6:22 - so sad, this narration, gets it so wrong. The Cavern was NOT "where it all began". It began at the Casbah, the coffee club owned by Mona Best, where George, John and Paul first played together. It wasn't until after Mona's son Pete became their drummer, and after their stint in Hamburg, that the Beatle's played the Cavern. It was Mona Best who called the owner of the Cavern to recommend them as a great act. The revisionists go out of their way to keep Pete and Mona in the shadows.
@mkrobinson95 Yes, they shouldn't have phrased it that way. I think if Mark Lewisohn (featured in Pt.2) had been consulted on this script, he would have probably set the record straight. And it has been said that Pete Best was fired because of his good looks, being a 'threat' to the other Beatles' popularity. (Obviously, he has aged well!)
I should correct myself ... the Casbah wasn't the first place John, Paul and George played together, but it was the first time in the line-up that would shortly become the Beatles.
Chris, I remember seeing something similar, but not this! Great footage and very informative! Thank you for this.
