Ive run into cops many times. They are human so yes some are dicks some are cool. In my experience its been about 50/50. But when you run into a dick cop it fucking sucks because they got you by the balls.

One of my best friends is a cop, I know lots of them personally too. He used to laugh and joke about how they would all gang up on some guy and rough him up. I have never met a cop who wasn't at least a little bit of a jerk on a power trip. Of course there has to be ones who aren't but it's a profession that does have it's share of jerks. I didn't fight, didn't talk back but 2 New Orleans cops took me on the river side of the levee & told me how they were going to kill me & dump me in the river. They laughed the whole time. They withheld my phone call for over 24 hours. Finally my parents filed a missing persons claim & all hell broke loose. When I told the story to internal affairs... They promised an investigation that never took place. Changed my opinion of cops forever.

However, its hard to tell with these lil 30 second clips whats really going on. I dont know if the cops are guilty or not from that clip. Cops tasering some guy on the floor is not neccessarily wrong or against the law. Cops use pain to get people to comply and stop struggling, so just because he was on the floor does not mean he was not a dick himself.
There should be harsher laws for police abuse of power than the same offenses by civilians. I don't know if there are or not. But if you kick someone's ass unjustly as an on-duty cop, you should get twice the sentence someone else would get... and I don't just mean fired, your ass should do hard time for tasering someone who's already doing what you say. It seems like police get immunity with the badge when it should be the other way around.

I have always supported police...and think every cop I meet for the work he does....but I at the same time have a great amount of issues with police.....they are so poorly trained that they seem to always have to use over excessive force, and tazers, even when they should be trained to subdue someone instead of trying to injure them.....this is not a thing that happens every so often, it is a daily situation....

I got arrested by the cops in Glenwood Springs, CO last summer for taking a picture of an arrest. They erased the pictures and broke my camera while I was in custody. Alot of cops suck and the good ones go bad covering up for them. This guy is exactly right on.

These tasers are the biggest problem in the force right now. Because they give the illusion of not being harmful cops will just use them for anything any time they feel they get 'disrespected'. People have died from these things either through drugs, misuse of the tazer (people falling to their deaths) or even by heart-conditions.

There are some systematic abuses that are rampant by the police because they see civil rights and proper procedure that are designed to protect those rights as an obstacle and a nuisance.
This is one example of this abuse of authority. The other very common one is lying to get probable cause. They say you didn't have your seat belt on when you did to get around not being able to pull you over for no reason, then say they smell something illegal to get past the illegal search and seizure

I use to live in New Orleans and I tell you what - -I will never ever move back. The whole system is corrupt and crooked.
Before during and after Napoleon and Katrina. New Orleans is concidered a Napolianic state which means the government and all who work for it have the right to do whatever they want to you. Including evicting people without a courtdate - arresting people without reason and so on.

This is as old as life itself and expresses the power of a preditor or an authority over the beaten. This is why the term "beaten" is used in sports where the outcome is uncertain. Often times police will think of the citizens as the enemy, and will try to stave in their skulls for the fun of it. Now they got tasers.

For me they called it "obstructing" - just that. The judge threw it out, said he didn't know what it meant.
What it meant was, I was standing on the sidewalk, near where the cops were kicking a friend of mine while he was down. I don't even remember what I said.
I'm female, the friend was male. I got tossed around, slapped and felt up.
There's a bit more to the story, but you get the idea...
Not all cops would do anything of the kind, but enough would, that it's a real problem.

They could never get far in any other profession, so this is the only place they get to wield power. I see cops speeding and committing moving violations all the time. I used to have respect for the police, but over the last 30 or so years, with the meteoric rise of abuse by police, I now believe that the only good cop, is a dead cop. Of course this way of thinking perpetuates the abuse, but I can't seem to help myself. Nobody seems to want to do anything about the abuse by police, who are more and more becoming worse than the criminals they are supposed to protect us from. At 19 I was arrested for a ticket I forgot to pay. I didn't fight, didn't talk back but 2 New Orleans cops took me on the river side of the levee & told me how they were going to kill me & dump me in the river. They laughed the whole time. They withheld my phone call for over 24 hours. Finally my parents filed a missing persons claim & all hell broke loose. When I told the story to internal affairs... They promised an investigation that never took place. Changed my opinion of cops forever.

Trust me, I know cops can be dicks, I have a few stories where I was abused and Im such a sweet guy :D.
However, its hard to tell with these lil 30 second clips whats really going on. I dont know if the cops are guilty or not from that clip. Cops tasering some guy on the floor is not neccessarily wrong or against the law. Cops use pain to get people to comply and stop struggling, so just because he was on the floor does not mean he was not a dick himself.

There should be harsher laws for police abuse of power than the same offenses by civilians. I don't know if there are or not. But if you kick someone's ass unjustly as an on-duty cop, you should get twice the sentence someone else would get... and I don't just mean fired, your ass should do hard time for tasering someone who's already doing what you say. It seems like police get immunity with the badge when it should be the other way around.

I have always supported police...and think every cop I meet for the work he does....but I at the same time have a great amount of issues with police.....they are so poorly trained that they seem to always have to use over excessive force, and tazers, even when they should be trained to subdue someone instead of trying to injure them.....this is not a thing that happens every so often, it is a daily situation....
