  • Help my camera wont turn on!! Its tries to turn on but turns off. In the mini sd card there were these files AAAAAAAA.AAA and BBBBBBBB.BBB!! Anyone know whats wrong with my camera?!?!?!?!?

  • @Luis717273 The camera creates those temporary files while recording and normally deletes them when the video terminates gracefully, so your camera is not terminating the video gracefully. Try reformatting the flash card or try a different flash card. Make sure the battery is fully charged.

  • @Normandy5 the camera wont turn on anymore. When i have it plugged into my computer, nothing turns on but my computer makes that noise when something connects, but when i press the reset button it turns on for a sec even when it is plugged in!!?

  • @Luis717273 Sometimes the battery protection circuit can get stuck in a mode that keeps the battery disconnected. If that is the problem a "hard reset" might help. See the 808 review page and the 808 #3 page, and search for "hard reset".

  • @Normandy5 Thanks for responding but i bought another one and how do i know what version my camera is?

  • @Luis717273 Go to the 808 review web site, search for "VideoToCameraType", compare a video frame (not a photo) to the frames in the table. You might need to know the audio Kbps also.

  • Do you mean blur the timestamp or prevent the timestamp? If blur, then modify Logoaway for your sunglasses video. If prevent, then go to the 808 review and determine what 808 version matches your sunglasses. If the datetime stamp can be removed from that version, then maybe it can be removed from your sunglasses. The risk is you could permanently make your sunglasses not work.

  • can u do timestamp removal for spy sunglasses?????????

  • but when i crop it with virtualdub, the vid slows down

  • @knex4life55 I have not seen that symptom. Some players, and computers, can't play all codecs and bit rates well. When re-encoding with Logoaway, try using a different video codec or a lower video bit rate.

  • @Normandy5 thanks

  • can I record audio with this???

  • @boem7 All 808 cameras record video with audio. Most 808 cameras, and the #3, do not have an audio only record mode.

  • I recorded a 3 minute video on my 4gb sandisk micro sd card and when i look at the size of the video its over 200mb whats up with that?

  • @aaabronco 80 MB per minute, or more, is normal for a good #3 camera. That is why a 4GB card (4000 MB) can record about 50 minutes, and why the #3 typically has the best video and audio. MJPEG video and PCM audio is not efficient. You can re-encode (MP4, XviD, MP3) and make the video and audio about 80% smaller.

  • my keycam has same bad quality when moving arround :( (proberbly not the newest version)

  • wtf man? my camera #3 when i record for over 2 mins it says avi is broken. sometimes even before 2 mins it gets broken.

  • @MMSband737 If the battery is charged and you have reset the camera, then suspect the flash card. Format it or try a different class 4 or faster card.

  • @Normandy5 I already have formatted it and its still broken avi only records up to like 2 mins. In videodub when it fixes it in agressive mode it only glitches after the broken part. This is my second camera ive bought in china so im suspecting it is the flash card. I bought my 8gb flash card along with the camera. What is a class 4 card?

  • @MMSband737 A class 4 flash card has a sequential write speed of 4 megabytes per second or faster. Run Crystal Disk Mark to benchmark a flash card. Run H2TESTW on every flash card, at least once.

  • @Normandy5 TY for your help. I ran h2testw and out of 8 gb of micro sd memory, 113.5 mb was ok. That explains the only 2 min recording. Are you sure it isnt the 2 cameras i bought that are coruppting the card?

  • @Normandy5 Sorry one more question the sd card i got here in china is probably fake. Would a sandisk 2gb micro sd in the US work? Is that a 'class 4' card?

  • @MMSband737 If you have an existing class 2 card try it and see how well it works. The usual problem with a class 2 card is a higher missing frame rate. If you're buying a new card, buy a class 4 or faster card to get a lower missing frame rate. Flash cards are available in class 2, 4, 6 and sometimes even faster. If unspecified assume it is a class 2.

  • you show the video but you dont show how to remove date and time

  • @chrish1956 On the #3 camera the video date time can't be disabled. It can only be cropped off, or blurred. The video date time stamp can be disabled on the #1, #4 and #7 cameras. At the website search for "Using Logoaway" or "Resizing the 720x480 AVI file of the #3 Camera".

  • this kit is not bad for £8 plus a memory card. I have one and i'm well impressed.

  • Could you do a tutorial for logoaway, the instructions are pretty worthless and the program doesn't appear to be doing anything. I'm sure its something I'm missing but the instructions are too vague to make any sense.

  • @dixonpeter - I have updated the comments with more information about the latest versions of VirtualDub and Logoaway, which have changed since this video was made. I will be doing a Logoaway tutorial.

  • @dixonpeter Why not just use virtualdub to simply crop out the date? That's what I do. No fuss, no muss. Most of the time we don't need the bottom edge anyway.

  • Hi , can someone tell me some eBay sellers selling this exact model (yellow text below)

    Thanks.

  • Cool & good review of all the junk ones sold on eBay, which we don't carry; we only carry the #3 high res version. Keep up the great work.

  • cant seem to find a codec that will work for the compression.. I tried downloading ffdshow, downloaded it but I dont see that under codecs in the "compression" section.

  • Some video players and video editors use internal codecs and some use external codecs. The problem might not be the codec. Some AVIs from the 808 are not compliant (are corrupt) and need to be "fixed". Open the AVI in VirtualDub, set "video direct stream copy" and "audio direct stream copy", then save as a new file name.

  • @Normandy5

Im trying to compress these files. Using Direct Stream Copy wouild be pointless.

I downloaded xvid codec, that worked.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Great vid but I would like to know where i can get type 3 cuz the one I have is only type 1 and it's not as good as the one you are using. Thanks

  • Great vid but I would like to know where i can get type 3 cuz the one I have is only type 1 and it's not as good as the one you are using. Thanks

  • @fboybcb we have them @ eyespypro . com under Special Application spy Cameras, under Spy & Surveillance. The rest are crap.

  • this is the model number 3. I ahve one of these and they work very good. I like the quality and the price even better. Good deal!!! Thanks for the Video and Info.

  • @35cube create a text doc on SD card and paste this

    [date]

    2010/03/31

    00:39:00

afther that edit date and time and save restart the camera

  • Go to the 808 review website, see the video comments, and click on "How to set the date and time". You need to know what type of 808 camera you have.

None of the 808 car keys micro cameras are voice activated.

  • please tell me what is the compression codec, where to download?

my vitualdub crashes when try to save video(for this mjpg file only)

  • Try the ffdshow codec from sourceforge. Or remove and reinstall the latest VirtualDub.

  • Yes shame you can't get rid of date time stamp. How did you blur it out on the latter part of this video please?

  • Sorry, I now see it was Virtual Dub!

  • A link to the review website has been added to the comments. The review describes how to set the date time stamp.

  • That really is quite effective, thanks for sharing!

It's just a shame there isn't a command (that we know of) that you can add to text file to remove it properly.
