald look but you def could
I have had alopecia areata since I was 17 and now I am 28.. I am curious has your hair ever temporarily grew back? well I just seen the answer :-p the second part of the question. did you go through the stages of being upset when it started falling out again? I went through something I did not expect when my hair grew back a few years ago I felt I lost who I was all over again. got use to having hair then I lost it again. it was like the first time with all 3 stages.
@sanabak hang in there. kids make fun of things they don't understand. sometimes explaining it to them may help a lot of times it won't. if you have some friends that don't make fun focus on them. one thing that may help is clowning around. let parts of your personality outshine your head! let them see there is more to you then your lack of hair. you are NOT JUST a bald person but a (insert trait here, example- smart, funny, crazy, innovative, creative) person.
For all you alopecians out there please do a search for ArcLightCinema on YouTube and then search for Baby Let Your Hair Hang Down. YouTube prevents me from putting the link here so do the searches. Then - VERY IMPORTANT - you have to do LIKE on YouTube. This will hopefully get the film into the ArcLight Film Festival. And I do not have to tell you how important it is to get info about Alopecial to the general public. And please cross-post,
I'm sorry to hear about your childhood.. Ur a beautiful woman and a beautiful person.. Lately I have been freaking out because I see weird spots on my head.. I am a dude with a fade but I can't tell if these spots will develop into bald spots..
i just started i think i have a patch the size of a quarter and its very itchy and burns sometimes im just really worried !! my spot is not bald its like little short hairs some shorter and longer ....am i over reacting by freaking out ???
@TheCIN666 You're NOT over reacting, that's usually how it starts. Please visit a Dermatologist who specializes in hair loss- they offer cortisone injections to take away the inflamation. If you are on oral birth control tablets- stop taking them. That aids in hair loss. I have a form of Alopecia called: follicular degenerative syndrome. An all natural diet helps too- no processed foods and get plenty of exercise. I hope this helps.
I know it's hard to deal with but I always think about the other in life that can be much worst. Of course it's unfourtane we go thru this but it's no control either.
@solaris2291 If u really have it the first and only thing u can do is accept it. I feel like we are chosen to be strong in a different way but it does have it's psycological stress at 1 point or more.
Went to get a haircut today (previously had long hair)... looked in the mirror at the barber shop and almost fell out of my seat when I saw 3 bald spots glaring back at me. So now I have Alopecia and cannot for the life of me figure out how I got it. None of the usual factors (depression, poor diet, etc.) apply to me. So now here I am typing away my misery... with not a clue of what to do next.
CEDRICE, YOU ARE CURAGOUS FOR COMING OUT AND BEING UP FRONT WITH THIS EVEN THOUGH YOU DONT HAVE TO. I ADMIRE YOUR STRENGTH AND JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE BEEN WEARING WIGS SINCE 2006. MY HAIR STARTED TO FALL OUT ON THE CROWN AREA AND IT WAS DEVASTATING TO ME, HOWEVER I JUST WEED OUT PEOPLE WHO MAKE FUN SINCE THEY ARENT REAL FRIENDS. FAMILY AND REAL FRIENDS DONT CARE HOW YOU LOOK BUT LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE. GOD BLESS YOU!
hi! im a 13 yr old teenage girl and i have suffered Alopecia Areata since i was 11 and i have MANY bald spots! i have tried many herbal medicines and been to numerous doctors! i have even tried Scalp Accupunture! but nothing has helped :( idk im worried (alot)... i just want my hair back :( and Cedrice you are amazing! :)
@TheLDubbb I have never tried anything. I take vitamins E, C, fish oil every morning. Not in hope of making my hair grow, but just because it's good for me. :) I've learned to finally except it, but I will try it for a month and tell you the results. :)
It comes and goes when it wants and I've just learned to adjust. Since I'm natural I usually can camouflage the areas or a rock a curly wig, or a beautiful head wrap. Lately I've been looking into treatments and how other women deal with it, since I've pretty much been dealing with it on my own for years. It's great to hear so many women from many different backgrounds talk about it and being open and honest about our journey. The most important thing Ive learned is that this is not our fault...
I lost my hair to Alopecia Areata when I was 9, I'm now 25, which grew back by the 9th grade every where except the back and sides. Just as yours appear in this vid, it is called the Ophiasis pattern, which I just found out. Apparently it's the hardest to grow back. Over the years I've continued to lose spots here and there in the top, I'm actually going through one of those spells right now, but like you i've been dealing with it so long that Ive never really sought treatment since i was young.
I think I may have alopecia of the eyebrows so I shaved them off and am waiting to see if they grow back. My issues allllllll started after I took a depo provera birth control shot in the summer of 09 when I was 16 and since then it's been a battle for me, my hair would shed soooooo badly that I eventually cut it and started rockin a short hair cut, but it was still shedding to I just decided to wear a buzz cut and watch how it acts after that. Im 18 now and so far it's been kinda getting bette
@cwebber00 I agree. It's really all mental. The sooner you start accepting it the better the people that you start surrounding yourself with. Having a strong support system helps in mentally and emotionally.
You are soooooo PRETTY! WHATEVER you decide to do with your hair YOU, THE INNER PERSON WILL SHINE THROUGH!!! The only treatment I've heard of that really works and makes your hair grow is ROGAIN for women. The catch is you have to use the whole line for LIFE! or your hair will go back to the Alopecia state.
You are very pretty! I have alopecia too. I've haven't fully accepted it b/c I continued to buy and try anything to make my hair grow. My hair loss is front and center and I constantly buy wigs to wear when I go and about, but while I'm home and go outside in my yard I'm natural and keep my hair cut very short. Take care and thanks for sharing!
i know a girl with alopecia called kirsty leigh anderson she lives in nelson ear burnely lancashire england 2 brier heights close, she has alopeicia the early stages, its very bad she is bold at the front, but she makes her hair look very nice infact ud hardly ever noyice it facebook her and look at her photos guys she really hot
you know what, you are a beautiful young lady and if someone didn't like it, well you know what i should say, but i will be a lady myself and not type that. i am african american and hispanic. i have hair to the middle of my back. i just turned 35 and its thinning. yea it scares me. but i see girls like you and im like ok, i been lucky i didn't need wigs and weaves my whole life, but it could be something worse. hell i could die while my kids are young. God bless you , you are really beautiful!
It's stressful because it continues throughout life and kinda catches us unawares much of the time. We think it's stopped falling out, when it hasn't. We think it's growing back then it falls out again. How frustrating!
Your so pretty & beautiful! You don't even need hair! You look like a model with out it! I have had alopecia for a year now. And have losted over 85% of my hair. This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. No one in my family has this. And they don't understand or care how I feel. They just say - "It's hair." But it's a part of me. I'M SLOWLY & PAINFULLY LOSING A PART OF ME! =(
I have Alopecia Areata i lived with this since 6 years old, i was bullied a lot, laugh at, and disgusted by other people.
my hair sometimes grows to full hair but comes falling off again, i had steroid injections in my head until i turned 16 i had huge headaches and nose bleeding. i had no choice but to just quit the treatment.
now im 19 and my head is like a planet, the hair is like land and the skin is like the sea
u look beautiful always and dont let anyone change that
For the record, I *never* would've detected the hair if you didn't mention it. It looks terrific, but you'd look great bald my friend. ;) Pretty much impossible for you to not be beautiful, including your personality. :)
I have had Alopecia since I was 12 as well. It was very devestating for me and affected my self confidence. I did not have anyone to relate to either. I felt i was the only one that had it. It still bothers me now as an adult, but I have learned to deal with it alot better. I am a work in progress. I agree though you are very beautiful and could probably rock any look.
I have AA too. Doc's meds did nothing for me but essential oil blends have helped a lot. Enough of my hair has grown back that I can hide by bald area. Also using vitamins with Chinease herbs which is growing my hair longer faster. I love your wig. Looks very natural but I think you're beautiful without it too.
i have alopecia areata i stared seeing bald spots when i was 24 but they would grow back never got bigger than a quarter size ..i got diagnosed 4 months ago soo ibeen dealing with it for 4 years ..the crazy part is my younger brother started developing it his is reallly bad ...i currently get the shots and i see results in 2 weeks i hope i dont get any more cuz is getting a little painfull ... ahhh yess my younger brother we dont have the same dad <3 your positivity
Thanks for sharing! I think you are an amazingly beautiful girl, with and without the wig! I also believe your videos make a world of difference as a source of inspiration and strengh to people!!! Like yourself I am also an alopecian. It has been many years since I have been bald but currently slowly getting there. As my shaving date is drawing closer I am strangely beginning to snap out of the feeling-sorry-for-myself-phase... but it's been rrroughhh! Peace and love:)
hi you're totally hot with or without hair. You will always look beautiful. Don't worry about it and it will probably grow back. 90% of cases grow back. I know heaps of people who had it and it returned. You have a good personality and attitude and i'm sure you will get over this. try not to worry. take care.
You are blessed with beauty. You can put on a wig to mask the hair. I have androgenetic alopecia that is hereditary and it makes my hairline and hair very thin. It is like my hair goes through stages where it is ok then it shedds like crazy. I wear wigs too. I hope you find relief from your situation. And know you are not alone as I thought. keep faith and know we are truly not just hair.

