@bhorde2k You make an interesting point. In all honestly though I wouldn't just go out and buy a ps4 or xbox whatever till they become cheaper in price after launch. I say that because if they are going to be anything like the original ps3 which started at a ridiculous 600 dollars at launch, then I would wait. On another note I would have loved to see what SEGA brought for the next generation. I loved their console Genesis. Its too bad Dreamcast wasn't as big a success. :(

@Rokamui777 I loved the SEGA Genesis as well. You mentioned the Dreamcast. As far as THIS system was concerned, SEGA pretty much shot themselves in the foot with it. If memory serves me, a lot of third-party game developers found it hard to program for because of it's internal architecture. As awesome a system that the Dreamcast was, it's just a paper-weight if the games don't come.

Btw, the PC is my main priority. I won't even think of getting a console until my next PC build is done. :)

Haven't had a console system since the 16-Bit era, but I would sooner buy a PS4 or maybe even an Xbox720 instead of a WiiU. By the way, if Nintendo would have embraced the disc delivery system long before, the SONY PlayStation may not have ever been. Can you say "Nintendo PlayStation"?

Makes one wonder what the console landscape would be today. Hmm..Nintendo, SEGA and Microsoft, instead of Nintendo, SONY and Microsoft. Or perhaps just Nintendo and Microsoft. I guess we'll never know. :)

The thought of Xbox/ps3 being HD is laughable. Black ops ran at 1040x604, and many other games are sub-720p. My PC is capable of handling full 1080p and up to 1600p. You console kids don't know what HD is.

Nintendo announced at E3 2011. It's called the Wii-U. Touch screen controller (resistive but still very responsive), 7x10.5 inches, includes side buttons (D-pad, 2 analog sticks, L/R, ZL/ZR, A/B/X/Y, Home button), and a stylus. The console has a 1080p display and is compatible with all other wii games. No, they will not have blu-ray (they would have to pay Sony royalties, so it would raise the price). It will have more processing power then the 360 and ps3 combined. They had it on display.

@Tulu227 I don't think you understand that 20mil+ number doesn't even matter too much when you take into account how much of a failure the 3ds was. A lot of money went into that project... Also, with the advent of the next ps portable and other portable gaming alternatives that have open software approaches, like phones, the 3ds pretty much has a very slim chance at best to even look like a marginally good investment.
