Sha na na at Woodstock really began the 50s nostalgia revival. The years leading up to 69 saw a decline in traditional rock and roll. Only some teens in the late 60s even liked 50s-early 60s R&R.
Sounded great' Alan Cooper singing the bass prior to Bowzer's arrival. There was a point in 1971 where Alan returned to sing bass again when Bowzer was ill to fill in, anybody have video or audio of that? This really rocks' Thanks for posting"
Awesome audio. First time I heard Alan Cooper singing bas on Get a Job. The pic however is not Woodstock but Columbia University where the group was formed.
Yeah, there should be more footage of Sha Na Na at woodstock, cause if i remember correctly they filmed a big part of Sha Na Na's performance when they where preparing for Hendrix. (Or something like that)
Just google "Sha Na Na 1968" (Even though the pictures were taken in 1969, heh!) and you should find them! MUCH better quality there of the photos aswell, don't know why it turned out like that in this one! Oh well!
Sha Na Na sang a doo-wop song to 500,000 hippies, telling them to get a job...
... yeah, I'm not really sure they totally, 100% understood the whole scene...

@BurchDurch Also I wonder if Albert Goodman who shot some b/w footage of Hendrix from the right of the stage shot footage of them?