im 22 years old and just found a bald spot. its hard when you have low self esteem and then find a bald spot. i only found it last week and im still trying to get used to it. my friends father is a hair dresser and he said he has had many university students come in with mild alopecia. i dont know if it's due to stress. i would just like to say to cedrice that you are so pretty with and without the wig. thanks for your video. you are so pretty.
yeah it did that to me too. I still wake up in the morning with my boyfriend and apologize for not being pretty for him as soon as he wakes up. I know it's silly of me to say things like that because he doesnt care about it but ... you will find that self-esteem again you've just gotta keep telling yourself that you hair doesnt define you. Your personality will shine through and confidence will come. I've even built tht by going ourside without my wig. it actually heped me.
when i was first diagnosed with it, the doctors offered to give that shot BUT my hair would only grow back for 2-3 weeks then fall right back out again .. im glad i never got it because thats pretty much as long as it stayed when it DID grow back .. thank you for watching :)
Hi Cedrice! You are Beautiful!! I have Alopecia Areata as well and I just started speaking out about it. check out my channel!!! we have to start our own community here to help each other.
You're the best Cedrice-y Boo..You've always been beautiful and always will be..everybody that knows you knows that..im glad you made this video..Show everyone how strong and magnificent you are..Love Peace and Chicken Grease lol..
i love ur channel totally HOT ... =] stay bless & keep up the great work, i added u so if u would like me 2 sub just let me know sub back if u like, be bless doll
You're beautiful Cedrice! I had no idea, obviously, but even if I did, and now that I do, I don't look at you any differently!! You're so amazing & a strong woman! Thank you for sharing this, it's really inspiring.
I'm 15 and loosing my hair, looks like alopecia. Its quite upsetting since I used to be the kid who always did crazy things with her hair and now Im loosing it. I find other peoples experiences really helpful. Thanks for this video. I really look up to people like you who have been suffering from it for a while. x

im 22 years old and just found a bald spot. its hard when you have low self esteem and then find a bald spot. i only found it last week and im still trying to get used to it. my friends father is a hair dresser and he said he has had many university students come in with mild alopecia. i dont know if it's due to stress. i would just like to say to cedrice that you are so pretty with and without the wig. thanks for your video. you are so pretty.

@ultraneva what did you use?? I've heard of a few things .. but I have not tried them just yet because they're so expensive :(

@cwebber00 sorry , the delay in responding
I've used the ointment is composed (garlic water) and (vinegar) for a week
And repeated attempt for a month with all the affected areas returned to the growth of hair
Or treatment using a type of ultraviolet radiation (UVA)
Hurry in treatment before it escalates the situation and loss your hair

I'm 15 right now and I was diagnosed with Alopecia last year when I was 14.
I lost about 40% of my hair but it never got to the point where I had to wear a wig. But my self-esteem dropped so much.
I just wanted to say that you are an inspiration to me.
Thank you for this video. =]

yeah it did that to me too.

Hey,
I'm 15 and loosing my hair, looks like alopecia. Its quite upsetting since I used to be the kid who always did crazy things with her hair and now Im loosing it. I find other peoples experiences really helpful. Thanks for this video. I really look up to people like you who have been suffering from it for a while. x
